    SBC Content Development Consultant

    Objectives of the Consultancy:

    The objectives of engaging the consultant will be:

    1. To Co- Facilitate the SBC Content development workshop. 
    2. Develop IEC materials Contents for mediums of usage (Broadcast, radio, print).

    Key Deliverables:

    The key deliverables of the engagement will be

    1. Co- Facilitate a workshop with the project team and CO team States and NPHCDA representatives that would bring out the contents for the development of SBC messages targeting to address barriers of Zero dose and under Immunize Children in Lagos and Kano States. – 2 days
    2. Develop contents for the development of SBC messages targeting to address barriers of Zero dose and under Immunize Children in Lagos and Kano States. – 4 days
    3. Run post pre-test correction – 1 day
    4. Write and Submit Report to the SBC Coordinator – 1 day

    Roles and Responsibilities of Save the Children

    In consultation with Save the Children, the consultant is expected to complete all activities listed in the Scope of Work section above. The SBC Coordinator will be the main contact person for the consultant. It is expected that the consultant will work closely with the SBC Coordinator and keep him/her informed throughout each step of the process. Technical input and support will also be provided by the Project Managers & Chief of Paty. Key stakeholders and partners will be consulted when appropriate.

    Save the will facilitate and provide arrangements and support services/ facilities for the work of the consultant. These include:

    1. Provision of background and reference documents.
    2. Provision of working space within Save the Children Office in Lagos, Kano and Abuja.
    3. Facilitating contacts and meetings with relevant stakeholders.

    Skills and competencies required

    1. Master’s degree in public health, Sociology, communications, social science, or other related area
    2. Expert knowledge and practical experience in Behavior Change Communication will be an added advantage.
    3. At least 7 years of practical experience in communications using graphic design
    4. Experience designing educational, training of trainers, and behavior change materials development for audiences with low levels of literacy
    5. Experience of coordinating diverse teams and communicating with individuals/groups at all levels
    6. Experience working in urban and rural communities, preferably in Lagos and Kano
    7. Strong analytical, presentation and writing skills in English
    8. Yoruba and Hausa language skills are essential
    9. Demonstrates strong commitment to Save the Children’s Mission, Vision and Values, including Safeguarding of children.
    10. Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, caste, nationality, age sensitivity.

    SBC Graphic Design Work Consultant

    Scope of Work for the Consultant (Graphic Designer)  

    The graphic designer will be expected to provide the following services:

    1. Provide technical inputs on the draft flipbooks and IEC materials 
    2. Create an aesthetic appealing and context appropriate pictorials on Facilitator Flipbook with GSK/ Save the Children brand identity for the GSK project.
    3. Create user-friendly and context appropriate pictorials on IEC materials (posters and handbills) GSK/ Save the Children brand identity for the GSK project.
    4. Produce draft flipbooks and IEC materials for review and pretesting (electronic and hard copies)
    5. Based on the review by the technical team and the pretesting of the materials, apply recommendations and finalize materials for production. 

    Tasks

    1. Meet with SCI staff at SCI office for a joint review of the existing flipbook and IEC materials (2 days)
    2. Based on the meeting, produce pictorials and apply them to relevant sections of the materials with textual adjustments and produce first draft (10 days)
    3. Present first draft of materials with SCI for initial review and feedback before pretest (2 days)
    4. Produce printed copies of materials (as outlined in output below) for pretest (1day)
    5. Make final adjustment on the materials after pretest and produce electronic versions of the document (2 days)

    Outputs

    1. First draft of facilitator flipbook for CAC/PDQS group electronic (English) versions produced
    2. First draft of posters electronic (English) versions produced
    3. Printed copies of flipbook (one each for English) produced for pretest
    4. Printed copies of posters and handbills (5 each in Lagos and Kano for English) produced for pretest
    5. Finalized versions of facilitator’s flipbook for men’s and women’s group (Englis) produced (electronic) 
    6. Finalized versions of posters and handbills (English) produced (electronic)

    Qualifications And Experience

    1. Knowledge and experience in graphic design, layout and document development
    2. Experience working with INGOs and NGOs
    3. Degree/certificate in Graphic Design, Art, Mass Communication, or related fields from a recognized institution will be added advantage
