    Microbiologist

    Job Summary

    • Apple and Pears Limited, a manufacturing company, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Microbiologist to support food safety and quality assurance activities within our processing facility.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for microbiological testing, analysis, and monitoring to ensure products meet required safety and regulatory standards.

    Job Description / Responsibilities

    • Conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and surfaces
    • Monitor hygiene and sanitation practices within the production environment
    • Interpret test results and report findings to the QA team
    • Identify microbiological risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions
    • Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and reports
    • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and laboratory procedures
    • Support internal audits, inspections, and food safety programs
    • Work closely with QA and production teams to ensure product safety and quality

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc Degree in Microbiology or a related Biological Science discipline
    • 1 - 4 years’ experience in a Microbiologist role within a food manufacturing or laboratory environment

    • Operate, maintain, and repair VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) machines, food seasoning machines, and other food packaging equipment
    • Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery
    • Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime
    • Ensure equipment operates in compliance with safety and operational standards

    • Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new machines

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Proven experience operating, maintaining, and repairing VFFS machines, food seasoning machines, and food packaging equipment

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals
