    Job Description

    • Diagnosing and treating animals: Veterinarians examine animals to identify health issues and perform physical exams and lab tests.They then treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, performing surgery, or dressing wounds.
    • Advising animal owners: Veterinarians provide advice to animal owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatments.They may also advise on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, and hygiene.
    • Performing vaccinations: Veterinarians vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
    • Performing routine and emergency procedures: Veterinarians perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.They may also work on out-of-hours emergency cases
    • Maintaining medical records: Veterinarians maintain up-to-date medical records for animals.
    • Enforcing regulations: Veterinarians may enforce government regulations in disease control and food production.
