    Patroller

    Overview

    • To patrol, monitor and ensure that equipment runs smoothly in order to meet the job specifications of the shift.
    • Production patroller mission is to serve as the first level inspector, and participate in planned shutdown and running maintenance of all plants safely and efficiently through a complete working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Obtain plant status information from all relevant sources at the start of the shift.
    • Systematically walk through the designated area and inspect the condition of equipment, check that parameters are within specified limits.
    • Complete properly the information for handover to next shift.
    • Communicate work status, hazards, abnormalities & unresolved problems clearly to all relevant persons to ensure they can be fixed and taken into account during the next shift(s).
    • Detect & record abnormalities and potential problems, communicate them to CCR or superiors & take if possible prompt corrective actions.
    • Suggest improvements or inclusions of new items in checklists.
    • Carry out accurate stocks measurement according to procedures (incl. Safety aspects) & report the stock levels to CRO/supervisor.
    • Identify minor repairs and follow up for maintenance to be carried out.
    • Obtain approval (work permit) from the Shift Leader or Supervisor before starting the repair job. Control risks and ensure compliance with safety & environmental requirements.
    • Undertake the repair job according to procedures & manufacturer specifications using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Assist the maintenance team for jobs requiring coordination between maintenance and production.
    • Manually start, adjust and stop equipment in accordance with procedures.
    • After it has been stopped, obtain CCR instruction before adjusting equipment.
    • Switch off the equipment in a position that makes access easy and make sure area is clear and safe for maintenance.
    • Perform pre-start checks (incl. testing of equipment) & confirm to CRO that equipment is ready for start-up.
    • Ensure auxiliary equipment operates properly after start-up and report any abnormalities.
    • Any other additional responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor/Manager

    REFRACTORY installation:

    • Install refractory correctly according to relevant techniques (For kiln Patrollers)

    Health and Safety & Environment:

    • "Identify & communicate clearly on potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood’’.
    • Ability to perform a general lockout.
    • Manage first level emergencies and giving first aid.
    • Inspect /maintain equipment to ensure environmental compliance.
    • Know regulations & plant environmental policies. Know & prevent potential environmental spills associated with plant operations (auxiliary equipment).

    Education / Qualifications

    • Minimum of National Diploma (ND) or equivalent in any Engineering or Science discipline

    Experience:

    • Experience with safety regulations and procedures
    • Cement production process knowledge
    • Plant equipment and layout: form and function
    • Basics on problem solving methods and tools (Root Cause Failure/Risk analysis)

    Technical / Functional Skills:

    Central Control Room Operator

    Overview

    • Central Control Room Operator primary objective is to organize and coordinate the production shift team to produce good quality product taking cognizance of safety, efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cost per tonne.

    Responsibilities

    • To operate the equipment according to Lafarge Best Practice putting in mind the Safety of Personnel and Equipment
    • Control all major process lines within the cement manufacturing operation including equipment commissioning, starts- ups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management as per established SOP’s in order to meet production requirements.
    • Monitor continuously, all plant process lines using all available tools to ensure employee safety, stable equipment operation, equipment integrity within prescribe design limitations, operating targets, and environmental regulations
    • Contribute to maintaining equipment in good working condition by complying with the instructions of use and by regular monitoring of the equipment and advising the maintenance department if need be.
    • Ensure protection of environment in compliance with group standards within the fields of activities.
    • Co-ordinate with production fieldsmen for smooth operation of the plant.
    • To maintain the quality within the range as defined in the Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Monitor the production results (production amount, energy consumption, etc.) in order to meet the agreed Plant KPIs
    • Follow operational procedures (SOPs) in the execution of all tasks in the plant
    • Operates all equipment within Lafarge and local environmental protection standards.
    • Directs the activities of Patrollers, Process assistants and mobile plant operation.
    • Directs “break-down” and problem solving activity including troubleshooting and determination of related overtime staffing needs.
    • Follows continuous quality monitoring and make necessary adjustments to system(s).
    • Serves as liaison with Automation Engineer regarding problems on major equipment.
    • Serves as Plant Emergency Response Coordinator in the event of a serious production environmental, or safety incident.
    • Champion the development/review of standard operating procedures for Production department.
    • Conducts/leads safety meetings with shift personnel
    • Monitors all radio communications for problems/difficulties in the Plant.
    • Completes paperwork and record keeping as required, including production and equipment reliability logs, work order entry, mill operating report data, etc
    • Assists in operational and safety training of old employees and induction of new employees.
    • Completes and conducts performance reviews of hourly employees in production department.
    • Comply with EMS Production Instrumentation job functions.
    • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.

    Education / Qualifications

    • BSc / HND in Engineering discipline (with Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Chemistry or Physics as main subjects)
    • OND in engineering discipline (with Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Chemistry or Physics as main subjects)

    Experience:

    • 2-3 years experience in a process industry (BSC/HND)
    • 5-8 years cement industry experience (OND)

    Knowledge & Skills:
    Technical Competencies:

    • Good knowledge of operation and control of Vertical Roller Mill, Kiln and Finish Mill systems.
    • Good knowledge of product quality parameters and quality control tests.
    • Good knowledge of computer aided systems for kiln and mill operation.
    • Ability to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.

    Overview

    • The Category Manager's primary responsibility is to drive and be accountable for category performance and initiatives in own Country and others where responsibility has been assigned in the category charter. 
    • Where and when appropriate, participate in regional or global category management teams representing own Country.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in the management of cluster categories for the LafargeHolcim group by representing own Country in cross-functional teams with full accountability for category performance
    • Develop Procurement category strategies as a member of the category management team that are integrated and aligned with overall global strategies, and with the LafargeHolcim business
    • Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in own and other Countries, in line with regional and global strategies.
    • Identify saving opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at all operational levels
    • Where and when appropriate represent and serve other Countries without direct category management representation for the respective category(ies) and be accountable for delivery of savings in these and own Country
    • Drive initiatives and projects, identify and remove potential barriers to success

    • Where and when appropriate represent own Country as a member of the regional or global category teams (participation level determined by Country spend) to establish strategies and initiatives

    Education / Qualifications

    • First Degree in relevant course

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years in strategic procurement role (category management, sourcing) with exposure to supply chain management, complex strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards
    • Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with requisite drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits and capability building agenda is successfully delivered

    Knowledge & Skills
    Technical / Functional Skills:

    • Knowledge of support services (Commercial, Legal, HR, Finance etc) requirements would be an advantage
