    IT Governance Specialist

    We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable IT Governance Specialist to join our client's team in the telecommunications industry and ensure effective governance and compliance of IT policies, processes, and procedures within the organization. As an IT Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining IT governance frameworks to support the organization's IT strategy, security, and regulatory requirements.

    Job Description

    You are responsible for the following:

    • Establish policies, guidelines, and procedures that align with industry best practices to ensure effective IT governance.
    • Monitor and assess the organization's compliance with IT policies, procedures, and relevant regulations; identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.
    • Conduct IT risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in IT processes and systems; collaborate with relevant teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure the organization's IT assets are adequately protected.
    • Assist in the development, review, and enhancement of IT policies and procedures, considering emerging technology trends and changes in the regulatory landscape.
    • Collaborate with IT leaders and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making processes.
    • Ensure that IT initiatives and projects are aligned with the overall IT strategy and business objectives.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of IT governance processes; prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
    • Oversee IT vendor management processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance evaluations, to ensure compliance with established governance standards.
    • Develop and conduct training programs to raise awareness and understanding of IT governance policies and procedures across the organization.
    • Continuously review and improve IT governance processes, incorporating industry best practices and lessons learned from previous experiences.
    • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to facilitate IT audits and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.

    Qualifications

    • First degree in Computer Science or IT related fields.
    • 5 - 10 years of experience as an IT Governance Specialist or in a similar role, with a focus on developing and implementing IT governance frameworks.
    • Sound knowledge of IT governance principles and industry standards, e.g. ITIL
    • Familiarity with risk management, compliance monitoring, and audit processes in the IT domain.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex IT governance issues and recommend practical solutions.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with multi-functional teams and senior management.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of IT governance and compliance.
    • ITIL4 Foundation mandatory

    Qualifications

    Education, Qualification and Certification

    • Bachelor’s degree in numerate sciences including computer sciences, business administration, accounting, economics, etc
    • Master’s degree in any business-related field is an advantage
    • Demonstrable experience in five or more of the following domains/practices:
    • Business Advisory
    • Service Management
    • Business Continuity
    • Information Security
    • Project Management
    • Business Analysis
    • Enterprise Architecture
    • ISO Standards and other best practice frameworks
    • Ability to conduct training in three of these domains is also mandatory.

    Skills, Experience and Attributes

    You need 5 to 10 years experience (either as a leader or team member) and also require:
