    UAV / Aircraft Design Engineer

    Core Purpose:

    • To conceptualize, design, analyze, and validate fixed-wing, rotary-wing, or hybrid unmanned aircraft systems. This role bridges the gap between initial mission requirements and the physical aircraft, ensuring optimized aerodynamics, performance, structural integrity, and overall flight safety.
    • Lifecycle Position: Involved across the entire product development cycle—from translating high-level mission needs into trade studies, down to supporting prototype fabrication and real-world flight testing.

    Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

    • Configuration & Sizing: Developing early aircraft layouts (wings, fuselage, control surfaces, payload integration) and executing sizing, mass properties estimation, and center-of-gravity (CG) tracking.
    • Engineering Analysis: Predicting critical performance metrics (takeoff, cruise, endurance, service ceiling, stall speeds) and conducting aerodynamic and structural evaluation via CFD and FEA methods.
    • Materials & CAD Modeling: Selecting optimized airfoils and structural materials while maintaining master 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical data.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interfacing daily with propulsion, avionics, embedded systems, and manufacturing teams to optimize Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA).
    • Core Deliverables: Aircraft conceptual design definitions, master CAD models/production drawings, aerodynamic/structural analysis sheets, weight/balance reports, and engineering change documentation.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant hands-on aircraft or UAV design experience.
    • Technical Software Suite: Proficiency in standard CAD suites (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX) and engineering analysis platforms (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, OpenFOAM, XFLR5, MATLAB/Simulink).
    • Domain Competencies: Deep understanding of fluid/flight mechanics, aircraft structural layouts, and load paths. Preferred familiarity with composite design, electric/hybrid propulsion configurations, and aviation standards.
    • Mindset & Soft Skills: Systems-level thinker with excellent documentation habits, high attention to detail, and a willingness to get hands-on during prototype assembly and field-range flight testing.

    UAV Propulsion System Engineer

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a brilliant, analytical, and systems-minded UAV Propulsion System Engineer to join our engineering team.
    • In this role, you will actively shape the DNA of our next-generation flight platforms. From conceptual architecture to field testing and certification, your core mission will be to answer the ultimate question: “Does this propulsion system safely, reliably, and efficiently deliver the required power across the entire mission envelope?”

    Key Responsibilities

    • System Architecture & Selection: Evaluate and select optimal propulsion types (electric, hybrid, piston, or turbine) and design robust configurations (multi-engine, distributed propulsion, or thrust vectoring) tailored to tactical mission profiles.
    • Sizing & Mission Performance: Size propulsion systems and model thrust lapse, specific fuel consumption (SFC), and power-to-weight tradeoffs to ensure peak performance during takeoff, climb, cruise, and critical engine-out/degraded scenarios.
    • Propulsion-Airframe Integration: Bridge the gap between engine analysis and true systems engineering. Oversee structural mounts, manage vibration, minimize installation losses, and control inlet/exhaust aerodynamic interactions.
    • Thermal & Secondary Systems Management: Design and optimize critical cooling configurations, oil systems, and electrical power extraction—vital components for our high-end electric and hybrid platforms.
    • Weight, Balance & Packaging: Track component mass, manage center-of-gravity (CG) sensitivity, and design with strict structural packaging and field-maintenance constraints in mind.
    • Safety, Compliance & Testing: Support rigorous safety analyses (FMEA/FHA), mitigate high-consequence failure modes, and ensure the integrated aircraft meets stringent regulatory and certification standards.
    • OEM & Supplier Coordination: Serve as the technical bridge between Babasky and global motor/engine manufacturers, translating high-level aircraft needs into precise engineering specifications.

    What We Are Looking For

    • Technical Mastery: A strong foundational background in engine cycle fundamentals, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and flight mechanics.
    • Systems Thinking: An understanding that a propulsion system doesn’t work in a vacuum; you know how to balance structural loads, aerodynamic drag, and electronics packaging.
    • Analytical Tools: Experience with engine performance mapping, thrust modeling, and mission simulation tools.
    • Safety-Driven Mindset: Sharp engineering judgment with an awareness of aviation regulations, testing philosophies, and redundancy design.
    • Collaborative Communicator: Ability to interface seamlessly with internal Aircraft Design Engineers, external suppliers, and defense certification authorities.

UAV Avionics Engineer (Autonomy, Flight Control & Vehicle Avionics)

    Core Purpose:

    • To design, build, and maintain the electronic and software "nervous system" of UAVs, ensuring the vehicle can accurately sense its state, make autonomous decisions, and maintain safe, stable flight across all conditions.

    Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

    • System & Power Architecture: Designing centralized/distributed processing layouts, defining fail-safe protocols, and engineering robust, redundant electrical power rails resistant to EMI/EMC issues.
    • Flight Controls & Navigation: Implementing and tuning PID/State-Space control loops, managing flight modes, and fusing sensor data (IMU, GNSS, etc.) for accurate state estimation—especially in GPS-denied environments.
    • RF & Communications: Integrating low-latency, long-range command, telemetry, and payload data links with optimal antenna placement.
    • Software & Autonomy: Writing flight firmware and companion computer applications (C/C++, Python) for automated mission logic, geofencing, and safety protocols (Return-to-Home).
    • Testing & Validation: Conducting Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations, ground validation, and analyzing flight telemetry logs.
    • Core Deliverables: Architecture and wiring diagrams, custom-configured flight firmware, and comprehensive HIL/flight log analysis reports.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of control theory, UAV flight dynamics, RTOS constraints, and sensor physics (noise, drift, bias).
    • Software & Tools: Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, alongside structured version control habits (Git, CI/CD pipelines).
    • Hardware & RF Literacy: Familiarity with link budgets, basic power electronics, grounding, shielding, and vibration isolation techniques.
    • Mindset: A calm, proactive approach to troubleshooting complex hardware-software bugs under testing conditions, backed by a safety-oriented engineering philosophy.
