    Communication Officer

    Position Summary

    • The Communication Officer will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing all project’s communication strategies in the state.
    • The role includes creating compelling content to highlight project impacts, managing media and stakeholder relationships, overseeing visibility activities, and ensuring consistent branding across all platforms.
    • The officer will support advocacy and public engagement efforts to amplify GPD’s mission and enhance the visibility of all interventions in the state.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement communication plans to promote GPD’s programs, success stories, and organizational image in the state.
    • Collaborate with the Communication Coordinator and IT Manager to develop, edit, and disseminate press releases, human interest stories, and newsletters on field activities for publication on GPD’s website and social media platforms.
    • Develop regular engaging content of activities in the state and sharing with the Communication Coordinator and IT Manager.
    • Laise with the Communication Coordinator to Produce high-quality communication materials flyers, and infographics for state activities.
    • Support program teams in documenting project activities and capturing stories of change from the field.
    • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders.
    • Ensure that all communication materials adhere to donor visibility guidelines and GPD’s brand standards.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly communication reports.
    • Support GPD resource mobilization
    • Carry out other task assigned by management

    Qualifications & Experience

    • BSc / HND in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience in communications, media relations, or advocacy, preferably within NGOs
    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to produce content for diverse audiences.
    • Basic photography and videography skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent writing and editing skills for developing press releases, human interest stories, newsletters, and social media content.
    • Basic graphic design and visual storytelling abilities, including use of tools like Canva or Photoshop, plus photography and videography skills.
    • Ability to translate complex project information into compelling stories and messages tailored for diverse audiences.
    • Good understanding of branding and donor visibility guidelines to ensure consistent and compliant communication outputs.
    • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, able to build relationships with media outlets, partners, and community stakeholders.

    Field Officer

    Job Summary

    • Global Peace Development (GPD) is seeking for an experienced Field Officers with strong knowledge of fieldwork and community dynamics to support ongoing activities across various locations.
    • The Field Officers will support project implementation and community engagement activities, working closely with GPD Team, local stakeholders to advance the objectives of the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as GPD’s primary field representative, working with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders.
    • To engage directly with community members in implementing projects activities.
    • Facilitate data collection across the assigned district.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of activity reports, photographs, and community feedback to GPD’s project team.
    • Maintain clear records and documentation of all field activities.
    • Submit daily or weekly progress reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps.
    • Carry out other task assigned by the management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BSc/HND in Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Crop Science, Animal Science, sociology or related field.
    • Previous experience in fieldwork, data collection, or community mobilization.
    • Strong familiarity with the local language and cultural context of Edo North or Edo Central.
    • Must reside in or be very familiar with the senatorial district of preference.

    • Conduct routine data collection, verification, and analysis to track progress against targets.

    • Prepare and submit timely monitoring and evaluation reports, success stories, and learning briefs.
    • Support in training and mentoring project staff on data collection methodologies and reporting.
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
    • Collaborate with program teams to incorporate lessons learned into program designs and delivery.

    Livelihood Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Livelihood Officer, under the direct supervision of the State Coordinator, will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing social and community development initiatives aimed at enhancing the livelihoods and economic support of target beneficiaries within the targeted areas.
    • The officer will lead the implementation of community livelihood activities that are designed to improve household income, strengthen local skills, and foster sustainable economic opportunities.
    • The Livelihood Officer will also support the documentation of project results, lessons learned, and contribute to building the capacity of communities to sustain their livelihood activities beyond the project lifespan.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement livelihood interventions in line with project objectives, local needs, and donor requirements.
    • Mobilize and conduct participatory needs assessments and identify target beneficiaries.
    • Organize capacity building training sessions, demonstrations, and mentoring on livelihood skills.
    • Provide technical support to beneficiaries on income generating activities, value chains, and market linkages.
    • Collect and analyze data on project activities, outcomes, and impacts; contribute to reports, success and stories
    • Prepare timely activity reports, document lessons learned, and flag challenges or risks to the project manager.
    • Support the organization's resource mobilisation effort around social and economic livelihood.

    Qualification and Experience

    • B.Sc / HND qualification in Agriculture, Agriculture Economics, Sociology, Development Studies and other social sciences
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant field-based project management, particularly in the area of livelihood and community development
    • Experience with a National NGO is an added advantage.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgment and decisions and offer innovative solutions
    • Strong relations management abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally.

    Programme Officer, Gender and Peace Building

    Position Summary

    • The Gender and Peace Building Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that promote gender equality, social inclusion, and conflict prevention within target communities in the state.
    • This role involves working closely with community members, local leaders, women’s groups, youth groups, and other stakeholders to build capacity, facilitate dialogue, and support initiatives that foster peaceful and inclusive societies.
    • The officer will report directly to the Program Manager, Gender and Peace Building.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and implement gender sensitive interventions and peace building initiatives in line with project objectives.
    • Facilitate community dialogues, sensitization campaigns, and training sessions on gender equality, women’s empowerment, social cohesion, and conflict resolution.
    • Support the establishment or strengthening of community structures that promote peaceful coexistence and gender equity.
    • Identify and document gender and conflict related issues within communities and propose context-appropriate solutions.
    • Collaborate with local authorities, traditional leaders, and civil society partners to advance gender and peace building objectives.
    • Integrate gender mainstreaming and conflict sensitive approaches into all program activities.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, challenges, and success stories.
    • Ensure project activities comply with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and local cultural dynamics.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • BSc/HND in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, or related field.
    • 4 - 6 years work experience.
    • Design and implement gender-sensitive interventions and peacebuilding initiatives in line with project objectives.
    • Facilitate community dialogues, sensitization, and training sessions on gender equality, women’s empowerment, social cohesion, and conflict resolution.
    • Support the establishment and strengthening of community structures that promote peaceful coexistence and gender equity
    • Identify and document gender and conflict-related issues within communities and propose context-appropriate solutions.
    • Integrate gender mainstreaming and conflict-sensitive approaches into all program activities.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, challenges, and success stories.
    • Ensure project activities comply with donor policies and local cultural dynamics.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong understanding of gender equality concepts, frameworks, and practical approaches to mainstreaming gender in community development and peacebuilding.
    • Good knowledge of conflict analysis, prevention, and resolution strategies, including community dialogue and mediation techniques.
    • Ability to facilitate trainings, focus group discussions, and community sensitization sessions on gender and peacebuilding topics.
    • Familiarity with cultural and social dynamics that affect gender roles and conflict in the project area.
    • Excellent report writing, documentation, and storytelling skills to capture success stories and lessons learned.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
