    Telecom Rigger

    Job Description

    • As a Telecommunication Rigger, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, particularly antennas and towers.
    • Your role involves working at heights to ensure that wireless communication systems operate efficiently and safely.

    Responsibilities

    • Corporate Customers: Restore service failures within 4 hours of its occurrence- Installation and commissioning of new projects.
    • Incident Communication: Provide prompt feedback with information relating to activities being carried out to resolve customer service incidents.
    • Identify and Execute nodes/segment that require preventive maintenance on the network as assigned
    • Execute backhaul link installations and commissioning.
    • Alignment of backhaul links.
    • Installation of microwave radios and alignment.
    • Ensure survey reports are done and submitted timely for review.
    • Ensure all status reports are done and submitted accordingly – Installation and commissioning data form.
    • Technical Site Survey (TSS) on the microwave radio and VSAT Platforms. Using tools like GPS, Compasses and Microwave link budget software for data collection and analysis.

    • Installation and Maintenance of Alvarion Radios and Soma Base Station.

    Truck Driver (Other Machines) - Low Bed and Hiab Truck

    Purpose of the Job

    As a truck driver you will play a crucial role in the transportation of drilling equipment, materials, and machinery to and from job sites. The Truck Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods, while adhering to all relevant traffic regulations and safety protocols specific to HDD operations.

    Job Description

    • Operate company-owned or leased trucks to transport HDD equipment, materials, and machinery to job sites in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic rules and HDD-specific safety guidelines.
    • Work with the truck-boy to safely load and unload HDD equipment onto and off the truck, ensuring proper securing and protection of valuable and sensitive machinery.
    • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to plan efficient routes to job sites, considering road conditions, traffic, and the specific requirements of HDD operations
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the truck, with special attention to the secure transportation of HDD equipment. Monitor fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, and other critical systems.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing transportation, parking and HDD operations. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Comply with Estates and Residents association policies and procedures while trucks are used within those environments.
    • Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations that may occur during transport, such as breakdowns or accidents, by following established protocols and contacting the appropriate authorities.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills:

    Academic: High school certificate, diploma or equivalent qualification.

    • Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class G and above) with a clean driving record.
    • Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with a minimum of [2] years experience in transporting heavy equipment or machinery for HDD operations.
    • Solid understanding of Nigerian road networks, routes, and traffic regulations.
    • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with site personnel and project managers.
    • Physical fitness and ability to handle loading/unloading of heavy HDD machinery.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle and equipment repairs.
    • Responsible and reliable with a strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

    Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing project demands.

    • A minimum of 2 years experience working as a truck driver

    OSP Supervisor

    Job Description

    • The Outside Plant (OSP) Supervisor oversees maintenance of ipNX fiber optic & civil work activities on the outside plant network.
    • The OSP Supervisor will be involved in the day- to- day maintenance and management of the outside plant, taking into consideration Customer and Local Authority organizations in the maintenance of the fiber outside plant.
    • The role is expected to involve a significant element of on-site attendance.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Corporate Customers: Restore service failures within 3 hours of its occurrence- Implementation and integration of new projects and ensure all open incident tickets are closed within this time-frame.
    • Retail Customers: Restore service failures within 12 hours of its occurrence.
    • Incident Management Communication: Provide prompt feedback for input into the OTRS application with information relating to activities being carried out to
    • resolve customer service incidents.
    • Proactively identify, plan and execute preventive maintenance action on the fibre network.
    • Audit and collate information for the fiber outside plant network. Prepare the as-maintained documents within region/sub-region managed for the O &M Unit.
    • Ensure weekly support status reports are done and submitted timely for review.
    • Activate FOS Customer requests within 3 days of sign up. Sign-off the Customer Feedback Form, prepare and submit post-activation report.

    Requirements

    • University Degree in Telecoms, Engineering or Applied Sciences.
    • At least 2 years in telecommunications industry, with experience in Fiber network deployments. and outside plant maintenance.
    • Specific Knowledge of Civil Works planning applications with Nigerian Local Authorities.
    • Proven track records of maintenance and management of metro and/or long distance fibre optic infrastructure.
    • Sound knowledge of telecom industry best practices, norms and technical requirements with regard to fibre & civil work maintenance.
    • FTTx and/or P2P fibre deployment and maintenance experience are distinct advantages i.e. fibre termination using fusion splice machines, testing & analyzing fibre links with OTDR and Light Source/Power Meters (LSPM), identifying fibre cores with VFLs.
    • Capable of understanding fibre network architectures, designs & splice plans.
    • User experience for Microsoft Office Tools including a good working knowledge of MicrosoftProject.
    • User experience for Visio/AutoCAD/GIS tools is desired.

    Outside Plant Project Supervisor

    Job Description

    • The Project Supervisor will be directly responsible for and actively involved in project execution planning, monitoring and control, stakeholders’ engagement, and risk averting, in an effective manner that ensures projects are delivered to time, quality, and scope.
    • The role will typically involve everyday visits to project sites to ensure project objectives are not compromised and where necessary, guide the contractor to solve complex installation problems.
    • The project supervisor is also responsible for final integration & commissioning of service terminals (GPON or P2P) within acceptable loss levels and submitting test reports required for service fulfillment and maintenance operations.
    • Effective planning of P2P and GPON Fiber Projects
    • Provide daily project work plan and activity reports to team lead/data analyst, every day, throughout the duration of the project.
    • Provide prompt updates on issues/challenges that may impact project delivery dates.
    • Sign out and move materials to project site, in a timely manner.
    • Review quality of materials supplied to site by contractor (e.g. PVC, HDPE, GI pipes, iron rods, etc.) and ensure they meet ipNX standards. Reject sub-standard materials and escalate back to your Team Lead.
    • Enforce compliance with work methods and other deployment guidelines within Estates & MTUs.
    • Actively monitor civil works (trenching/ducting, hand-holes construction, pole planting, cabinet installation).
    • Actively supervise cable pulling/MST box installation, splicing and termination.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations in line with SHE standards, e.g., working at heights, working around power lines, working in greenfield environments, working around underground utilities, working at night, etc.
    • Provide daily/regular activity reports to Estate/Facility Manager in a timely manner and manage issues proactively.
    • Maintain a healthy relationship with Estate/Facility Manager, residents/customers and other key stakeholders.
    • Ensure a healthy relationship between project team & key stakeholders (e.g. EM/FM, residents, customers, property owners, area boys, etc.).
    • Validate, submit & track variations until approval.
    • Validate and track milestone payments until approval.
    • Ensure project snags are cleared before hand-over/audit.
    • Submit kick-off meeting reports, milestone reports, MST or P2P splice reports, OTDR trace test and hand-over reports.
    • All reports must be submitted 24 hrs after activity/task completion.
    • Attend all project meetings – weekly review meetings, on-site kick-off meetings, divisional meetings, customer triggered meetings, emergency meetings.
    • Actively participate & lead project hand-over/audit exercise.
    • Proactively engage stakeholders to mitigate escalations that may stall/delay project speed.
    • Provide support to other team members or units where necessary, or as instructed by your team lead or unit head.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • University Degree in Telecoms, Engineering or Applied Sciences. Certifications in Fibre Optic Cabling, CFOT or FOA will be an added advantage. Certifications in HSE Grade III will be an added advantage.
    • Proficient use of fiber test tools e.g. OTDR, power meter & Light source, VFL.
    • Proficient use of design software e.g. AutoCAD, Visio/GIS tools, etc.
    • Proficient use of basic data analytics software, e.g. Excel, Word, Google live sheets.
    • Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Oral).
    • Sound knowledge of telecom industry best practices with regard to fiber & civil installation.
    • An inherent culture of documentation – daily project activity reports, As-built drawings, splice reports, OTDR trace reports, project milestone/completion reports.

    OSP Planning and Design Technician

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct Site surveys for study and planning of new FTTH deployment.
    • Prepare Low Level Design of Civil and Fiber Infrastructure for
    • Optical Distribution Network (ODN) deployment to cover future demands.
    •  FTTH Optical Distribution Network (ODN) planning, Cost estimation, Route Selection, fiber Management and Fiber Link Power Budgeting.
    •  Prepare detailed FTTH design drawings including duct layouts and cabling layouts.
    •  Preparation of BoM for FTTH OSP projects.
    •  Preparation of High Level project scope description.
    •  Preparation of fiber cabling plan and splice plans for FTTH projects.
    •  Review of as-built drawings with FTTH roll-out team to ensure conformity with original design.
    •  Planning and site selection of Central Offices (CO)
    • Design of Central Offices’ civil and fiber infrastructure
    • Pre-project discussions and co-ordination with FTTH roll-out
    • team and OSP vendors.
    • Joint site walk-throughs with OSP Supervisor and contractor after kickoff meetings.
    •  Conduct joint surveys with project team to resolve variation and change in scope issues.
    •  Revise designs and BOMs and send in the documents for variation or scope change approval.
    •  Accuracy of OSP design (measured by level of modification by Team lead required on the design before final submission to Head, Network Services Business Unit).
    •  Accuracy of Bill of Materials within tolerance limits.
    • The percentage of time site surveys are done within schedule without un-necessary re-visits.
    • Accuracy of High level Descriptions (measured by level of modification required after submission to Team Lead)
    • Accuracy of Fibre Splice Plans

    Qualifications & Skills

    • HND in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Information Systems. However, field experience for Non- science or engineering backgrounds can be considered.
    • 2+ years relevant work experience.
    • Experience using CAD (Autocad, Visio) and Microsoft office software.
    • Excellent communication skill.
    • Analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Prioritizing work.
    • Generating & maintaining accurate records.
    • Outside Plant Fibre experience – site surveys, fibre laying, splicing, termination, troubleshooting.
    • Ability to use fibre tools e.g optical power metre, light source and OTDR
