DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate all account maintenance activities, i.e. Static/Master Data Maintenance such as creation of new accounts and appropriate GL mapping, managing restrictions on accounts as required for product setup or modifications

• Review of Product Papers, Business Requirement Documents, User Story Document and all such change requests/ change management documents to ensure accuracy in accounting setup and accounting treatment, correctness of accounting entries, management of financial risk and operational risk issues.
• Designing all required accounting procedures for products and processes
• Operate the change control process and ensure Chart of Account standards, GL Control Policy accounting standards and policies, regulatory requirements, tax laws, and all other relevant policies are adhered to.
• Implement financial accounting process improvements as may be required
• Undertake periodic post implementation reviews on existing and new products in conjunction with Team

Lead, Accounts and Systems

Participating in Controlled Live Test and User Acceptance Test, and all such other testing sessions as part of change management and serves as the expert on all accounting and financial control matters on all product development projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Education & Minimum Education: 

• First degree in Applied or Social Sciences, Higher Degree/ Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or its equivalent §

Experience

• Minimum experience: 8-10 years of relevant financial services, operations, consulting and financial control functions.

• Handle all account maintenance activities i.e. Static Data Maintenance such as creation of new accounts and appropriate GL mapping, managing restrictions on accounts, and proper monitoring to ensure that accounts have the appropriate restrictions
• Cocreate Product Papers, Business Requirement Documents and User Story Document and document accounting entries and accounting procedures for products and processes
• Participate in Controlled Live Test and User Acceptance Test sessions and reviewing accounting entries to prevent post implementation issues.
• Follow up with product and technology teams to ensure that exceptions and errors are dealt with on an accurate and timely basis.
• Participate in change control process and ensure Chart of Account standards, GL Control Policy accounting standards and policies, regulatory requirements, tax laws, and all other relevant policies are adhered to.
• Proposing accounting, revenue, and other such financial control are subject to controls which ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Proposing financial accounting process improvements as may be required

Education

• Minimum Education: First degree in Applied or Social Sciences, Higher Degree/ Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or its equivalent

Experience

• Minimum experience: 5 years of relevant banking operations, knowledge of banking products, knowledge of accounting standards and processes, knowledge of banking regulation, from financial services or consulting
