Job Description

Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy Church members by:

• Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
• Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.

Assist by providing necessary ordinance clothing for use in temples by patrons, workers, employees and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• 15% - Waits courteously on patrons to provide needed temple clothing in proper sizes. Sees that sufficient clothing is on hand to supply patrons. Tabulates rental costs and receives monies from patrons, may operate cash register.
• 20% - Folds all clothing and assembles packets with robes, aprons, veils, caps and sashes.
• 15% - Operates sewing machine as assigned to size clothing, mends as necessary, and alters clothing as required. Keeps sewing room and cupboards organized and reviews inventories for reordering supplies.
• 10% - Supplies needed clothing to the baptistry as assigned.
• 15% - Operates commercial laundry equipment. Spot cleans clothing with appropriate cleaners and solutions and assists with steam pressing.
• 10% - Sorts soiled clothing and keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.
• 5% - May keep daily production records
• 10% - Performs daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment such as routine cleaning of machinery, filters, vents and screens, etc. and performs other related dutie as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be member of the Church with a current Temple Recommend
• 2 years of linen and laundry experience (commercial or temple)
• 2 years of supervisory and inventory control experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective communicator, results-driven, detail-minded, organized, and capable to work under tight timeline and pressure while delivering meaningful results.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs./23kgs.
• Able to bend, kneel, pull, push, climb, raise arms above head, and stand for long periods of time in physically demanding and fast-paced work environment.
• Proficient in English, written and oral.
• Flexibility in work schedule (including working on some Saturdays, public holidays, or evenings)

Job Description

• Entry-level custodial position. Performs custodial duties required to keep assigned office building, temple, chapels, seminary buildings or other assigned facilities in a clean and orderly condition. May be assigned to help maintain the grounds. May be required to travel from building to building. Maintains assigned work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, etc. as instructed including fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, equipment, windowsills, walls, etc.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, and extraction equipment, etc.
• Sanitize areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructed
• Wet or damp mop floors
• Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling, etc.
• Spot clean carpets, rugs and upholstery
• Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials
• Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.
• Restock supplies
• Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment
• Remove leaves 
• On call responsibilities may be required
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs
• May assist in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requested
• May perform minor repairs
• Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or a higher Diploma in Housekeeping or a related field
• Comprehensive understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 23kg
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time
• Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners, chemicals and equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums etc.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools and make small repairs
• Ability to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision
• Must have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a team
• Ability to understand and write English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety
• Capable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing and able to ask clarifying questions as needed
• Must comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicals 
• Previous experience or knowledge in a similar role preferred
• May be required to work odd hours
• Must be in good health
