    Officer, People Operations

    About the Role

    • The People Operations Team is responsible for all the touchpoints of managing the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to offer letters, contracts, benefits, performance management tools, and employee off-boarding with both local laws and company policies.
    • People Operations uses data from employee lifecycle management to improve employee management and effectiveness, ensuring all components of the People Group are using data to drive decision-making.
    • Effective programming within People Operations ensures that employees are seamlessly supported through their employment touchpoints, and that core employment structures and compensation strategies are used effectively to attract and retain high performing employees within the constraints of business operations. 
    • The Officer, People Operations is responsible for supporting specific administrative, operational and quantitative tasks that contribute to attaining the above objectives of the People Operations Team. This role will report to the Manager, People Operations.

    What You Will Do

    • Separations Process: lead and "quarterback" separations processes, including department, asset, and financial handovers - involves IT, Admin, and Payroll Accountant
    • Onboarding Process: lead and "quarterback" teams from IT, Admin, etc. in ensuring that staff are successfully on boarded
    • Payroll Verification: work with Payroll Accountant to ensure that all contractors and employees are properly represented with the right deductions/additions, if any. Generate monthly report for managers on headcount
    • Staff Benefits: supporting staff with questions about health coverage, managing additions to coverage, dealing with other health coverage issues
    • Asset Management: ensure that all staff have the assets they need; deal with asset recovery processes and exchanges/one-off needs. Heavy interfacing with IT and Admin
    • Leave Management: assist employees with leave, generate monthly report for managers on leave balances
    • Disciplinary Procedures: work with the Manager, People Operations and  Director, People as needed on managing these procedures
    • Staff Documentation: ensuring that offer letters, contracts, probation confirmations, and change of status documents are appropriately handled

    What You Should Have

    • Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
    • Minimum 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation from your undergraduate degree.
    • Strong adherence to systems and processes.
    • Experience working with a culturally and socioeconomically diverse workforce.
    • Excellent email, Excel /spreadsheet, MS Word/word processing skills ; technologically competent/quick learner.

    Officer, IT Operations

    About the Role

    • The Officer, IT Operations role combines the provision of front-line support and superior customer service to our schools and support teams with the responsibility for one of our key functional areas in IT Operations, including asset management, problem management, and support office support.
    • The Officer role rotates between these functional areas, bringing fresh energy and insights to each area, while gaining experience over the different aspects required to ensure our Tech investments deliver on our ambitious mission.
    • It will involve rolling up your sleeves to get the day to day done with ensuring overall delivery excellence for your assigned area.
    • The role reports to the Manager, IT Operations, who has broad oversight over the programme, and involves mentoring and developing Associates.

    What You Will Do

    • Ensure delivery against one of our key functional areas for IT Operations:
    • Teacher Tablets: ensuring high availability of teacher tablets, including proper assignment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
    • Smartphones and Tablets - ensuring high availability of school leaders and field staff devices, including proper assignment, monitoring and management (mobile device management), and procurement.
    • Problem Management - ensuring that all Tech issues ("incidents") are properly tracked and regularly analyzed to identify our key "problems" (recurring incidents) - and to work on sustainable solutions
    • Support Office Support: ensuring the support office is high-functioning - working IT Assets (laptops, printers, etc.), network, firewall, PBX, etc.
    • Provide first point of IT support contact for all staff, covering all hardware, software, and associated peripherals.
    • Proactively troubleshoot using reports and data analytic tools provided - and also contribute back to their evolution and improvement.
    • Deploy IT assets and associated peripherals, including new installations and redeployment of existing equipment.
    • Manage service desk tickets, planning and prioritizing systematically to minimize backlog and ensure operational efficiency.
    • Visit schools to understand pain points and receive feedback.
    • Expedite the repair of hardware faults and software configuration problems, notifying or forwarding to the relevant suppliers in a timely manner.
    • Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff members in all of the above.
    • Provide technical assistance to project teams and undertake technical project roles when required.
    • Demonstrate commitment to and promotion of a culture of service excellence and continual improvement within the IT Department.

    What you should have 

    • A Degree from a recognised university with top marks in a relevant discipline
    • Suitable IT/industry work experience
    • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent technical knowledge of IT hardware, including laptops, mobile devices (esp. Android), and peripherals

    • Ensure top-notch global People service delivery. This means ensuring that all processes that touch employee needs are running smoothly.     • Execute on a data-driven approach across all People activities. It is your responsibility to ensure you and your team are leveraging all available data to drive decision-making.

    • Lead all investigations, meetings, and reviews related to any disciplinary issues of gross misconduct or gross negligence, as well as any appeals or grievances. 
    • Lead on design and execution of child protection and safeguarding mechanisms. 
    • Supervise the Manager, Administration and Manager, People Operations and other People staff as needed to ensure delivery of all People Group programming.

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field with top academic marks; MBA/grad degree a plus.
    • At least eight years experience, including within leadership roles and for rapidly scaling companies - across operational and project managerial capacities.
    • Strong analytical thinker, ideally with previous experience in board commercial and operational areas.

    Project Director

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a talented, motivated and adaptable individual to support the Managing Director and the senior leadership team as Project Director. The ideal candidate is a multifaceted individual who will work closely with the Managing Director in a job shadow capacity.
    • As a co-strategist, implementer, and trusted advisor, the successful candidate will lead execution of strategic initiatives for the Managing Director and leadership team and will also ensure streamlined activities within the organization to improve the daily management of the organization based on the priorities of the Managing Director.
    • This is a highly hands-on and analytical role, involving intense program management and broad technical knowledge covering financial management, supply chain and school operations management. The Project Director should have a proven track record of exceptional performance driving strategic initiatives and projects to completion.
    • This role reports to the Managing Director and VP Operations. You will be part of a leadership team composed of various directors. The School Inspection Manager/Director, who in turn supervises a team of field associates, will report to you.

    What You Will Do

    • Ensure that the programme’s termly and annual milestones are attained on schedule
    • Manage & update the programme operational calendar
    • Ensure appropriate follow through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by the Managing Director by working with the parties responsible for implementation
    • Attend functional team meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connect dots with others across the organization
    • Assess inquiries directed to the Managing Director, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage
    • Assist the Managing Director in facilitating effective decision-making
    • Continuously improve the programme’s performance
    • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives
    • Prepare periodic business performance and market analysis, business trends and provide insight with the aim to increase operational efficiency
    • Deliver business planning processes (forecasts, budgets, long-range plans) including analysis of variances with relevant commentary to support management decision making
    • Translate business requirements to technical requirements. This includes using powerful analysis and modeling tools to match strategic business objectives with practical technical solutions
    • Create organizational dashboards and reports to support effective decision making and cross-company communications of business performance status
    • Monitor and review departmental spending vs. budget to ensure optimal spending and ensure funds are directed towards projects that generate the highest return on investment (ROI)
    • Ensure that the School Inspection Team (our internal quality assurance team) is driving compliance to school policies and processes at the school level
    • Oversee the activities of the School Inspection team which is in charge of auditing our school operations (facilities, materials & supplies, personnel and processes) against our set of standards and policies to ensure all schools maintain an environment where teaching and learning thrive
    • Other responsibilities as determined by the Managing Director.

    What You Should Have

    • A bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record. Quantitative undergraduate degrees, and advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred
    • 5+ years of executive level experience in reputable companies from which you have outstanding records of professional achievement. You should have at least one experience that required highly independent work in an exceedingly challenging environment such as in management consulting, finance or in a start-up
    • Excellent project management skills including being incredibly organized with calendars, gantt charts, trackers, and have the ability to systematically follow up and support senior leaders with their deliverables across a broad set of projects/strategic initiatives
    • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, operations, HR, supply chain, customer experience management, finance, project management
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills. You need to be able to see patterns, be a fast thinker and a good decision maker
    • Advanced MS Excel/spreadsheets skills, and mastery of presentation/reporting tools such as MS Word/Google docs & MS Powerpoint/Google slides
