We are excited to welcome a strategic and results-oriented Head of Finance (HOF) to steer the financial management of our logistics company, which operates a fleet of over 3,000 trucks located at our factory in Obajana, Kogi state.
The HOF will be instrumental in fostering transformational change, promoting financial discipline, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting long-term growth. This position reports directly to the Director of Transport and works closely with the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Partner with the director of transport and various business team leaders to drive business performance, operational efficiency, and overall shareholder value.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario planning to support expansion, fleet financing, and new business opportunities.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track profitability per truck, route efficiency, and overall asset utilization.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international accounting and tax regulations.
Treasury, Capital & Risk Management
- Manage company’s capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow to support daily operations.
- Identify financial risks related to fuel costs, maintenance, and insurance; implement mitigation strategies.
Operational Finance & Cost Control
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across fuel, maintenance, spare parts, and logistics operations.
- Implement strong financial controls in procurement, stores, and parts management.
- Partner with operations to reduce downtime, increase truck availability, and improve return on assets.
Team Leadership & Governance
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team with strong analytical and operational capabilities.
- Strengthen internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years’ progressive experience in finance leadership, with at least 5 years as a senior finance executive in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or asset-heavy industries.
- Proven experience in large-scale fleet management, financing, and operational cost control.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/SAP systems, financial modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

An experienced Inventory Management Specialist in Dangote Cement Transport plays a critical role in managing inventory, ensuring availability of parts, and supporting fleet operations through effective supply chain and logistics practices.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory of truck parts, consumables, and spares across multiple depots or terminals.
- Ensure accurate stock records, timely replenishment, and minimum stock-outs.
- Coordinate with maintenance/workshop teams to meet fleet servicing needs.
- Oversee inward and outward movement of goods, tools, tyres and critical assets.
- Implement inventory control systems (e.g., ERP, barcode tracking, bin card system).
- Drive cost optimization and reduce wastage/pilferage.
- Manage vendor relationships and support procurement on stock forecasting.
- Enforce compliance with safety, quality, and audit standards.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years managing stores/warehouses in a fleet, transport, haulage, or construction environment.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on with inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or transport-specific ERPs).
- Strong understanding of truck components, tyres, and service parts.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and parts planning.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Analytical and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-moving logistics operations.
Certifications (preferred):
- CIPS, warehouse management certification, or supply chain/logistics training.
