JOB SUMMARY: The audit associate is to plan and execute audits which includes planning the audit process, research, reviews and recommendations. He/she is responsible for the audit team and will supervise, motivate and develop the team of junior staff by reviewing their jobs as well as developing their skills and providing training and support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a staff of the firm, you are expected to carry out the following job functions for the firm, its related companies and majorly its clients':

• Learning the proper functioning of audit programs that are approved by the firm;
• Carry out fieldwork properly and documenting all the information related to these field work as per the quality standards;
• Examining clients’ books of account and preparing audited financial statements, under the supervision of the team lead;
• Identifying the problems and risks for assessing the reporting systems of the firm;
• Paying attention to all the details associated with the job of an audit trainee;
• Acquiring the skills that are necessary for excelling in the work of auditing, these include hard-work, observance, dedication and analytical skills;
• Familiarizing with clients in addition to maintaining and developing good relations by giving maximum importance to clients;
• Demonstrating good knowledge of auditing of International Accounting Standards (“IAS”) and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) financial statements; relevant International Standards on Auditing (“ISA”);
• Excellent use of key audit tools software, including case ware, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-PowerPoint and other relevant software;
• Presenting in-house training, regularly, on relevant Audit Assurance and related topics;
• Carrying out fieldwork properly and documenting all the information relating to the field work as per the quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years core/cognate work experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with ICAN or ACCA certification
• Not more than 35 years of age.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly with regards to presenting the results of analyses to management
• Must have an outstanding knowledge of Excel spreadsheets & other Accounting tools
• Must have a very good understanding of the business culture within Nigeria
• Good presentation and documentation skills
• PC skills - MS office, internet explorer, email, etc

JOB SUMMARY: The accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compiling and analysing financial data for the preparation of financial statements, management control and accounting reports etc., at agreed intervals;
• Ownership of the Financial Reporting functions by using the Accounting Software Package employed by the Firm and its Client;
• Ownership of all management accounting functions, including the preparation of full set of management accounts and reports, development and application of management performance reporting templates, performance measurement reports and cash flows management using the Company’s and client’s accounting packages, Microsoft Excel and any other suitable software;
• Performing appropriate review of the Company’s and client’s current chart of accounts for efficiency and recommendation of adjustments where necessary;
• Ensuring the existence, accuracy and completeness of journal entries;
•  Reviewing transactions uploaded on accounting software prior to their posting;
• Reviewing all invoices issued and received to ensure that all are appropriately captured and posted;
• Ensuring adequacy of support documents for transactions uploaded;
• Preparation of Bank and other Accounts Reconciliation Statements as and when required/necessary;
• Ensuring accurate recording and analysis of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses;
• Establishing, monitoring and maintaining suitable accounting control procedures;
• Ensuring that financial information and records are maintained, safeguarded, stored and managed using available hardware and software, applications, technology and other resources in compliance with industry standards, policies and procedures;
• Ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met;
• Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities;
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysis of variances and related activities;
• Developing and maintaining financial data bases;
• Analysing business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues;
• Analysing financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems;
• Monitoring and evaluation of the financial performance of the business; and
• Carrying out other related task, as may be assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
