Job Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze information about newsworthy events
• Evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas
• Edit and/or assist in editing and proofreading
•  Report and write news stories for publication or broadcast, describing the background and details of events.
• Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about a particular story.
• Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Review and evaluate notes taken about event aspects in order to isolate pertinent facts and details.
• Determine a story's emphasis, length, and format, and organize material accordingly.

Skills/Competence Requirement

• Degree in journalism, communication, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' of professional experience in journalism with increasing levels of responsibility
• Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Outstanding ability to write and copy edit all digital content
• To have a broad understanding of current global news trends and issues
