We are looking for a social, friendly Optician to work with our customers to find the most suitable eyewear for their needs. The optician will recommend  specific eyewear, take measurements, fit and adjust glasses, and teach customers to properly wear and care for their glasses or contact lenses.

Responsibilities:

• Obtaining patient prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Taking customer information and measurements of the ocular area.
• Recommending frames or contact lenses that suit the customer's style, face, and specifications.
• Adjusting and fitting frames according to the prescriptions and customer's specifications, as well as to suit the customer's face.
• Preparing work orders for the optical technicians to use to manufacture the lenses.
• Using specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers, and lens gauges.
• Keeping inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction.
• Repairing broken frames.
• Educating customers on how to wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses.
• Performing administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, customer records, and insurance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6-8years experience as an Optician
• On-the-job training and experience in clinical work.
• A license or certification to practice as an optician.
• The ability to operate specialized equipment.
• Excellent customer service and sales ability
•  A degree in related field.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Optometrist to perform eye tests and provide excellent eye care to our patients. Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. 

Ultimately, you will ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests
• Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism and glaucoma
• Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history
• Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses
• Advise patients on proper eye care techniques
• Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients
• Book next appointments in cases where re-examination is required
• Train patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses
• Refer eye doctors and ophthalmologists when patients need to undergo a surgery or in cases of severe eye injuries

Salary: N250,000

Requirements:

• 6- 8 years working experience as an Optometrist
• In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects
• Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometer
• The ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly
• Degree in Optometry or related field.
