    Provost

    Duties

    • The Provost is the Chief Executive, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the College. The successful candidate would be expected to provide the required Academic, Administrative, and Professional Leadership for the College in executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the attainment of objectives for which the institution was established.
    • He/she has statutory power to exercise general authority over the staff and students for direction and discipline in the College.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) from a recognized university in a field relevant to at least one program in the College;
    • He/she should be a registered and active member of a Professional Association in the field of Education.
    • Possession of a professional teaching qualification, a minimum of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), in addition to registration as a Professional Teacher with TRCN, is mandatory;
    • Candidate must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment;
    • Candidate must have held a senior teaching/research and top administrative post in a College of Education system as evidence of ability to manage human and material resources;
    • Candidate must show evidence of a good track record in result- oriented research reaching high National and International status in their research achievements, as evident in scholarly publications;
    • Candidate must be a Chief Lecturer with at least five (5) years cognate experience;
    • Candidate must be of good conduct and character, possess a sense of discipline, dedication, drive, and resourcefulness, and be able to command the respect and loyalty of the members of staff and students of the College.
    • He/She must be somebody who is not likely to foster personal, social, ethnic, political, religious, and other sectional interests;
    • Candidate must be proficient in Information Communication Technology packages and capacities;
    • Evidence of Community Service, both local and National Development; and
    • Candidate must be a man/woman of Vision, a Goal-getter, and one who can execute a strategic plan for the college.

    Vision and Mission Statement

    • The candidate must submit, in clear terms, in not more than two (2) pages, his/her Vision and Mission statement for the College in the next 5 years.

    Tenure of Appointment

    • The appointment of the Provost is for a single term of five (5) years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.

    Salary

    • Consolidated salary for Provost of the Federal Colleges of Education will be applicable.

    Condition of Service

    • The successful candidates will be entitled to the privileges and benefits of Principal Officers as specified in the terms and conditions of service for Staff of Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria and other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act, and in consultation with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).

    Registrar

    Job Details

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the general administrative work and running of the College, as well as the Secretary to the Governing Council, the Management Committee, the Academic Board, and any Committee of the Council.

    Duties

    • The candidate for the position is expected to, among other responsibilities, keep the College records, conduct and receive all correspondence of Council and Management.
    • He/she is expected to perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.

    Qualifications
    The candidate for the post of Registrar must possess the following:

    • Candidates should possess a good Bachelor's Degree in any of the Social Sciences or Art Subjects from any recognized institution of higher learning.
    • Must possess a relevant Master's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least eighteen (18) years of cognate work experience.
    • Must have been a Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 15
    • Evidence of continuous mandatory professional development;
    • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT);
    • Must be a member of a recognized Professional body in the relevant field; and
    • A successful candidate must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

    • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

    Duties

    • The candidate for the position is expected to, among other responsibilities, plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the operations of the financial system of the College.
    • He is expected to perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.

    Qualifications
    The candidate for the post of the Bursar must possess the following:

    • A good Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in Accountancy or Finance, from a recognized institution of higher learning;
    • Must possess a relevant Master's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least eighteen (18) years of cognate work experience.
    • Must be a member of a recognized Professional body in the relevant field;
    • Must have been a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDIS 15;
    • Evidence of continuous mandatory professional development;
    • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT); and the Successful candidate must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

    College Librarian

    Job Detail

    • The College Librarian shall be responsible to the Provost for the administration of the College Library and for coordinating the Library services in the teaching units of the College.

    Duties

    • The candidate for the position is expected to, among other responsibilities, perform overall Library policy, contacts, and liaising with Departments on book requirements, prepare Library budgets, give professional advice on Library matters, and perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.

    Qualifications
    The candidates for the post of the College Librarian must possess the following:

    • A good Bachelor's Degree with Master's in Library Science (MILS) from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience and registration with Professional Library body; or a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Library and Information Science with at least twelve (12) years cognate work experience with evidence of registration with Professional Library body;
    • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT);
    • Present evidence of sound human relations,
    • Professional competence, Industrial integrity, efficient management of human and material resources;
    • Must be Chief Librarian or a Deputy Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years;
    • Must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment; and the Candidate must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable Journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer.
