    Business Development & Commercial Manager

    Description

    • The Business & Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas sector.
    • The role focuses on market expansion, client acquisition, tender opportunity sourcing, and revenue growth, working closely with commercial, technical, and tendering teams to convert opportunities into profitable contracts.
    • The role plays a key part in strengthening client relationships and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.

    Key Responsibilities
    Business Development & Market Expansion:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across upstream, midstream, and downstream Oil & Gas segments.
    • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, projects, and strategic partnerships.
    • Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis, and opportunity assessments to support decision-making.
    • Support the development and execution of the company’s business growth strategy.

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients including IOCs, NNPC, indigenous operators, EPC contractors, and service providers.
    • Lead client engagements, meetings, and presentations to promote the company’s services and capabilities.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Identify opportunities for repeat business and contract renewals.

    Tendering & Proposal Support:

    • Identify and track Oil & Gas tender opportunities and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).
    • Collaborate with the tendering and technical teams in preparing pre-qualifications, proposals, and bid submissions.
    • Contribute to commercial inputs including pricing assumptions, scope definition, and bid strategy.
    • Support clarification meetings, presentations, and post-bid negotiations as required.

    Sales & Revenue Generation:

    • Drive sales activities to achieve revenue targets and business development KPIs.
    • Prepare and present business cases, proposals, and commercial presentations to clients.
    • Support contract negotiations and handover processes following contract awards.
    • Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports on pipeline status and forecasted revenue.

    Internal Collaboration & Reporting:

    • Work closely with operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure proposals are aligned with execution capability and profitability goals.
    • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client interactions, and pipeline data.
    • Provide regular business development reports to the Business Commercial Lead or Executive Management.

    Compliance & Risk Awareness:

    • Ensure all business development activities comply with Oil & Gas regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Identify commercial and contractual risks at the opportunity stage and escalate as required.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
    • Master’s degree or professional certifications are an added advantage.
    • 5 - 8 years of proven experience in Business Development within the Oil & Gas industry.
    • Hands-on experience with Oil & Gas tendering, EOIs, and bid processes.
    • Track record of identifying and closing Oil & Gas contracts.

    Draftsman

    Job Summary

    • The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation projects in line with project specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
    • The role supports engineering design execution, project implementation, and documentation control to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of drawings for construction and procurement purposes.

    Key Responsibilities
    Technical Drawing & Design:

    • Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and other approved design software.
    • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable routing drawings, and single-line diagrams.
    • Prepare mechanical layouts, fabrication drawings, and instrumentation hook-up drawings.
    • Convert engineering sketches and specifications into detailed technical drawings.
    • Revise drawings based on engineer comments and project changes.

    Project Support:

    • Work closely with Engineers and Project Managers to understand design requirements.
    • Support preparation of As-Built drawings after project completion.
    • Assist in preparing drawings for tender submissions and technical proposals.
    • Ensure drawings align with project BOQ and technical scope.

    Documentation & Compliance:

    • Maintain drawing register and revision control log.
    • Ensure all drawings follow company naming conventions and standards.
    • Archive superseded drawings appropriately.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and safety regulations.

    Site Coordination:

    • Conduct site visits where necessary to gather measurements and verify dimensions.
    • Update drawings based on site conditions and modifications.
    • Liaise with site engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Accuracy of drawings (minimal revisions required)
    • Timely submission of drawings
    • Compliance with project standards
    • Proper documentation and revision control
    • Support to engineering and project teams.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of OND / HND / BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
    • With 2 – 5 years’ experience as a Draftsman in engineering, construction, oil & gas, or related industry.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
    • Knowledge of Revit, SolidWorks, or other design software is an added advantage.
    • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and symbols.
    • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
