    Process Manager

    About the Job

    • The job objective of the Process Manager is to study and implement systems, tools, and procedures to optimize the production process and champion continuous performance optimization of different production shop.

    What you'll be doing

    • Monitor the process performance of the entire plant on a day-to-day basis and define corrective actions together with production, quality and maintenance.
    • Define process optimization actions together with quality, production and maintenance; monitor the actions and the results.
    • Ensures recommended optimization actions are implemented by the operators; Carry out a review of the implemented actions to ensure the expected improvements are realized.
    • Champion the development of process knowledge, know-how and capabilities in the plant organization.
    • Leads the development of operators’ process knowledge and development; A key member of the operators’ coaching team.
    • Organize on a daily basis process inspections and review of performance.
    • Lead equipment performance audit (Kiln and mill audit), develop and implement actions to improve equipment performance.
    • Identify and conduct studies, tests and measurements within the Process department in order to improve performance.
    • Define the day-to-day set points.
    • Ensure correctness of sensors.
    • Ensure the quality of process data reported.
    • Define an audit plan and supervise the audits to detect irregularities and find potential improvements.
    • Contribute to fuel cost optimization (optimization of lowest fuel cost) by ensuring and optimizing process conditions which allow a maximum utilization of alternative fuel and raw materials.
    • Ensure progress in control loop optimization and high-level automation.
    • Ensure existence and correctness of procedures.
    • Ensure that process audits and studies are documented and shared.
    • Champion the process awareness within all departments in the plant.
    • Promote exchanges between the process, quality and Production departments.
    • Responsible for the plant process performances, both short term and long term, within the plant;
    • Ensures the process performance is continuously geared towards HBM Nigeria's best practices.
    • Manage action plans to help achieve this objective.
    • Along with other Management team members, take part in the development of the plant PIP and annual budget.
    • Coordinate actions with the Technical Centre.
    • Comply with EMS Process Instrumentation activities.
    • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering).
    • 8 years’ industrial experience, 3 of which must have been spent in a heavy industrial engineering process function.
    • Good knowledge of cement manufacturing process.
    • Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
    • Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
    • Good written and verbal communications skills.

    Treasury Operations Analyst

    About the Job

    • The Treasury & Trade analyst will manage treasury operations, trade finance activities, and banking relationships. 
    • The role holder will be responsible for processing and reconciling treasury and trade transactions, managing Letters of Credit (LCs), foreign exchange (FX) activities, bank reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and SAP postings.

    What you'll be doing

    Health & Safety:

    • Ensure that safety rules and standards are maintained always.
    • Trade Operations
    • Ensure documentation for Letters of Credit imports and FormM is dealt in fast turnaround time
    • Ensure all trade transactions paid by Bank on SAP are posted within 7 days of creation of the noted items. F-53
    • Develop journals for the GL team with regard to all trade transaction postings- FX purchases, forwards, Debit to account for Trade-related transactions
    • Develop and submit payment report to be shared on the 3rd of every month, outstanding Liabilities to Vendor & Bank on the5th of every month and other Contingent reports by the 3rd of every month
    • Spool the vendor due payments with the Banks for FXpurchases every fortnightly and close all LC discrepancies with the Banks on payment every month
    • Manage Charges on transactions are reviewed in line with existing facility approvals.
    • Collaboration with Banks to Manage Trade reports are shared as at when due,
    • Collaboration with internal Stakeholders: Industrial,Procurement, shipping teams for smooth operations as related to documents for processing LCs, postings transaction andpayment on already shopped goods
    • Manage all Letter of Credits (LC) for the suppliers
    • Manage that unlisted LC balances are refunded on a timely basis
    • Manage all LC documentations are finalized within a stipulated period of time.
    • Coordinate all activities surrounding the Credit and Debit card e.g issuance, Loading, reimbursement, settlement and replacement
    • Assist in preparing all Trade and FX Treasury related account schedules are prepared and submitted to the Head of Accounts for external audit purposes within the timeline specified.
    • Ensure that audit secularization issues from the bank related to Trade and FX transactions are delivered to the banks and all discrepancies are reconciled.
    • Ensure prompt processing of all manual payments outside auto-pay
    • Review of cash report to ensure Banks entries are correct
    • ​Attend to statutory payment via the Remita platform to ensure the Remita receipt is generated by the bank and shared with the requestor.

    Requirements

    • HND/BSc (Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Banking & Finance etc.) ACA/ACCA
    • 3 years demonstrated experience Treasury Operation management
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    About the Job

    • To lead investigation of chronic or recurring problems, leading in the research, design, implementation and improvement of the final solution and track. 
    • Prepare and make mechanical, civil or structural and electrical drawings using computer aided design (CAD) technologies.

    • Strong computer Skills especially AutoCad, Solidwork, Excel, word, power point and email applications.

    Country Kiln Coach , Coal and AF Trainer

    About the Job 

    • The Country Kiln Coach is to guarantee efficiency and optimization of the burning line by working in conjunction with process, quality and maintenance team, and to improve plant performance by developing the Control Room Operators to mastery level of competency in VRM and kiln operations. 
    • This is achieved through a continuous process of daily performance monitoring, evaluation and feedback, maintaining and improving the plant efficiency through analysis of specific process parameters and ensuring conformity with Safety, Environmental and Quality guidelines.

    What you will be doing

    Safety:

    • Applies and ensures application of Safety standards, advisories & procedures in all activities
    • Analyzes all process incidents and work with PCS to mitigate the impact of such incidents and propose solutions to prevent future reoccurrence
    • Monitors application of plant kiln system SOP’s
    • Coordinate the development of operational procedures (SOPs) for the execution of all production related tasks in the plants.

    Industrial Learning & Development:

    • Coordination of the Training Session
    • Peruse trainees’ profile and structure syndicate group to optimize learning process.
    • Study Plant assessments to optimize the learning process.
    • Ensure that Software and Programs required are available on training computers. E.g.Cecil, simulator…
    • To prepare the production training calendar & road map.
    • Follow up logistics and requirements.

    Implementation of Training Session:

    • Present Training Program for all production & process Eng. staff (CRO, Shift manager, patrollers) and conduct individual assessments.
    • Monitor Trainee’s activity during Program.
    • Conduct Coaching discussion before Trainee returns to home plant and clarify on the job assignments at home plant
    • Request Trainees to complete post training evaluation document and forward toCoordinator

    Training center Follow Up:

    • Compile an individual Training report, on the job assignments, course evaluation document &forward the above to the training manager.
    • Monitor progress of the on job home plant assignments.
    • Evaluate & provide feedback re on the job assignments to Plants.
    • Assess final assignments & forward to CIP for moderation

    Performance:
    Helps Plant operators to achieve operational consistencies by:

    • Leading incident review \ analysis process with CCR operators & Kiln Coaches from time to time
    • Setting operational objectives from the operator incident review log data analysis
    • Reviewing, analyzing & optimizing Kiln tracking tool
    • Identifying the possible cause of process target deviations and gaps in optimum conditions.
    • Reviewing and analyzing the clinker / Cement quality control data on a frequent basis.
    • Reviewing and analyzing the raw mix preparation quality control data frequent basis.
    • Reviewing and analyzing shift downtime reports from the software (ADAP, etc)

    Supports plant operators training and development by:

    • Follow up the implementation of the new Certification program for Kiln /cement millsCROs.
    • Implementing training and development needs of CCR operators and patrollers
    • Conducting effective one –on-one training activities when necessary
    • Making effective use of available training media for training delivery (CECIL + Produce & Maintain)
    • Developing an effective structured on the job training program (OJT)
    • Conducting effective group training activities & post training on job Coaching
    • Design and develop a training module.
    • Leading role in POM implementation.
    • Identify and train a capable successor within the time frame of 2-3 years.
    • Must be ready and attend to on 24/7 call duty in any of the Country plants

    • Follow up the implementation & support new certification programs for CROs & Patrollers.
    • Frequent reviews and follows up with operator actions relating to major process line control
    • Continuously monitors, gives feedback and coaches operators to produce quality at all stages of manufacturing process.
    • Plays a priority role as coach in CRO’s training, assessment, and certification process.
    • Communicates with operating personnel about process control.
    • Contributes to development, implementation and to keep update the plant productionSOPs and enforces a policy of strict adherence to their use.
    • Ensures alignment of Standard Operation Procedures with accepted control strategies and best practices.

    Continuous improvement:

    • Regularly Participates in Operations incident analysis processes (RCA) and contributes to implementing recommendations & action plans.
    • Contributes directly to the optimization of automation systems such as QMC and LUCIE, and the evaluation of control loops.
    • Encourage the CRO’s to use actively tools like IP21, LUCIE, TIS and Auto Loops, etc.

    Alternative Fuel Engineer

    About the job

    • To facilitate co-processing of alternative fuels and raw materials (AFRs). 
    • Ensure achievement of thermal energy cost reduction by defining and implementing programs for optimizing and increasing the use of AFRs co-processing units (cement plants). 
    • Contribute to increase the use of AFRs by developing methods to address operational challenges in terms of process, quality and environment. 
    • This also includes the follow through with reports, meetings, action closure through cordial relationship with Plant Manager, Performance Manager, Supporting Managers, H&S Manager, Training & Learning, Commercial and Legal, Geocycle etc.

    What you'll be doing

    • Prepare and coordinate the weekly, monthly meeting to follow up the Alternative Fuel (availability?), ensuring that the monthly budget for Alternative Fuel consumption is achieved
    • Prepare and coordinate the annual elaboration of Alternative Fuel road map while tracking actions for Alternative Fuel.
    • Benchmark co-processing cost & KPIs, support target setting process and challenge cement operation in the area of AFR utilization Define and implement operational performance assessments and process improvements in the field of co-processing and support on – site co-processing operations
    • Register the actions generated on the ‘action log tracker’ for important audits, visits, projects, meetings in relation with stakeholders related with Alternative Fuel as Geocycle.
    • Support Geocycle team in Alternative fuel related CAPEX in definition and prioritization of projects for optimizing and steady increase of Alternative fuel consumption Manage OPEX/CAPEX related to AFR plant operations.
    • Ensure all potential process and quality issues related to clinker production are considered in the global fuel mix (Alternative fuel & raw materials)
    • Determine and Maintain (with the support of Geocycle) the required inventory level of all Alternative Fuel materials and industrial waste to ensure continuous and sustainable Alternative fuel injection Leader/champion of the continuous improvement plan through innovation, improvement projects, ideas generation etc. (Is this for AF/TSR or all of plant improvement?)
    • Maintain and further improve the health, safety and environmental aspects within the remit of this role and actively participate in the development of the health and safety culture on site.
    • Monitor and optimize process parameters in terms of recycling waste materials from the quarry to the cement milling. Explore ways of efficiently managing the consumption of industrial waste coming to the plant and liaise with key managers for successful consumption
    • Liaise with the Process manager) to optimize fuel mix and usage (traditional and waste-derived fuel) through results obtained from fuel analysis and obtain the most appropriate mix which favors environment, clinker quality and costs.
    • Lead daily reviews to manage the % Alternative Fuel targets.
    • Lead the Alternative Fuel meetings to achieve significant improvements in percentage Alternative Fuel consumption.
    • Work closely with the Maintenance department to share knowledge and expertise that will help to improve the plant % Alternative Fuel
    • Lead the performance and development of the staff within the department.
    • Liaise with the Quality Manager to support and run trials to define appropriate process parameters for the production using Alternative Fuel, especially the new Alternative Fuel.
    • Liaise closely with the Environmental Co-Ordinator to ensure process compliance with regulation and support the relationship with the regulatory Agencies.
    • Support implementation of ISO 14001:2015 EMS and ISO 9001:2015 QMS in the department
    • Ensure continuous follow up with production and process parameters that will allow for steady plant operation despite the fuel mix being utilized.
    • Support to carry out other activities as may be required by management from time to time. (Co processing is already process related.)
    • Who you'll be working with

    Requirements
    What we are looking for:

    • Degree in Chemical Engineering or any other relevant degree with a certification in NEBOSH.
    • Minimum of five (5) years process engineering within the cement industry is desirable.
    • An in-depth knowledge of processes: quarry, raw meal preparation, burning, air flows combustion, grinding.
    • Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency (including good knowledge of PowerPoint).
    • Good knowledge SAP and SAP FC is a plus. Good knowledge of raw material chemistry, cement manufacturing process.
    • Good knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9002).
    • Good planning skills
    • Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and methods
    • Good process knowledge of kilns, mills, separators and similar equipment.
    • Ideally, have experience in undertaking process audits.
    • Good knowledge about AF, Alternative cementation materials
    • Knowledge of AF equipment, the process of AF production, characteristics, etc.

    • Support Electrical Planners in specifications for purchase of spares and monitors the stock of spares to achieve acceptable level of Working capital.
    • Prepare updated electrical equipment database across the plant, electric motor data, transformer data ,VSD data and other critical spare part data.
    • Ensures compliance with Environmental & Quality system programs in the department monitor and document all electrical waste.
    • Provides Technical and Expert Support to plant team during operations and in case of a plant fault or breakdown.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 6 years’ postgraduate experience​.
    • Good knowledge of cement manufacturing process. 
    • Good knowledge of product quality parameters and quality control tests.
    • Good knowledge of computer aided systems for kiln and mill operation.
    • Able to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
    • Good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation in an integrated cement manufacturing plant.
