    Financial Controller

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Nigerian GAAP and company policies.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks, providing insightful commentary to management.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to relevant stakeholders including regulatory bodies.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Develop and manage annual operating budgets for various departments within the pharmaceutical company.
    • Conduct regular budget reviews and forecasts to identify areas for cost optimization and potential revenue growth.
    • Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with budget targets.

    Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with relevant Nigerian accounting standards, tax regulations, and pharmaceutical industry guidelines.
    • Monitor financial transactions and identify potential areas of fraud or non-compliance.

    Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making, including pricing strategies, product portfolio optimization, and investment opportunities.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management on key business initiatives.

    Team Management:

    • Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals, including day-to-day tasks, performance management, and staff development.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the finance department.

    Tax Management:

    • Oversee the tax compliance process, including preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in accordance with Nigerian tax regulations.
    • Collaborate with external tax advisors on complex tax matters.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACCA)
    • Extensive experience in financial management within a pharmaceutical company or related industry in Nigeria
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey financial information to stakeholders
    • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems
    • Understanding of Nigerian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
    • Leadership skills to manage a team of finance professionals.

    Dredging / Marine Superintendent

    Responsibilities

    • Is responsible for the execution of the dredging and marine works. He organizes the work, so that the work is carried out to the required standards of safety and quality with a minimum of risk to persons and equipment.
    • Is responsible for the most cost-effective method of execution and monitors daily the actual – versus estimated output.
    • Supervises the (SDM)Surry Density Measure on all operational planning and execution of dredging works and seeks together with the crew on the right choice of cutter, suction heads, discharge lines, impellers, number of pumps, choice of dredging cycle, etc.
    • Reporting of defects to vessels or their auxiliary equipment to the Technical Commercial Manager and the Head office
    • Daily reporting to and consultation with the Project Team on the operational activities, more in particular on the progress of the works for which he is responsible.
    • Reporting of accidents or particular events
    • Responsible for the safety and health of the employees and Subcontractors, including the environmental performance
    • Execution of the work in accordance with the local environmental prescriptions and regulations
    • Making honest and valued evaluation of the SDM (Surry Density Measure)/Crew/ Sandfield master/ barge master.
    • Maintain relationships with shipowners.
    • Manage Planned Maintenance System (PMS), repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure vessels comply with international and local maritime regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits (ISM, ISPS and MLC) of vessels to ensure safety and operational standards.
    • Investigate and report on incidents or accidents involving company vessels.
    • Ensure proper documentation, procedures and record-keeping for all maritime operations.
    • Ensure sufficient stock of relevant spare parts and consumables.
    • Responsible for the training of crew; Perform competency assessment and performance evaluation of crew.
    • Oversee allocation of resources to vessels.
    • Maintain Safety Management System (SMS) updates to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficient procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree / HND qualification with 5 - 10 years of experience.
