Mission / Objectives

• The logistics assistant supports the logistician in implementing and supervising all logistical activities at his/her assigned base.
• In particular, he/she lends support to carrying out urgent activities and the filing and archiving logistical documents.
• He/she temporarily takes on the basic tasks of the Deputy logistics manager in their absence.

List of main activities
Management of supplies:

• Update price lists and vendor databases
• Control Solidarités International purchase procedures
• Verify and process quote requests and IOFs
• Compose and archive purchase folders
• Implement purchases, monitoring adherence to validation regulations and procedures
• Negotiate prices, deadlines and methods of delivery
• Ensure that relationships with suppliers are monitored.

Management of vehicle fleet:

• Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and repair work on mission vehicles
• Draw up the vehicle schedule
• Ensure that a complete breakdown kit is available on board all vehicles
• Check that vehicle logbooks are in place and are used correctly
• Assist in monitoring and consolidating fuel consumption and miles travelled for all vehicles
• Prevent misappropriation of petrol and spare parts
• Monitor the administrative documents for all vehicles.

Management of equipment/telecommunications:

• Assist in installing and securing materials
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining materials
• Organize training sessions in the use of means of communication.

Management and monitoring of IT equipment:

• Update antivirus software
• Provide teams with adequate means for data backup
• Ensure the maintenance and correct use of IT equipment.

Management of supplies:

• Supervise the maintenance and securing of warehouses
• Support the Deputy logistics manager in carrying out stock checks and physical inventories.

Human resource management:

• Assist in the recruitment process and in evaluating the members of the logistical team
• Establish team schedules in conjunction with the Deputy logistics manager
• Ensure or assist with logistical training.

Profile Forsaken
Personal abilities:

• Education: Minimum of ND in Logistics, Accounting or any other related field.
• Professional experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in similar position (NGO/Private or public sector)
• Languages: English and local languages.
• Personal qualities: reliable, honest, very good organization, resistant to stress, good interpersonal skills (communication), team player.
• Technical competencies: Knowledge on procurement and supply chain management.
• Computer Skills: Good Knowledge Good Knowledge of Microsoft office suits, such as Excel, Power Point and Word Application.

Mission / Objectives

• The driver uses Solidarités International vehicles and/or boats for transporting goods and people, according to Solidarités International procedures.
• He/she makes all journeys in accordance with established schedules.

Job
List of main tasks:
Care / vehicle maintenance/monitoring:

• Maintain the vehicle and his/her equipment and ensure the safety of all passengers
• Take part in the basic upkeep of the vehicle, carry out up-to-date care and maintenance of the vehicle according to established procedures and immediately inform his/her line manager of any problems
• Keep the vehicle clean
• Fill in the log-book and monitoring documents
• Supervise the loading and unloading of the vehicle as well as the organization and safety of packages in his/her vehicle.

Security:

• Respect the traffic rules, speed limits and braking distances and adjust his/her speed according to road conditions
• He/she must wear a seat belt, safety helmet or lifejacket at all times and make sure that all passengers follow this rule
• Ensure that visibility equipment is available onboard the vehicle
• Follow the established procedure in the case of an accident
• Before each journey, check that all vehicle documentation, a break-down kit, and other safety equipment is onboard the vehicle and that the communications equipment is in good working order
• Keep base informed by radio of his/her movements and listen to HF and VHF radio
• Stay close to the vehicle and be available at all times
• Ensure that passengers and vehicle return before nightfall
• Ensure that there is enough fuel for each trip
• Do not carry passengers who do not belong to the organization unless a disclaimer has been signed, in agreement with the line manager
• Do not carry passengers carrying arms or wearing military uniform
• Park the vehicle in a suitable place, ‘ready to leave’.

Profile Forsaken

• Education: minimum of ND in transportation or any other field.
• Personal abilities: expert in driving, strong sight vision, ability to read and write.
• Professional experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in similar position (NGO/Private or public sector)
• Languages: English and local languages
• Personal qualities: reliable, honest, very good organization, resistant to stress, good interpersonal skills (communication), team player.
• Technical competencies: valid driver’s licence and certificate of driving from recognized driving school.
