    Field Service Engineer

    Job Description

    • The Team Lead will be responsible for Installing and maintaining diesel power generating plants and related electrical equipment in the BTS sites throughout the state.
    • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to include oil changes, lubrication, battery testing and replacement, filter replacement, tire inspection/replacement and electronic control systems adjustments and repair.
    • Maintains records and logs of completed maintenance actions to meet minimum requirements for state inspectors.
    • Respond to monitoring alarms and troubleshoots equipment during emergency power outages and scheduled equipment exercise periods.
    • Conducting Monthly PPM and Proactive maintenance practices
    • Evaluating problematic sites and escalation for resolution
    • Power availability on all BTS sites should be 100% as per company SLA
    • Track and manage the complete process of diesel deployment on all sites.
    • Provide technical information to each Regional Maintenance Supervisor & Regional Maintenance Planner of the various sites.
    • Obtain monthly sign-offs from Regional Supervisors/Heads on diesel supplied to all sites.
    • Assist in the coordination and installation of diesel economizers to reduce OPEX in the region.
    • Track diesel supply and consumption to reduce theft
    • Plan and supervise all work processes in a safe manner and in accordance with the standards set out in the HSE policy
    • Actively assist line managers in the development of team and individual quality and performance standards for front-line employees
    • Assist the Quality Assurance Team Lead to ensure the implementation of the Quality Assurance recognition program in the Online and Walk In Assistance Centre

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
    • Project Management Training / Certification
    • Relevant Postgraduate degree would be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3-5 years in Generator Maintenance.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and interface with large multi-functional project teams.
    • Must possess successful project management experience as well as experience in process engineering.
    • Engineering background in the area of Telecommunications with Wireless Telecommunications considered a valuable asset.
    • Knowledge of Telecommunications Legislation.
    • A high level of autonomy and self-efficiency with attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated Leadership Skills
    • Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
    • Intermediate use of general computer programs such as packages in the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong business and commercial acumen.

    NOC Officer

    Job Description

    • The NOC Officer is responsible for monitoring BISWAL’s Network Operations, maintain strong communication with Field Maintenance Engineers on real time escalated faults of client’s network until resolution, generate daily reports of failures exceeding defined KPI and follow through on all customer complaints.
    • Monitor all networks 24/7 to ensure optimal performance; faults detection, analysis, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution of all Base Station Subsystems or Nodes Such BTS, BSCs and Power Equipment’s (Intrusion, Rectifiers etc)
    • Provide real time performance/management of all Base Station Subsystems (BTS) network elements for effectiveness and provision of daily reports for the next action to be carried out to improve network quality.
    • Provide solution and analyse all faults (proactive/reactive) to all power related issues at BTS sites; escalating where faults cannot be fixed and working within committed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
    • Assign faults tickets to the appropriate field engineers and follow up on tickets to ensure a speedy response as stated in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
    • Improve overall system efficiency using the Central Monitoring System (CMS Software) by running appropriate command to check power alarms and specific status of site in real time.
    • Capture all sites that are down using various monitoring tools and escalate to the appropriate team for resolution. Acknowledging of all alarms from Base Transceiver Stations (BTS).
    • Use the approved application to log external alarm and closure of ticket logged by NSMC
    • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on network activities in relations to operations of passive infrastructure. Ensure all docket information are capture in activity log.
    • Liaise with field engineers, and sub-contractors to ensure uninterrupted services at the operator’s base stations.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
    • Technical knowledge on Network Elements
    • Basic troubleshooting skills on network elements.
    • Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
    • 1-3years experience in networks operations in the telecommunication / GSM environment, Knowledge of Telecommunications Legislation (Telecommunications Act, Code of Practice etc.)
    • Cisco certifications and VoIP fundamentals a plus.
    • Mature judgment, Good coordination skills, Problem Solving Skills.
