    Department:   Laboratory Department

    Position: Laboratory Manager

    Reporting to:  Managing Director

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates and manages activities and programs within the laboratory facility; manages records for all activities and programs, as necessary; provides technical support for laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools;
    • Responsible for overseeing safety and security of laboratory facilities including maintaining current knowledge of all relevant protocols, regulations, standards, and safety procedures as well as developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and obtaining relevant certifications for the laboratory.
    • Supervising personnel functions such as on the job training, evaluating performance, work schedules, assignments
    • Advises, guides, and/or directs on operational activities and/or government, industry, or institutional regulatory guidelines;
    • Oversees inventory management such as selecting, purchasing, storing, and allocating of laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools;
    • Responsible for laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools including inspecting, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting; performs and documents routine advanced quality assurance and preventive maintenance
    • Manages financial activities and/or reports pertaining to the laboratory; assists in the preparation of budget estimates;
    • Perform various technical duties in support of research activities;
    • Collaborates with and/or serves as a liaison to agencies, administrators, departments, and/or stakeholders; represents senior administration on committees;
    • Monitors, researches, and distributes information regarding implementing changes in regulatory guidelines as well as trends and developments in techniques and technology relevant to the field; maintains and updates protocol manuals;
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications

    • A. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline closely related to the position
    • A minimum of (2) years work experience in both Chemical, Microbiology, Quality assurance and Health and safety practices in similar setting closely related to the position OR and/or work experience totaling seven (7) years

    Additional Qualification:

    • A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position will be an added advantage

    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
    • Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
    • Knowledge of laboratory equipment such as HPL, GC, FTNIR, e.t.c., related supplies, computer hardware and software, and their applications.
    • Skill in utilizing organization and time management and in effectively managing multiple priorities on a daily basis.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
    • Ability to analyze and develop guidelines, procedures and systems to outline specific goals and implement plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.
    • Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
    • Ability to interpret work related documents, policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.

    Fire Officer ( Senior )

    Level: Supervisory

    Reporting line: Fire Chief

    Summary: The idle Candidate would be responsible for all fire related matter in both the petrochemical and fertilizer plants 

    Role Scope:

    • To organize and operate total fire brigade to deliver best performance in minimum time during firefighting, rescue and other emergencies which are mentioned in On site emergency management plan.
    • To ensure all installed portable firefighting equipment and fixed firefighting systems operate at its best designed performance.
    • To continuously improve the firefighting capabilities of fire services and employees of the plants and facilities by imparting training and conducting mock drills.
    • To ensure best standby fireman duties are available for fire prevention during all extraordinary hazardous jobs.
    • To ensure that fire detection and alarm systems are functional.
    • To direct the firefighting operations in absence of fire chief.
    • To upkeep fire trucks and fire pumps to best performance.
    • To ensure the availability of fire station manpower 24X7
    • To ensure   performance of shift duties of the shift fire crew are satisfactory. 
    • To ensure best performance of the fire crew members in firefighting skill and rescue jobs.
    • To ensure continuous improvement of awareness of employees and security staff on Fire prevention and Protection systems.

    Responsibilities:

    • To complete all firefighting training schedules and mock drills for the fire crew, security staffs and employees of plants and facilities, as planned and scheduled.
    • To complete all periodical servicing and maintenance of portable firefighting equipment and fixed firefighting systems as planned.
    • To keep inventory of fire extinguishing mediums and spares of firefighting equipment and fixed systems.
    • To coordinate with operation and maintenance employees of plants and buildings and facilitate them fire prevention standby fireman duties and firefighting equipment.
    • To solve all problems of the fire crew members related to administration and to motivate them to deliver their best performance.
    • To turnout and attend the fire and emergency calls.
    • Fire crew shift scheduling and manpower management.
    • To conduct daily drills for fire crew.
    • To conduct classroom training on Fire protection system and Emergency Management plan for the employees.
    • To conduct live firefighting training for employees and security staff.
    • To monitor the responsibilities of shift fire crew on checking of firefighting equipment.

    Qualifications

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Degree in fire science/Engineering from recognized institute
    • Experience: 12-15 years of fire services in Petrochemical/Refinery and Fertilizer Industries

    Additional Information

    Accountability

    • Accountable for achieving HSEF objectives of the department.
    • Accountable for achieving compliance of fire annual plan

    Job Knowledge

    • Expertise in fire prevention and fire protection systems of oil & gas Industry.
    • Expertise of firefighting techniques and strategies of major petrochemicals and fertilizer plants.
    • Knowledge of maintenance of firefighting appliances and equipment.
    • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of fixed firefighting systems.
    • Knowledge of fire and gas alarm systems.
    • Knowledge of fire prevention procedures of hydrocarbon Industries.
    • Working knowledge with computer, MS office etc.

    Job specific skills:

    • Operational capability of fire prevention and emergency management systems
    • Safety during critical confined space entry.
    • Maintenance of fire water systems and fixed foam systems.
    • Maintenance of fire trucks and driving skill.
    • Supervision of fire crew.
