    Electrical Engineer - Maintenance Services

    Roles and Responsibilities
    The HVAC Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

    • Interpretation of equipment instruction and maintenance manuals, schematic drawings, and diagnosis.
    • Use of diagnostic tools and Electrical hand tools for testing and fault tracing in Hazardous Areas.
    • Asset Integrity assurance, PM/CM inspections, and close-out on SAP.
    • Work preparations and material staging for work executions.
    • Daily proactive monitoring of HVAC systems.
    • Isolation/De-isolation of electrical equipment for Electrical/non-electrical activities.
    • Job Risk Assessments / Permit to Work preparation.
    • Identifying critical spares and follow-up ordering and delivery.
    • Switching in power distribution systems.
    • Promotes site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation, and close-out.
    • Work closely with service Contractor(s) for safe delivery of vendor-based maintenance jobs.
    • Other assignments for continuous improvements (AMS process application: RCAs, MTO, MEC etc.)

    Work Cycle and Conditions:

    • The work location is a land-field-based (Gbaran Ubie integrated Gas plant) accessible via land and air.
    • The job activity period is daily on a 12-hour (7 am to 7 pm) routine over 21 days.
    • Work is Port Harcourt based, and you may be required to attend courses in Shell IA PHC or other PHC locations as advised, as well as other official assignments.
    • There is a standard 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off schedule.
    • The successful candidate will manage their absences with his/her contractor for suitably qualified covers.
    • Personnel may be required to work extended hours as the need arises.

    Requirements

    • OND or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    • Age: < 50 years.
    • Minimum of 5 years working in an oil and gas producing field location.
    • Must have at least five (5) years’ experience working as an HVAC in SPDC.

    Key Skills:

    • Operation and maintenance of Oil and gas electrical equipment and systems.
    • Experience in repairs of High and Low voltage switchboards and systems.
    • Experience in repairs of High and Low voltage electric motors and starters.
    • Operation and maintenance of UPS systems, cathodic protection, earthing, lighting, generators, and transformers.
    • Ability to use causal reasoning methodology to identify the root cause of equipment.
    • Ability to maintain related safety-critical functions.
    • Skilled in the use and interpretation of electrical schematics and Single Line drawings.
    • Skilled in troubleshooting PLC-based control systems.
    • Safe working practices in HVAC systems (electrical safety and equipment isolation, safety and isolation of equipment, and pressure).
    • Experience in Electric Motors and control systems maintenance.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Skill in Electrical Equipment and systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault analysis.

    Soft Skills (Added advantage):

    • Senior Authorized Electrical person is an added advantage.
    • Computer literate (Competent user of Microsoft Office and ability to liaise with programs).
    • Knowledge and use of the SAP tool.

    Field Operator Supervision Services

    Roles and Responsibilities
    The Field Operation’s Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

    • Apply the HSSE policy and legislation applicable to crude oil transfer and export.
    • Lead a team of operators to deliver simple and complex activities in the plant.
    • Report and close out Unsafe Acts/Unsafe Conditions (UA/UC).
    • Prepare daily production reports for DPR.
    • Execute daily communication and shift handovers.
    • Serve as Permit to Work (PTW) signatory.
    • Monitor, control, and record production rates and performance.
    • Start-up wells and facilities (hot and cold start).
    • Perform basic troubleshooting on wells and facilities to ensure stability.
    • Perform daily first-line monitoring of process parameters and variables.
    • Gather daily production data and determine production performance.
    • Manage the shutdown permitry and isolation management process.
    • Apply the emergency response procedure where and when necessary.
    • Adhere to plant operational procedures.
    • Participate in console review meetings, daily notifications, and YTT review meetings.
    • Ensure optimized chemical injection rates are followed as advised.
    • Prepare equipment for maintenance interventions, plant isolation, etc.
    • Collaborate with other disciplines to execute planned activities.
    • Prepare wells and facilities/equipment for (re)commencement of production/processing.
    • Perform monthly well tests and sampling of producing wells.
    • Perform periodic well integrity assurance tasks and activities.
    • Supervise preparation of equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required.

    Work Cycle:

    • The work location is an SPDC land production facility (Gbaran Ubie integrated Gas plant) accessible via land and air.
    • The job activity period is daily on a 12-hour (7 am to 7 pm) routine over 21 days.

    • Must have at least five (5) years experience in GBARAN-UBIE and Kolo-Creek operations, SPDC.

    Soft Skills:

    • Ability to understand and perform production operations (volume, pressure) calculations.
    • Ability to understand units of various variables, i.e., pressure, volume, flow rate, etc.
    • Onsite hazard identification and risk assessment capability.
    • Problem-solving and good analytical skills.
    • Ability to carry out root cause analysis and support failure investigations.

    Skills (Added advantage):

    • Ability to read and interpret process engineering flow schemes (PEFS) and process drawings.
    • Skill level knowledge in running/managing permit coordination.
    • Experience in actuator valves and ESD systems operation.
    • Experience in oil wellhead operations and troubleshooting skills.
    • A good understanding of the working principles of field instrumentation and process automation systems.
    • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
    • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
    • Problem-solving and good analytical skills.
    • Self-motivated and performs under minimal supervision.
    • Demonstration of full knowledge of wellhead systems & integrity management (installation, completion, and testing of various components and seals).

    Senior Supervisor (Operations / Maintenance / Contract Engineering Services)

    Roles and Responsibilities
    The Senior Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

    • Lead a team of operators to execute routine and non-routine production tasks in a live oil and gas plant.
    • Facilitate daily start-of-shift communications and handovers.
    • Supervise daily monitoring and logging of process parameters, and lead first-line maintenance of critical equipment.
    • Support emergency response management as per delegated roles.
    • Ensure performance assurance and proactive health checks on critical equipment as per approved routines.
    • Access and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Cause and Effects Matrix (C&E); Process Flow Scheme (PFS); Functional Logic Diagram (FLD); Instrument Loop Drawings (ILD), and Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) to support safe execution of activities.
    • Collaborate with service contractors to ensure safe delivery of vendor-based/specialist maintenance activities.
    • Promote site safety through continuous hazard identification, mitigation, and close-out.
    • Provide on-the-job coaching to transfer necessary technical skills to other technicians.
    • Prepare daily production reports for DPR.
    • Issue permits as per SPDC PTW procedure.
    • Monitor, control, and document production rates and performance.
    • Oversee start-up operations for wells and facilities (hot and cold start).
    • Participate in console review meetings, daily notifications, and YTT review meetings.
    • Prepare equipment for maintenance interventions, including plant isolation.
    • Work with other disciplines to execute planned activities.
    • Ready wells and facilities/equipment for (re)commencement of production/processing.
    • Perform monthly well tests and sampling of producing wells.
    • Conduct periodic well integrity assurance tasks and activities.
    • Supervise equipment preparation for maintenance, including isolation, draining, steaming, and other required procedures.
    • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure continuous asset integrity.
    • Undertake additional assignments for continuous improvements as necessary.

    Work Cycle:

    • The work location is a land production facility (Gbaran Ubie integrated Gas plant), accessible by land and air.
    • The job schedule is daily on a 12-hour shift (7 am to 7 pm) over a 21-day period.
    • The work is based in Port Harcourt, with occasional training or assignments at Shell IA PHC or other PHC locations as needed.
    • A standard 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off schedule is followed.
    • The successful candidate will manage absences with their contractor to ensure qualified cover.

    Requirements

    • Experience in managing Permit-to-Work systems.
    • Basic knowledge of the PI System.
    • Experience in oil & gas wellhead operations and troubleshooting.
    • Good understanding of the working principles of field instrumentation and process automation systems.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
