    Solar System Design Engineer

    We are looking to engage a competent and experienced Solar System Design Engineer to design suitable solar solutions to help meet our clients’ needs. He or she will work with the team to understand the client’s power needs, conduct detailed site audits, and design custom solutions to meet the client’s objectives.

    Key responsibilities:

    Solar Systems Design

    • Design solar PV systems (on-grid, off grid, hybrid).
    • Conduct site/energy audits and analyse customer needs.
    • Produce comprehensive technical and commercial offers.
    • Lead technical client conversations through email, phone calls and in person meetings.
    • Responsible for validating/endorsing technical solutions.
    • Perform system costing in coordination with the supply chain department and other internal key stakeholders.

    General

    • Assist in market research and identify solar energy projects in Africa.
    • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector.

    Working condition

    • Approximately 50% of time shall be spent in office environments with the remaining time in the field.

    Physical requirements

    • The Engineer shall be capable of lifting up to 20kg; stand for an extended period of time; work in outdoor environment.

    Requirements

    • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry, installing and / or maintaining solar systems.

    Competencies:

    • Computer proficiency required, creating spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Software Programs (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in particular).
    • Use of software like HOMER, Pvsyst and Helioscope.

    Language Proficiency:

    • English (excellent oral & writing skills).
    • French (oral & writing skills) will be an added advantage

    Character:

    • A self-motivated individual that demonstrates a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
    • Passionate about quality of workmanship.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work well in teams.
    • Discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
    • Must demonstrate excellent team and people management skills.

    HR Associate

    Key responsibilities:

    Recruitment of high-performance teams

    • Facilitate the recruitment process commencing from the selection of high-performance candidates, interviewing, due diligence, preparation of employment contracts and employee induction and training.
    • Maintenance of up-to-date job requirements for the various departments and job descriptions for vacancies.
    • Manage recruiting and human resources budgets.

    Performance Management

    • Draft and manage key performance indicators for employees.
    • Planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee output.
    • Oversee and manage performance appraisal system that drives high performance.

    Human Resources Analytics

    • Manage, track and draw insightful data-based inferences from Employee data on retention, recruitments, diversity, equity, inclusion and other relevant ratios.
    • Design and manage interactive HR dashboards from various Employee metrics for visualization and automations.
    • Prepare required reports, present findings and recommend Employee Engagement initiatives.

    Human Resources Operations and Statutory Compliance

    • Oversee the functional HR budget and manage expenses within budget allocations.
    • Maintain and update relevant databases (recruitment, performance history, employee database, organisation structures, training, etc)
    • Draft and update human resource policies and procedures.
    • Provide consultation to management on employee relations issues and effectively manage disciplinary issues within the company.
    • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.)
    • Coordinate and document HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.)
    • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
    • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.

    Requirements

    • Education: Relevant degree with excellent grades and HR certification.
    • Experience: 3-5 years HR operations/admin experience within a fast-paced structured business environment. Strong preference will be given to applicants that have worked in a multinational corporation.
    • Language Proficiency: English (excellent oral & writing skills).

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Proven experience and knowledge of Nigerian labour law and regulations.
    • Knowledge of HR Systems & Processes i.e. HR Policies, Recruitment, Selection & Deployment, Performance Management, Career Development, Training Management, Compensation Administration, Employee Communication, Workforce Profiling, Employee Data Management.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office applications in particular, MS Word, Excel , PowerPoint and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
    • Basic Project Management.
    • Organisation/Administration skills.
    • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
    • Ability to critically analyse complex problems and provide structured solutions.
    • Comfortable with working as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours if necessary.
    • Possess keen eyes for details.
    • Creativity & Innovation.
