    Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

    DUTIES:

    • Assist in monitoring information based on predetermined indicators, data from the target groups on regular basis and collaborate with WorldFish research program teams.
    • Prepare regular schedules for data and information collection from the target groups.
    • Ensure proper storage/filing of M&E document including questionnaire, monitor reports, datasets among others.
    • Participate in regular data verification exercises to assess the quality of data reported and address any anomalies identified.
    • Collaborate with WorldFish Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to assist to develop databases on project activities.
    • Support the monitoring and evaluation of WorldFish implemented project, focus group discussions and other data collection method required.
    • Work as part of the team, providing support where necessary in other administrative, information and management tasks.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
    • Work in collaboration with TAAT Compact leader to ensure TAAT Phase II expected results are achieved.
    • Assist in TAAT Phase II data repository related task needed for learning in the program using the digitalized M&E system.
    • Assist in capturing activities, output and impact which results are aligned with AFDB Feed Africa’s objectives.
    • Ensure rigorous and realistic monitoring of capacity development program.
    • Support planning, reporting processing, harmonization of KPIs in alignment with the Feed Africa strategy.
    • Assist stakeholders understand how the program is progressing and facilitates learning and feedback mechanisms.
    • Assist in proactively providing management with pertinent information about how the program progress as well as generate new ideas which can direct the development of new initiatives.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION:                        

    BSc/HND in Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agriculture or any other related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aquaculture related data gathering and recording, preferably in donor funded or not for profit set up.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Be experience in conducting farm surveys and field data collection, data storage, preferably in donor funded or not for profit environment set up.
    • Experience in using computerized data storage and analytical packages such as Excel, SPSS and data processing.
    • Have the ability to think clearly and analytically, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, solving problems, and making timely and appropriate decisions;
    • Have excellent communication skills verbal and written in English;
    • Proficient in the use of ICT packages including Windows, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Have excellent interpersonal, networking, and negotiation skills with staff, value chain actors counterparts, and partners.
    • Be accurate, detail orientated and have good communication skills (verbal and written).

    Technical Assistant

    DUTIES:

    • Work in close collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant in data recording and entry for monitoring parameters and production data to support specific research or management projects.
    • Assist in compiling and filing event registers and updating data in the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system.
    • Assist in the implementation of farm characterization survey in Nasarawa State to identify smallholder farmers as potential two to three SME GIFT hatchery operators and 100 out grower farmers Nasarawa.
    • Assist Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to set up two to three SME GIFT hatchery operators in Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa States.
    • Assist Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to organize identified grow-out farmers in Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa to start the GIFT grow-out pilots.
    • Assist the finance team in the procurement of hapa nets and feeds for the GIFT SME hatchery operators and grow-out farmers.
    • Raise issues with the Officer-in-Charge of Nigeria for trouble shooting.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    Research Assistant

    DUTIES:

    • Liaise with the Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to monitor the GIFT parent stock transferred and maintained in a bio secure facility, and functional GIFT brood stock quarantine facility at Premium Aquaculture Ltd., and raising F1 to produce F1 broodstock and produce F2 progeny.
    • Liaise with the Delta Coordinator, and Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer and work with the identified consultants to set up two to three SME GIFT hatchery operators in Delta, Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa States.
    • Liaise with the Delta Coordinator and Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to organise identified grow out farmers in Delta, Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa to start the GIFT grow out pilots.
    • Assist in procurement of hapa nets and feed for the GIFT SME hatchery and grow out operators.
    • Assist in the procurement of feed for the grow out pilots.
    • Assist in the implementation of inputs distribution to pilot grow out and SME hatchery farmers in Delta, Kwara, Nasarawa and Ogun States.
    • Raise issues with the Officer-in-Charge of Nigeria for trouble shooting.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION:

    BSc/HND in Fisheries and Aquaculture, Animal Science or any other related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in aquaculture farm operations particularly in tilapia performing similar role in in a well-structured environment.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Be experience in aquaculture farm data collection and farm record keeping and monitoring, preferably in donor funded or not for profit environment set up.
    • Be experience in fish breeding, quality control of fish fry and fingerlings and transportation, and calculation of fish feed rations.
    • Be experience in working with fish value chain actors
    • Computer literacy and basic data processing experience.  
    • Be experience in using computerized data storage and analytical packages such as Excel, SPSS      
    • Have the ability to think clearly and analytically, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, solving problems, and making timely and appropriate decisions;

    Administrative and Finance Assistant

    DUTIES:

    • Assist in processing travel claims, raise travel requests, monitor travel expenses/liquidation, prepare voucher and ensure storage.
    • Retrieve after each trip Travel details from staff/from the Travel Unit for proper review.
    • Prepare advance management and follow-up for refund.
    • Maintain various registers such as asset, tender, cheque issue, file movement and manages consultants' records.
    • Review, update the monthly procurement reports and send monthly reports to the accountant.

    DUTIES:

    • Support the Accountant in the preparation of donor project reports.
    • Upload reports/relevant documents therein monthly into the organization’s software and manages consultants' records.
    • Liaise with units to retrieve and obtain monthly financial support documents (electronic and hard copies) for all the projects.
    • Review/update the monthly procurement reports- send monthly reports to the accountant.

    Accounting Assistant (Budget)

    DUTIES:

    • Assist in the review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounts closing such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepayment, General Ledgers (GL) open items, etc.
    • Assist the Accounts Manager in budget monitoring and budget revision.
    • Assist the Accounts Manager in conducting fund management, and cash flow Management of the projects
    • Maintain hard and electronic files and update database systems ensuring timely and appropriate recording, safekeeping, and disposal of confidential information.
