    Software Engineer

    Job Description

    This role involves the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation of business applications to support IBEDC's operational efficiency and business growth.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering or similar area of study.
    • Certification in Software Engineering and Business Process Automation would be an added advantage.
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in Web, mobile applications development.

    Skills & Competencies

    Technical competencies

    • Ability to develop software in PHP (Laravel), Node JS, Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, .Net.
    • Ability to develop web applications using Flutter, React Native and other mobile platforms and tools.
    • Excellent Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
    • Experience in developing front end applications using at least one popular web framework (ReactJs or Vuejs).
    • Experience with Test-driven development approach.
    • Proficiency in software engineering tools.
    • Ability to document requirements and specifications.

    Job Responsibility

    • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions using modern programming frameworks and testing methodologies.
    • Maintain, update, and integrate existing IBEDC systems to enhance functionality and performance.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document user requirements and evaluate emerging technologies for potential implementation.
    • Manage the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
    • Provide user and technical training to ensure proper adoption and usage of software systems.
    • Collaborate closely with developers, UX designers, business analysts, and system architects to deliver integrated solutions.
    • Prepare comprehensive user manuals and technical documentation for reference and reporting.
    • Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders.
    • Carry out other sundry assignments as directed by Lead, Business Applications.

    Regional Safety Officer - Oyo Region

    Job Description

    To assist in implementing and maintaining a sound quality assurance system and continual improvement of Health, Safety, and Environment compliance in IBEDC. 

    Job Requirements

    1. A first degree in safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or any related discipline. 
    2. A postgraduate degree in any related discipline is an added advantage.
    3. Membership in relevant professional bodies. (ISPON); (BCSP); (ISHM).
    4. At least 2 years’ experience in the HSE field within a relevant industry (Utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, etc.)

    Technical competencies

    1. Adequate knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
    2. Adequate utility industry knowledge and applicable HSE policies across the industry 
    3. Understanding of applicable HSE policies, laws, and regulations
    4. Ability to recognize and assess safety hazards, and develop abatement/control measures 
    5. Adequate risk management skills (risk identification and mitigation) 
    6. Adequate knowledge of safety and health standards, regulations, and liability issues.
    7. Strong interpersonal and relationship Management skills 
    8. Knowledge of HSE tools/ software systems

    Job Responsibility

    1. Follow-up on compliance with health and safety policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines.  
    2. Carry out hazard-hunting activities region-wide, suggest effective control measures and monitor all
    3. recommendations for non-conformances to prevent occurrence/reoccurrence as the case may be.  
    4. Support the implementation of culture-changing tools, techniques, and programs towards sustainable change. 
    5. Apply, monitor, and measure all health and safety loss prevention programs, such as accident prevention plans, HSE Meetings, Safety Toolbox talks, job hazard analysis workshops, training, and inspection and audit programs. 
    6. Carry out minor accident and near-miss investigations to establish the Root Cause of occurrence,
    7. recommend remedial measures to avoid reoccurrence, and draw learning points to sensitize staff against such.
    8. Identify and report trending and data analysis of Business Hubs/Service Units for escalation where needed.  
    9. Prepares periodic and ad-hoc health and safety reports by relevant stipulations/guidelines.
    10. Ensure adherence to standards and regulations by incorporating relevant occupational health safety and environmental legislations in IBEDC’s operation/activities Business Hub-wide. 
    11. Support the implementation of programs that promote federal, state, and local safety & environmental regulations. 
    12. Inspect installed machinery to check for the effectiveness of safety devices. 
    13. Inspection of protection schemes to ensure compliance, effective documentation, and storage. 
    14. Ensure close out of all recommendations for non-conformances (Near miss & accident investigations,
    15. inspections, Audit, regulatory e. t. c) to prevent reoccurrence. 
    16. Manage the storage, reuse, recycle & disposal of residual and hazardous wastes. 
    17. Implement process and product safety standards that will eliminate or reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards. 
    18. Carry out other sundry assignments that may be assigned by the regional safety supervisor.
