    Instrumentation & Control Engineer-AEL

    Accountabilities:

    • Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas production, processing, and transportation facilities.
    • Develop and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), logic diagrams, and instrument loop diagrams.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering.
    • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and DCSs to optimize operational processes.
    • Specify and select instruments and control devices, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors.
    • Oversee the installation, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control systems.
    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability and accuracy of equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
    • Implement advanced process control strategies to enhance efficiency and operational performance.
    • Integrate safety instrumented systems (SIS) to ensure compliance with safety integrity level (SIL) standards.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and risk assessments.
    • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including engineering reports, manuals, and operational guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of instrumentation systems, modifications, and upgrades.
    • Provide technical support during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

    Professional Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the oil and gas industry, with upstream experience preferred.
    • Professional certification in Instrumentation and Control (e.g., ISA, TUV Functional Safety Engineer) is an advantage.
    • Proven experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (e.g., HART, MODBUS, FOUNDATION Fieldbus).
    • Proficiency in control system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, and API guidelines, API 670.
    • Expertise in the use of simulation and modeling tools for system optimization.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments and manage multiple priorities.

    Budget & Financial Analyst

    The Budget & Financial Analyst assists in managing Egbin’s budget preparation and monitoring process, including the preparation of relevant reports to support Management’s decision-making.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in circulating the annual business planning guidelines and provide assistance to other budget holders during the planning process in conjunction with the performance and planning unit.
    • Develop a consolidated budget pack for review and approval by the Management Account & Budget Manager.
    • Monitor approved budget allocations, revenue, and expenditure and highlight variances for the attention of the Head, Management Account & Budget.
    • Carry out primary review and validation of budget data presented by various units and or highlight major inconsistencies/shortcomings.
    • Carry out initial review & analysis for consistency of data, validation with other operational information and present to the head of the section.
    • Ensure the reporting of the monthly financial performance of each unit and business generating centres (BGCs)
    • Carry out variance analysis of major performance parameters with that of budget forecasts, and highlight underlying business/operational causes of variation 
    • Carry out studies and research of relevant authoritative sources of macroeconomic data to gather basic information on budgetary assumptions.
    • Prepare first drafts of relevant periodic and/ or ad hoc reports.
    • Assist in generating monthly management accounts, business performance statements, noting major deviations from budget, and risk areas.
    • Participate in the analysis of operational results and proffer recommendations to management.
    • Obtain key insights on industry (competitors) and economic analysis, and recommend areas of improvement (If any).
    • Provide analytic insight using trend analysis on key operational performance and accounting indices.
    • Prepares draft financial forecast to aid business decision-making.
    • Prepare monthly financial investment analysis and suggest best alternatives for fund based on economic performance.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Budget, Planning and Business Performance.
    • Implement data protection policies and practices of Egbin Power Plc.
    • Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws, and data protection policies.
    • Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations.
    • Ensure awareness, understanding and application of QHSE policy and application of departmental objectives.
    • Ensure awareness of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 &45001:2018) and implications of not conforming with the requirements.
    • Understand and identify hazards, risks, environmental aspect and Impact as it is related to their jobs.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related discipline.
    • Candidates must possess an ACA qualification. Additional certifications such as CIMA, CPA, or ACCA are an added advantage.
    • Three (3) to seven (7) years’ experience with at least two (2) years in Budget and Planning or similar field.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the power sector.
    • Good understanding of micro and macroeconomic indices and their impact on the business.
    • Advance financial and accounting knowledge, including understanding of IFRS, finance best practices and other applicable reporting and accounting standards.
    • Working knowledge of accounting packages and systems, including a standard ERP software.
    • Very sound business acumen – financial and commercial knowledge.
    • Good report writing and presentation skills.
    • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze large volumes of data and strong problem-solving skills

    Lead, Project Controls and QA/QC Engineer

    The responsibility of the Lead, Project Controls and QA/QC Engineer is to establish and maintain robust project control frameworks that assure successful project delivery. The role ensures that the resources required to execute multiple cross-functional engineering projects are effectively aligned with established control standards and governance requirements.

    Additionally, the Lead, Project Controls and QA/QC Engineer is responsible for providing quality assurance and related support functions across projects.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Effectively manage the project control team, including cost engineers, planners and quality assurance and control.
    • Monitor and control program compliance with respect to project contractual obligations.
    • Support and advise on the definition of project controls and earned value management policies, procedures and standards required to deliver projects.
    • Support program integration, governance, formats, plan optimisation, and project controls best practices.
    • Advise and consult on the application of effective planning variance, estimates at completion and critical path analysis.
    • Support the development of integrated master schedules for specific programs in Primavera and/or Microsoft projects that reflect all interface milestones and activity duration from multiple contractors’ schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule.
    • Provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.
    • Work closely with the project manager, commercial manager and project quality assurance and control to maximise the potential of the project.
    • Support the development of requirements for specific resource-loaded schedules.
    • Ensure project controls processes are consistently applied across the projects.
    • Manage governance to ensure robust control and schedule performance for the agreed scope of work across integrated programs managed across multiple suppliers.
    • Implement data protection policies and practices of Egbin Power Plc.
    • Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws, and data protection policies.
    • Undertake a data protection impact assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations
    • Ensuring the Project controls team produces weekly/monthly reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
    • Develop and regularly update project LFIs.
    • To follow up on reported project deviations and non-conformances to ensure necessary corrective actions are adequately taken to prevent recurrence
    • To ensure the implementation of risk-based thinking in project management.
    • To propose recommendations to management for improvements and cost savings within the area of responsibility.
    • To conduct surveillance and reviews at project sites to maintain quality standards and requirements.
    • To ensure the implementation of risk-based thinking in project management.
    • Responsible for the overall health of the capital projects portfolio, and the development and application of a project management system
    • Responsible for maximising project value through an opportunity realisation process.
    • To carry out oversight quality functions on capital projects to ensure compliance with all quality standards.
    • Ensure awareness, understanding and application of QHSE policy on projects, ensure the integration of the IMS requirements (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018) into departmental processes.
    • Engage, direct and support persons/contractors/departments to understand and identify hazards, risks, environmental aspect and Impact as it is related to their jobs.
    • Ensure that the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018) achieves its intended results within departmental processes.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
    • Minimum of 7 years cognate work experience in a similar role.
    • Postgraduate certification in Project Management is a must-have.
