Job Summary

• The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Technician-Belt Vulcanizer role at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for the repair and maintenance of conveyor belts.
• This involves inspecting belts for wear, Joints (Fastener / Vulcanizing), Skirts, Idlers, Scrapers and other issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing hot and cold vulcanization of conveyor belts of different types and Grades to ensure optimal performance.
• Material preparation: Marking, Splicing, Centering, Weaving and materials  preparation for vulcanization.
• Perform vulcanization of conveyor belts to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspection and maintenance of Vulcanizing Equipment.
• Document report findings, repairs made, and any repairs needed for the future.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to address mechanical issues.
• Participate in training and safety meetings as required.

Requirements

• OND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience.
• Good practical and technical skills.
• An understanding of engineering drawings and principles.

Job Summary

• The Electrical Technician at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for performing routine maintenance, installation and repairs to electrical power, motor, motor control circuits etc on the various plant machines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance which includes but is not limited to the following: fault analysis, component replacements, alignments and calibration, repairs, installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required.
• Perform install of electrical machines/ equipment using prescribed blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications installation procedures.
• Develop or modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, or equipment, according to available specifications.
• Carry out all tasks in compliance with all Management Systems.
• Carry out all tasks in compliance to Plant safety regulations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineer/ Shift Engineer.

Requirements

• An Ordinary National Diploma or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• A minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.

Description

• The primary function of this role is to be responsible for directing or performing all activities related to maintaining a successful hybrid (on-premises and Azure Cloud) database environment and will also make sure the organisation's databases and its related applications operate functionally and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

• Software installation and Maintenance: Collaborates on the initial installation and configuration of new MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server instances and databases, which includes and not limited to, upgrades, service packs and security patches installations.
• Database High Availability, Backup and Recovery: Create backup and recovery plans and procedures based on industry best practices and the business policies, then make sure that the necessary steps are followed, as well as ensure the highest availability for database instances.
• Security: Conversant with potential weaknesses of the database software installed, with the ability to liaise with the security team to remediate.
• Authentication: Setting up Role-based Access Control (RBAC) to the respective databases and instances as applicable.
• Capacity Planning: Use industry-standard tools to forecast database resource utilisation as required in a bid to scale as required.
• Performance and Database Tuning: Daily monitoring of databases for performance issues is part of the ongoing system maintenance, where the database should be tweaked to operate as efficiently as possible.

Requirements

• B.Sc. / HND Computer Science or related course(s).
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in the same or related position.
• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA or similar).
• Database schemas and architectural skills.
• SQL database structures, stored procedures, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• MySQL, Visual Basic, VB Script, Java, JavaScript, XML, C#, or PHP skills will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
