    Audio Producer

    Tasks

    • Receive the English versions of the scripts of the audio messages from FCT-MEP and MC officials
    • Produce dry recordings of the audio messages in four language versions—English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi - from the approved scripts and submit to FCT-MEP and MC for review.
    • Revise the draft of the dry audio recordings of the 4 language versions, based on feedback comments from FCT-MEP and MC
    • Finalize the production of 4 language versions of the audio messages and submit to FCT-MEP and MC

    Deliverables 

    • Dry recording of six audio jingles in four language versions: English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, and submitted to Malaria Consortium
    • Finalised broadcast-ready audio recordings in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi saved in suitable formats for playback on approved audio devices.

    Person Specification Audio Producer

    • At least a First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, Theatre Arts, Media Production or a related field.
    • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in radio production, including scripting support, voice direction, recording, editing and final mastering.
    • Extensive experience in audio/radio production, with demonstrated capacity to produce clear, audience-appropriate radio jingles and messages.
    • Ability to coordinate production in English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, including working with voice artists and translators as required.
    • Demonstrable experience producing radio jingles or public health messages for audiences in Northern Nigeria.

    Translator

    Purpose

    • To engage key short-term consultants who will translate messages from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, develop and finalize graphic designs, and produce audio and video messages in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi in support of the ITN distribution project in the FCT.

    Rationale for the Consultancy

    • The assignment is justified by the need to translate messages for print materials and audio/video scripts from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi; develop graphic designs for print materials; and produce audio and video messages in four language versions: English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi. The majority of the target population are either low-literate or non-literate, hence the need to produce communication materials in appropriate local languages for the target audience.

    Specific Task, Deliverables and Person Specification
    Tasks for Translator:

    • Receive the English versions of the key messages for the print materials, and the scripts for audio messages from FCT-MEP and Malaria Consortium officials
    • Translate the content of the print materials from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi. Materials include motivational leaflets, message cards for town announcers and community mobilisers, posters and banners.
    • Translate the scripts of at least three audio messages from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi.
    • Translate the scripts of at least three video jingles/messages from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi.
    • Revise the translated print materials and the scripts of the audio messages; based on review comments of FCT-MEP and Malaria Consortium (MC)

    Deliverables for Translator:

    • Six audio jingles finalized in four language versions: English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, and submitted to Malaria Consortium.
    • A complete set of final, print-ready communication materials in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi including motivational leaflets, message cards for town announcers and community mobilisers, posters and banners.
    • Finalized broadcast-ready audio recordings in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi saved in suitable formats for playback on approved audio devices.
    • A set of approved campaign photographs selected by FCT-MEP and MC, edited as required, and saved in two sets of flash drives for FCT-MEP and MC.
    • Finalized video jingles/messages in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi revised based on feedback and submitted in broadcast-ready and digital-ready formats to Malaria Consortium.

    Person Specifications for Translator
    (Three translators: one each for Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi):

    • Demonstrated experience translating print, audio and radio campaign materials into local languages, particularly Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi.
    • At least a first degree or Higher National Diploma in Language Arts, Mass Communication, Linguistics or a related field, with strong competence in Hausa, Gbagyi or Pidgin English.
    • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in translation, news casting, print communication or audio/radio production in the required language.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work effectively under tight timelines.

    Graphic Artist

    Tasks for Graphic Artist

    • Receive the English versions of the key messages for the print materials, from FCT-MEP and MC officials. The Material includes Posters, Leaflets, Faze Caps, Reflective Jackets, T-shirts, Banners; Wall Charts, Announcers Cards;
    • Develop computer graphic designs for the print materials in four language versions: English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, using images and photos as agreed with Malaria Consortium officials.
    • Submit the drafts of the designed print materials to FCT-MEP and MC for review
    • Revise the draft of the designed print materials, based on feedback comments from FCT-MEP and MC.
    • Finalize the designed materials (in high and low resolutions); and submit print ready version to Malaria Consortium.

    Deliverable for Graphic Artist

    • A complete set of final, print-ready communication materials in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi including motivational leaflets, message cards for town announcers and community mobilisers, posters and banners.

    Person Specifications for Graphic Artist

    • Advanced Diploma or First Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Materials Design or a related field.
    • At least eight years’ experience designing communication materials such as posters, job aids, leaflets, banners and booklets.
    • Strong experience in graphic illustration, layout development and adaptation of materials for multiple language versions.
    • Previous experience developing materials for rural, low-literacy and community-based audiences.
    • Creative ability and previous experience designing materials for public health or social behaviour change campaigns.
    • Proficiency in modern professional design software, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar tools.
    • Good knowledge of production, pre-press and printing processes for communication materials.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and deliver quality outputs within agreed timelines.

    Photographer

    Purpose

    • Identify a professional photographer in each focal state and develop contract
    • Cover the entire photographs of the selected models for the different print material: Posters, Leaflets, Faze Caps, Apron, Banners; Charts, Announcers Cards.
    • Edit electronic photo images as may be directed by the relevant MC ITN team members.
    • Save the digital photo images electronically in external drives (CDs/ flash drives) marked by location and by any other category, as directed MC SMC team members
    • Deliver two (2) copies of each External Flash drive of photo images to MC office Abuja.

    Deliverable for Photographer

    • A set of approved campaign photographs selected by FCT-MEP and MC, edited as required, and saved in two sets of flash drives for FCT-MEP and MC.

    Person Specification

    • Evidence of at least five years’ experience in professional photography; experience working with international organizations or public health projects is an advantage.
    • Ownership of a professional digital camera and appropriate accessories that meet current industry standards.
    • Capacity to use computers for editing, organizing and documenting images, including proficiency in relevant photo editing software.

    Video Producer
