    Logistics & Administrative Officer

    Job Description

    • Will be responsible for implementation of all activities related to general administration, transportation, warehousing, asset management and quality control.
    • S/He is responsible for monitoring and detailed recording of all warehouse and stock movement activities consistent with AHNI procedures requiring complete, accuracy and timely delivery. Ensure proper warehouse management.
    • This includes storage space, condition, and the actual storage of stock. Prepare appropriate forms for Cargo movement ensuring approval by supervisor in consultation with the relevant program coordinator and security coordinator.
    • Coordinate with vendors in ensuring timely delivery of goods from Maiduguri to various field locations and vice versa.
    • Ensure maximum availability and implementation of controls and monitoring mechanisms for all logistics assets such as vehicles and generators and all other technical items using either petrol or diesel to maximize efficiency and ensure regular maintenance.
    • S/He is also responsible for overseeing and monitoring asset management and updating asset list as required.
    • Working closely with field teams in ensuring all items classified as assets are properly tagged and documented for accountability.
    • Process logistics-related requests from the field office in a timely manner and providing feedback within the shortest time possible.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • University Degree in relevant field
    • Technical qualification highly desirable
    • 3-5 years previous experience in similar capacity preferably NGOs
    • Substantial knowledge of standard logistics procedures and practices
    • Good working knowledge of MS office applications; MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook etc.

    Deputy Chief of Party / Technical Director

    Basic Function

    • The Deputy Chief of Party/Technical Director  will be responsible for technical leadership of the program, ensuring the implementation of high-quality, evidence-based interventions, and managing a team of senior technical staff and sub-partners to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all activities and products generated under the project.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and oversee the quality of all technical activities, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure success.
    • Ensure program adherence to internationally accepted technical norms and standards of practices
    • Provide input into and assure that all donor reporting requirements on program impact are met and assist implementing partners/grantees in setting up reporting and tracking systems to provide such information in an efficient and timely manner.
    • Oversee the programs collaborating, learning, and adapting process in collaboration with the Chief of Party.
    • In collaboration with program leadership, apply program learnings in pursuit of adaptive management.
    • Facilitate continuous quality assessment and improvement and ensure that program best practices are documented and disseminated throughout the program cycle.
    • Ensure effective coordination and communication and standards of practice among each partner organization.
    • Ensure high quality program delivery and the cost-effective use of AHNi and USAID resources
    • Ensure provision of management support and technical assistance to grantees on program design, budget/work plan development, and M&E planning.
    • Provide regular written/oral program progress updates, as requested.
    • Liaise with multiple stakeholders and collaborators to share information, coordinate activities, and avoid duplication in the implementation of the programs.
    • Ensure that the most up-to-date information regarding the programs or initiatives shared via a range of mechanisms: including reports, newsletters, and the Internet.
    • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the COP.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • A Master's Degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology or a related field is required (PEPFAR experience preferred); or an MB, BS degree with at least three public health related publications in peer-reviewed journals.
    • At least four years’ experience working as a senior level manager or 12 years’ experience in provision and/or coordination in a public health program in a developing country.
    • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in all components of the HIV/AIDS program including Prevention, Treatment, Care & Support, PMTCT HIV/TB, OVCs as well as cross-cutting areas like HSS etc.
    • Progressive experience with HIV prevention, treatment and/or care and support programming including design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities of similar size and complexity in Nigeria or a similar setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in the provision of quality HIV services in Surge mode and in FCV and hard-to-reach areas.
    • Demonstrated skills in use of technology and other innovations to facilitate the delivery of quality HIV-TB services in developing countries, FCV and remote setting.
    • Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to work well in a team.
    • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing program in resource constrained countries.
    • Demonstrated experience producing quality English-language communications products, such as progress reports, case studies, and research protocols.
    • Experience  interacting  with  developing  country  government,  international  organization,  other  bilateral  donor  and  civil  society representatives, and senior level government officials.
    • At least three years of experience working with USG cooperative agreements or contracts in senior program management capacity.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain professional relationships with civil society organizations and host country government counterparts.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, international donor organizations, NGOs and CBOs is required.
    • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.

    • High competence using common desktop applications and internal systems.

    People Management:

    • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising staff, including providing honest feedback
    • Ability to mentor others.

    Senior Technical Officer - Maternal & Neonatal Health

    Job Description

    • Will ensure high technical standards and quality of MNH services especially G-ANC in selected facilities, develop/adopt technical policies/guidelines/protocols on G-ANC, Malaria in Pregnancy.
    • Develop/adapt capacity building plan and materials on MNH (specifically G-ANC) based on needs and support the SPHCDA, SMOH, LGPHC department and health facilities to implement the plan.
    • S/He will support the SPHCDA/SMoH to organize Joint Integrated Supportive Supervision to selected health facilities, support the government of Yobe State to develop G-ANC policy and related policies, ensure roll-out of G-ANC in all selected Health Facilities, ensure roll-out of Active Case Detection of Malaria in Pregnancy and supervise and guide Technical Officers to provide quality support to government.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • MB.BS / MD / MPH or similar Degrees in Nursing / Midwifery or Community Health Care
    • At least 6 years of working experience in MNH-FP field
    • Demonstrable experience in working closely and coordinating with the SMOH, SPHCDA and other relevant agencies
    • Should have sound technical knowledge on MNH services especially G-ANC, Nigeria health service delivery system
    • Excellent skills in program planning, coordination, facilitation and representation
    • Good facilitation, mentoring and coaching skills
    • Excellent report-writing skills
    • Appropriate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Commitment to spending at least 50% of time in the field are essential requirements.

    Technical Officer - Nutrition

    Job Description

    • Will provide technical and programmatic support to implement high quality care and support activities with primary focus on clinical management of severe Acute malnutrition at the Stabilization Centre (SC) in Banki.
    • S/He will provide day-to-day technical and programmatic support-related nutritional and integrated medical services at the SC guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation programs.
    • The incumbent will contribute to the development of lessons learned from programs and projects related to nutritional and integrated medical services and apply these lessons to modify existing programs and improve the design of new programs.
    • S/He will assist in strengthening a system of reporting on program progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworks, contribute to the development of program strategies, subproject documents and work plans.
    • Sensitize main stakeholders on CMAM and need for support and commitment for long-term access to life saving activities for children; at this stage the overall entry/exit strategy can be shared emphasizing the vital role of the stakeholders to make this happen.
    • Work closely with assigned team to ensure activities are implemented according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MB.BS / MD / PHD, B. Sc Nursing with post-graduate degree, or similar degree with 1 to 3 years relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of humanitarian integrated health program delivery in resource constrained settings.
    • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian health sector systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

    Assistant Technical Officer - Nutrition

    Job Description

    • Assistant Technical Officer - Nutrition is responsible for providing quality nutrition intervention including nutrition rehabilitation among admitted SAM cases and prevent further deterioration through provision of therapeutic feeds, routine and specialized medicines at the Stabilization Centre (SC); nutrition counseling and capacity building of CMAM assistants/community volunteers.
    • The incumbent will engage in and will work with other team members in the delivery of optimal infant and young child feeding in emergency and treatment of Acute Malnutrition (MAM/SAM) children at the OTP within the health facility as deemed necessary and oversee detection of malnutrition at the community level.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • B.Sc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing or Public Health with 1-3 years’ clinical experience is a required
    • MBBS with 1-year experience
    • Experience working with a humanitarian organization.
