    Refractory Mason

    Location: Obajana Plant, Obajana Plant, Nigeria

    Job Summary

    The Refractory Mason at Dangote Cement Plc is repsonsible for carrying out installation, maintenance, and repair of refractory linings in kilns, furnaces, and other high-temperature equipment to ensure optimal plant performance, safety, and operational efficiency.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Install refractory bricks, castables, and insulation materials in kilns, cyclones, preheaters, and related equipment.
    • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and thickness in line with technical specifications.
    • Carry out anchoring and lining activities as required.
    • Inspect refractory linings for wear, cracks, and damage.
    • Remove defective refractory materials and replace with new installations.
    • Perform patching and emergency repairs during plant operations and shutdowns.
    • Prepare surfaces prior to installation (cleaning, leveling, etc.).
    • Mix and apply refractory materials (castables, mortar, gunning mixes).
    • Ensure proper curing and drying of installed materials.
    • Conduct routine checks to ensure integrity of refractory linings.
    • Adhere strictly to installation procedures and manufacturer specifications.
    • Report defects and recommend corrective actions.
    • Follow all plant safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
    • Work safely in high-temperature and confined environments.
    • Maintain good housekeeping of work areas.
    • Provide feedback on work completed and materials used.
    • Support supervisors in tracking maintenance activities and shutdown work.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of Trade Test Certification.
    • At least 3–5 years experience as a Refractory Mason in a cement plant or heavy industrial environment.
    • Proven experience working on kilns, furnaces, or similar high-temperature equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of refractory materials and installation techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
    • Good physical strength and stamina.

    Project Controls Director (Dangote Construction & Heavy Industries)

    JOB SUMMARY

    Establish and lead an integrated project controls function across the EPC/construction portfolio, covering end-to-end planning, cost management, progress tracking, risk and change control, forecasting, and executive-level (CEO) performance reporting to ensure accurate, timely, and decision-ready project insights. 

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establish and govern the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) across all projects, including critical path analysis, look‑ahead planning, and validation of recovery and acceleration plans.
    • Lead enterprise‑wide cost control, including budget management, commitments, cash‑flow forecasting, cost‑to‑complete, and earned value management (EVM).
    • Define and enforce standardised progress measurement systems across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
    • Develop and maintain portfolio‑level dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports, ensuring data integrity, reporting discipline, and executive readiness.
    • Prepare CEO and Board review packs, translating complex project data into clear insights, risks, trends, and decision recommendations.
    • Own and govern risk registers, issue logs, change control, and trend management, ensuring early identification and mitigation of project risks.
    • Interface closely with Commercial and Contracts teams on early‑warning notices, claims evaluation, and substantiation or defence of contractual positions.
    • Provide independent challenge to project teams and contractors by scrutinising progress claims, forecasts, recovery plans, and cost assumptions.

    Key Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Finance, Cost Management or related discipline. Equivalent HND may be considered with exceptional major-project controls leadership experience.
    • Professional certification preferred: AACE CCP / CEP / EVP / PSP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent recognized project controls credential.
    • Advanced competency in Primavera P6 is mandatory. Strong Excel capability is mandatory. Power BI or equivalent dashboarding capability is strongly preferred.
    • Strong command of EPC / construction contracting, baseline control, progress measurement, cost forecasting, change control and claims-sensitive documentation.
    • Minimum 18 years project controls experience in EPC, EPCM, PMC, construction, industrial, infrastructure, energy, cement, refinery, power, port, rail, roads or large building programs.
    • Minimum 8 years leading project controls teams, preferably across a portfolio or multi-project environment rather than a single-site-only role.
    • Proven experience creating or recovering controls systems from low-maturity environments, including WBS, CBS, coding structures, reporting calendars and data-quality rules.
    • Track record in executive reporting, monthly project reviews, schedule recovery analysis, cost-to-complete reviews and contractor performance challenge.

    Functional Competencies

    • Experience on industrial plants, refinery, petrochemical, cement, power, ports, infrastructure or large civil / building programs.
    • Forensic planning, delay analysis, extension-of-time analysis, disruption analysis or claims-defense experience.
    • Experience with SAP, Oracle, EcoSys, Aconex, Primavera Unifier, MS Project Server, Power BI, Tableau or comparable enterprise systems.
    • Prior owner / client-side controls leadership experience in addition to EPC contractor experience.
    • Ability to design a practical controls organization, reporting calendar and governance model for a Lagos-led project portfolio

    Job Summary

    Design software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs; conferring with stakeholders and IT Management; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; supporting Intranet sites built on SharePoint with experience in Power Apps & Power Automate; Manages system security, system patching and upgrade.

    • Professional engineering registration required or strongly preferred depending on sign-off authority: COREN registration for Nigeria-based engineering practice or recognized international Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer credential with eligibility for Nigerian recognition.
    • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to project scope, such as API, ASME, ASTM, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS / Eurocodes, ISO and discipline-specific design standards.

    Functional Competencies

    CNG Truck Driver (Inbound Logistics)

    Job Summary 

    We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious CNG Truck Drivers to manage the inbound logistics of raw materials in our cement manufacturing plant. They will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty CNG-powered trucks, ensuring the timely delivery of materials, and strictly adhering to all traffic and environmental regulations.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Safe transportation of raw materials to designated areas.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the CNG fuel system, engine, and trucks. Monitor gas pressure levels and report   any mechanical faults immediately.
    • Adhere to all Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) regulations, speed limits, and strict plant safety protocols ( Dangote Group site safety standards if operating within these networks).
    • Implement defensive driving and eco-driving techniques to maximize CNG efficiency and minimize carbon emissions.
    • Maximize the fuel efficiency benefits of the CNG engine by practicing smooth acceleration, engine braking, and minimizing unnecessary idling.
    • Safely connect, monitor, and disconnect high-pressure CNG fuelling lines. Perform standard safety checks on fuel cylinders, valves, and pressure gauges before and after trips.
    • Maintain strict adherence to scheduled Turnaround Times (TAT), maximizing daily trips while ensuring total compliance with legal axle weight limits to prevent equipment strain and legal penalties

    Key Requirements

    Academic / Professional Qualifications

    •  Minimum of SSCE Certificate
    •  Valid Nigerian Class G Heavy Truck Driver’s License.
    •  Clean driving record with no history of major vehicular accidents.
    •  Excellent spatial awareness, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and strong communication skills.

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience driving heavy-duty articulated trucks, specifically within the Nigerian cement, mining, or heavy manufacturing sector.
