Job Summary

• We are seeking a responsible, reliable, safety-conscious, and professional Junior Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation support for the organization.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for driving assigned vehicles, transporting staff, executives, clients, documents, and other authorized items as required, maintaining vehicles in good operating condition, observing all traffic laws and safety procedures, and ensuring timely arrival at assigned destinations.
• The ideal candidate must have practical driving experience and be comfortable driving both automatic and manual vehicles.
• The candidate must have a strong knowledge and understanding of Abuja routes, major roads, districts, landmarks, alternative routes, traffic patterns, and commonly used destinations within Abuja.
• The successful candidate should demonstrate punctuality, good judgment, professionalism, discretion, basic vehicle maintenance awareness, excellent road safety practices, and the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation:

• Safely operate assigned vehicles for authorized official duties.
• Drive both automatic and manual vehicles confidently and responsibly.
• Transport staff, management, clients, visitors, documents, equipment, and other authorized items as required.
• Ensure passengers arrive at their destinations safely, comfortably, and on time.
• Follow assigned schedules, routes, destinations, and transportation instructions.
• Plan journeys appropriately to allow for traffic, road conditions, weather, and other possible delays.
• Demonstrate flexibility when routes, schedules, or transportation requirements change.
• Provide transportation support for meetings, official appointments, business visits, airport transfers, errands, and other approved activities.
• Remain available and responsive during assigned working periods.
• Ensure all journeys are conducted professionally and in accordance with organizational requirements.

Abuja Route & Navigation Knowledge:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Abuja roads, districts, neighborhoods, landmarks, business areas, government offices, residential areas, hotels, airports, and other commonly visited locations.
• Navigate efficiently across Abuja and identify suitable alternative routes where necessary.
• Stay informed about traffic conditions, road closures, construction, diversions, and other factors that may affect travel time.
• Use approved navigation tools such as Google Maps or other GPS applications when required.
• Understand major Abuja routes and connections between key districts.
• Demonstrate the ability to reach unfamiliar destinations using available navigation tools.
• Minimize unnecessary delays by selecting safe and efficient routes.
• Provide reasonable route guidance when requested.

Vehicle Safety & Maintenance:

• Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks.
• Check fuel level, tyres, lights, brakes, engine condition, fluids, wipers, mirrors, and other essential vehicle components.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, presentable, and in good condition.
• Report mechanical faults, unusual sounds, warning lights, tyre issues, accidents, or other vehicle concerns promptly.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to approved schedules.
• Monitor fuel consumption and report unusual or excessive usage.
• Ensure the vehicle contains required safety and emergency items where applicable.
• Keep vehicle documents, insurance information, inspection records, and other required documentation properly maintained.
• Do not operate a vehicle that appears unsafe or unfit for use and promptly report any safety concerns.
• Ensure personal belongings and organizational property are handled responsibly while using the vehicle.

Road Safety & Compliance:

• Observe all applicable traffic laws, road signs, speed limits, and driving regulations.
• Maintain safe driving practices at all times.
• Avoid reckless, aggressive, distracted, or dangerous driving.
• Do not use a mobile phone in a manner that compromises driving safety.
• Always use seat belts and ensure passengers comply with applicable safety requirements.
• Exercise additional caution in heavy traffic, poor weather, unfamiliar areas, and difficult road conditions.
• Maintain appropriate speed and safe following distances.
• Report traffic incidents, accidents, vehicle damage, or other road-related issues immediately.
• Cooperate appropriately with relevant authorities following an accident or traffic incident.
• Never drive under the influence of alcohol or any substance that may impair driving ability.
• Maintain a professional and safety-conscious attitude on the road.

Staff & Passenger Support:

• Provide courteous, respectful, and professional service to passengers.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading reasonable luggage or official items where required.
• Maintain punctuality for staff pickups, appointments, meetings, and scheduled trips.
• Confirm pickup and drop-off locations where necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding passenger movements, conversations, schedules, and organizational activities.
• Respect the privacy and personal space of passengers.
• Communicate professionally with staff, management, clients, visitors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a calm and respectful attitude even under traffic pressure or challenging circumstances.

Administrative & Errand Support:

• Support authorized administrative, logistics, and operational errands.
• Collect and deliver documents, parcels, equipment, supplies, and other approved items.
• Assist with bank runs, office errands, procurement-related transportation, and other assigned duties where required.
• Maintain proper records of assigned trips and official journeys where required.
• Submit receipts, fuel records, parking records, toll information, and other relevant documentation as requested.
• Follow all organizational procedures relating to vehicle use, transportation, expenses, and official errands.
• Support the Administration, Operations, Logistics, or other relevant teams with transportation-related activities.

Vehicle Documentation & Reporting:

• Ensure assigned vehicle documentation is properly maintained and available.
• Monitor vehicle service dates, insurance, roadworthiness, registration, and other applicable requirements.
• Report vehicle mileage and usage as required.
• Maintain accurate trip, fuel, maintenance, and other vehicle-related records where applicable.
• Immediately report accidents, damage, traffic violations, mechanical issues, or other incidents involving the assigned vehicle.
• Provide management with relevant information regarding vehicle condition and transportation activities.
• Ensure all vehicle-related documents and records are properly handled and submitted when required.

Professional Conduct & Confidentiality:

• Maintain a high level of professionalism when representing the organization.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, management activities, client information, locations, schedules, and other sensitive matters.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, reliability, and accountability.
• Avoid unauthorized use of company or assigned vehicles.
• Do not transport unauthorized passengers or items using organizational vehicles.
• Follow instructions from authorized supervisors and management.
• Maintain appropriate appearance and personal hygiene while on duty.
• Treat colleagues, clients, visitors, and members of the public respectfully.
• Protect organizational property and use vehicles and other resources responsibly.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 21–30 years.
• Education: Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO; OND, NCE, HND, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Valid Nigerian driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle(s) being operated.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of practical driving experience.
• Proven ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Abuja routes.
• Good knowledge of major Abuja districts, roads, landmarks, and commonly visited locations.
• Ability to use GPS/navigation applications such as Google Maps.
• A clean or satisfactory driving record is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic road safety practices.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and routine vehicle checks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to work flexible hours when transportation requirements demand it.

• Candidates residing in Abuja or with strong practical knowledge of Abuja routes will be strongly preferred.
