Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• The Procurement Officer works with vendors to schedule shipping and delivery times.
• Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
• Receive any orders, and verify that the correct items and amounts have been delivered and properly store the material.
• Verify current inventory levels and keep records to prevent inventory gaps.
• Procurement Officer must verify that product information, shipping information, cost and delivery dates are all correct before obtaining authorization to place an order.
• Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of supplies and equipment; conducts cost/quality comparisons prior to submitting requests to the General Coordinator.
• Confers with officials from all facility units to determine purchasing needs and specifications..
• Maintains contact with vendors regarding orders and merchandise, new products, market conditions, and trends; coordinates purchasing from on-site vendors not associated with university procurement operations.
• Receives, inspects, and distributes merchandise to appropriate individuals; files damage claims with freight companies or vendors.
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
• Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Competency & Technical Skill Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree, HND, OND qualification with 3 - 4 years work experience.
• Good knowlegde of logisitics and warehouse inventory
• Knowledge of procurement processes, policies and procedures.
• Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel etc.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Basic mathematical knowledge

Job Summary

• You will safely and efficiently drive a large commercial vehicle long distances for extended hours to deliver goods. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods must be followed.
• Our ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s licence. You will also be responsible for loading, off-loading, tracking mileage, and documenting schedules, inventory delivery confirmation.

Responsibilities

• Plan routes to meet delivery schedules
• Supervise loading and unloading of goods off the truck and ensure good is secured
• Follow all state and national large truck driving safety regulations and standards
• Complete documentation for mileage and keep track of mileage, fuel, and toll expenses; confirm inventory matches shipping documents
• Refuel the vehicle and check or replace oil as needed
• Inspect truck daily for damage or maintenance problems
• Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisors
• Maintain vehicle equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of an SSCE or a High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 3 - 7 years professional driving experience or related work experience
• Must have a clean driving record with no recent moving violations
• Physically fit and able to sit for long time periods, perform truck maintenance.
• The candidate should be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator
• Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Working knowledge of local roads and routes.
