    School Counsellor

    Summary

    Start-Rite School is looking for a Female Guidance and Counsellor to join their team.

    Objectives of this role

    • Create a supportive environment for students.
    • Balance academics with emotional development in student life.
    • Promote a school-wide culture of support and care.
    • Ensure the student body models maturity and respect.
    • Support as many students as possible to graduation.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess student interests and abilities through individual planning.
    • Advise students on college and career paths.
    • Lead conversations and conflict resolution between students, teachers, and parents.
    • Provide counseling and resources to at-risk students.
    • Organize events to develop student sensitivity to social issues.
    • Report on student well-being to the administration.

    Skills and qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, especially listening.
    • Thorough knowledge of best teaching and counseling practices.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Strong problem-solving attitude.

    English Teacher

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join our secondary school team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in English Language and Literature. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the school curriculum
    • Teach English Language and Literature to secondary school students
    • Assess, record, and report on students’ academic performance and progress
    • Prepare students for internal and external examinations
    • Develop instructional materials and lesson plans
    • Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment
    • Provide guidance and support to students to enhance learning outcomes
    • Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development programs.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education, or a related field
    • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, B.Ed, or equivalent). 
    • Strong command of spoken and written English
    • Good classroom management and communication skills
    • Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.

    Maintance Manager

    Educational Qualification

    Minimum of OND/HND or Bachelor’s Degree in:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Building Technology
    • Facility Management or related field

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in maintenance, facilities management, or technical services; experience in a school is an added advantage. 

    Technical Skills

    • Good knowledge of:
    • Electrical systems and wiring
    • Plumbing systems
    • HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
    • Basic carpentry and general repairs
    • Ability to troubleshoot and fix faults efficiently
    • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment

    Key Competencies

    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks
    • Basic record-keeping and reporting skills
