    Church & Public Relations Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Bible Society of Nigeria is currently looking for a Church & Public Relations Officer who will be responsible for servicing existing donors/members of the society.
    • He or she will be assigned and required to enlist new donors and members through church/synod speaking engagements, personal selling, corporate and individual prospecting, mail order, and digital marketing initiatives, among other resource mobilization strategies.
    • The job holder will be part of the CPRD team that will be responsible for achieving the Society’s resource mobilization, Church and Public engagement initiatives, among accomplishing other organizational goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive resource mobilization initiatives and programmes for execution of projects and programmes of the organization.
    • Relate with and service existing donors/members of the organization.
    • Prospect and enlist new donors/members for the organization.
    • Be an active team member of programmes & events planning for the organization.
    • Relate with and speak at Churches/Christian bodies’ fellowship to enlist their support for the organization.
    • Effectively manage assigned donors/members to ensure their maximum endorsement and support for the organization.
    • To develop the entire Eastern Zone and ensure the organization has and maintain a vibrant and viable presence in the Zone.
    • Undertake other assigned responsibilities pivotal to the smooth operations and success of the Bible Society of Nigeria.

    Personnel Specifications
    Educational & Professional Qualifications:

    • B.Sc./HND in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field of study.
    • Masters or MBA will be an added advantage.
    • The Church & Public Relations Officer should of necessity, hold the membership of N.I.P.R and A.R.C.O.N professional bodies.
    • This may not be indispensable, but a successful candidate would be encouraged to ensure securing membership of these related professional bodies where at the point of employment they have yet to acquire the same.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in marketing/sales or business development.

    Skills:

    • Good Knowledge of – Office Suits, Excel, Corel Draw, Photoshop, and Canva
    • Digital Marketing Skills (highly desired)
    • Excellent Spoken and Written Communication Skills
    • High Organization Skills
    • Good Public Relations and Management Skills
    • Ability to develop good and impactful letters and proposals
    • Good knowledge of nonprofit organization operations
    • Familiar with World and Nigerian philanthropic ecosystems

    Ability To:

    • Respond promptly to Donors and prospective donors’ enquiries
    • Acknowledge donors’ gifts appropriately, not more than 48 hours of receiving the same
    • Manage donors satisfactorily
    • Relate with all church denominations in the spirit of ecumenism

    Driver

    Key Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will among others do the following:

    • Ensure effective and efficient use as well as proper handling of any assigned vehicle for optimum function always.
    • Ensures assigned vehicle documents are valid, complete, and up-to-date always.
    • Report any noticed faults, breakdowns, or part defects in the vehicle immediately and follow up until the repair or replacement is completed.
    • Ensure prompt servicing of assigned vehicles and monitoring of the same for quality delivery.
    • Ensure the correct and appropriate use of the vehicle for its intended purpose (s).

    Personnel Specification
    The candidate must:

    • Possess a Senior School Certificate.
    • Be a person of integrity, good character, disciplined and knowledgeable of traffic codes and signs.
    • Have a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
    • Possessing a valid driver’s licence and the ability to drive both lightweight vehicles (cars and buses) and trucks (16 – 22 tonnes) would be an added advantage.
    • Primary school leaving certificate holder with good and impeccable knowledge of driving, with at least 10 years of driving experience, may equally apply.
    • Possess excellent administrative and communication skills; must be a team player and able to coordinate team members to achieve expected results.

    Warehouse Assistant

    Key Responsibilities

    • Receiving stock from the ports as required.
    • Prompt processing of stock requisitions from Distribution Representatives.
    • Cross-checking stock issued to other locations against waybills for accuracy.
    • Timely and accurate posting of waybills and return-to-stock documents on QuickBooks.
    • Compiling and submitting daily and weekly reports as stipulated.
    • Ensuring zero stock discrepancies at all times.
    • Conducting daily stock reconciliation using QuickBooks.
    • Performing other assigned duties as required.

    Personnel Specification

    • National Diploma (OND) in Accounting or Business Administration or related disciplines
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting Package.
    • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Initiative and proactiveness.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective time management.

    Maintenance Assistant

    Summary

    • The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the effective operation, upkeep, and safety of The Bible Society of Nigeria’s facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
    • The role requires a strong mechanical orientation with working knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems, ensuring that all facilities support BSN’s mission and daily operations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Mechanical and Equipment Maintenance:

    • Carry out routine inspection, servicing, and minor repairs of mechanical equipment and tools.
    • Assist in diagnosing mechanical faults and escalating complex issues to external technicians when required.
    • Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment status.

    Vehicle Support:

    • Provide basic vehicle maintenance support, including routine checks (oil, coolant, belts, tyres, batteries).
    • Identify mechanical issues in vehicles and report promptly for corrective action.
    • Support coordination of vehicle servicing, repairs, and compliance documentation.

    Plumbing Works:

    • Carry out basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing taps, pipes, valves, and sanitary fittings.
    • Ensure proper functioning of water supply and drainage systems within BSN facilities.
    • Ensure regular pumping of water into facility tanks and timely evacuation of septic tanks.

    Electrical Support:

    • Perform basic electrical tasks such as replacing sockets, switches, bulbs, fittings, and minor wiring under supervision.
    • Report electrical faults that require certified electricians.
    • Ensure safe use of electrical installations and compliance with safety standards.

    General Facilities Support:

    • Assist in preventive maintenance of buildings, offices, and utilities and Lagos Bible Guest House facilities
    • Support setup and maintenance of facilities for meetings, events, and official functions.
    • Ensure tools and maintenance materials are properly stored and accounted for.
    • Observe and promote workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.

    Personnel Specification
    Educational Qualification

    • Minimum of OND, Trade Test Certificate, or Technical School Certificate in Mechanical  Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or a related technical discipline.

    Experience

    • 2–3 years’ practical experience in facility or equipment maintenance.
    • Strong mechanical background is essential.
    • Basic working knowledge of:
      • Vehicle maintenance
      • Plumbing systems
      • Electrical installations.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Practical mechanical troubleshooting skills.
    • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
    • Ability to use hand tools and basic maintenance equipment.
    • Good problem-solving and fault-reporting skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and attention to detail.
    • Must be physically fit.
