    University Librarian

    Job Summary

    • The University Librarian is responsible for the overall management, development, and administration of the University Library in alignment with the University's vision and mission.

    Responsibilities

    The University Librarian shall:

    • Provide strategic leadership in the planning, development and management of library and information services.
    • Support teaching and research through effective acquisition, organization, and dissemination of information resources.
    • Manage library staff, budget, and facilities efficiently.
    • Oversee digital, electronic, and ICT-based library solutions.
    • Uphold ethical standards consistent with the University's vision and mission.
    • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and Council

    Requirements

    Candidate should:

    • Possess a good honours degree and a Master's degree In Library and Information Science or related discipline from a recognized University (PhD is an added advantage).
    • Be duly certified and registered with the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)
    • 10 - 15 years cognate professional experience, preferably in a university Ilbrary environment.
    • Provide strong evidence of a substantial number of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
    • Demonstrate sound knowledge of modern library technologies, digital repositories, and information management systems.
    • Be not below the rank of University Deputy Librarian or its equivalent in a university or comparable institution
    • Be of a proven Integrity, strong moral character, committed to the University's vision and mission.

    Tenure

    • The appointment shall be for a term of five (5) years, renewable, subject to the University Law, Statutes, and Conditions of Service.

    Bursar

    The Position

    • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration, coordination, and control of the financial affairs of the University, in alignment with the University's vision, mission, and core values.

    Responsibilities
    The Bursar shall:

    • Provide strategic leadership in the management of the University's finances with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
    • Advise the Vice-Chancellor and Council on financial matters in support of the University's vision and sustainable growth.
    • Prepare, implement, and monitor budgets and financial reports.
    • Ensure proper accounting records, effective internal control systems, and prudent stewardship of resources.
    • Uphold ethical standards consistent with the University's values and ethos. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and Council.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Candidates should:

    • Possess a good honours degree and a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognised university (PhD. will be an added advantage).
    • Hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).
    • Have a minimum of 10-15 years cognate experience, preferably in a university or similar Institution.
    • Be not below the rank of Deputy Bursar or its equivalent in a university or comparable institution.
    • Demonstrate proven integrity, sound judgment, leadership ability, and commitment to the University's values.
    • Be ICT-compliant and conversant with modern financial management systems.
    • Be of strong moral character and support the mission of the University.
    • Be not more than 60 years of age at the time of assumption of duty.

    Tenure

    • The appointment shall be for a term of five (5) years, renewable, subject to the University Law, Statutes, and Conditions of Service.

    • Copies of relevant academic and professional certificates
    • Names and contact details of three (3) referees who should be able to attest to the candidate's character and integrity
    • A vision Statement (not more than 1,000 words) outlining the candidate's strategic plan for the University over the next five years
