    Commissioning Manager - Mechanical

    Responsibilities

    • Develop commissioning plans and schedules in collaboration with project management, engineering, and other relevant teams.
    • Oversee the creation and upkeep of all commissioning-related documentation, such as procedures, checklists, and reports.
    • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and materials required for commissioning activities.
    • Lead a team of commissioning engineers and technicians, delegating tasks and offering guidance to achieve successful commissioning outcomes.
    • Implement quality control processes to ensure commissioning activities comply with project specifications and standards.
    • Identify and address risks related to commissioning, including potential delays and technical challenges.
    • Supervise the execution of functional testing, performance testing, and validation to confirm the operational readiness of systems and equipment.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the client during the commissioning phase, providing regular updates on progress and resolving any issues.
    • Prepare detailed commissioning reports summarising the outcomes of testing and validation activities.
    • Ensure all commissioning processes comply with applicable industry standards and codes.
    • Foster a culture of safety on-site and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout commissioning activities.
    • Provide ongoing support to operations and maintenance teams as required after project handover.

    Qualification / Experience

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of offshore/Oil and Gas Industry maintenance, focusing on pumps, valves, and mechanical systems.
    • FPSO experience is an added advantage.
    • International experience in Nigeria, Africa is a plus
    • Experience working effectively in a multicultural team
    • Degree or trade qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
    • Commissioning certification is desirable but not essential.
    • Proficiency in IT, including the MS Office Suite; experience with BIM 360 is advantageous.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a similar management-level role.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Familiarity with various testing procedures, methodologies, and tools used during commissioning.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to document and resolve issues arising during the commissioning phase.
    • Understanding of safety standards and regulations relevant to commissioning activities.
    • Capability to conduct safety risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures during commissioning.
    • Effective collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Expertise in preparing detailed reports, manuals, and documentation for handover to the operations team.
    • Certifications:
      • Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
      • Certification in mechanical systems maintenance is an advantage.

    Senior Mechanical Technician I

    Job Description

    • Assist planning manpower for work activities.
    • Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and regulations.
    • Comply with the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Codes of Practice.
    • Contribute to workflow improvement, planning and scheduling activities.
    • Document inspection and maintenance activities.
    • Ensure proper housekeeping of spare parts, equipment and tools.
    • Oversee the work of contractors outside the mechanical and electrical team to ensure safety requirements and operating standards are met.
    • Manages intervention reporting using the CMIMS,
      Enters intervention reports in the CMIMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field
    • Monitors the functioning of systems placed under his responsibility,
    • Ensures that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in this himself
    • Perform fault analysis and testing of mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Perform on-the-job coaching of team members.
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Notifies Team Leader of potentially dangerous systems and takes corrective action
    • Changes hydraulic components of aerial platforms, digger, derricks, cranes, and power operated equipment
    • Use work management systems, engineering databases, and maintenance documents to performance work
    • Check mechanical systems on a routine basis for problems or abnormalities
    • To set up, adjust, install, dismantle, and repair various plant equipment, primarily mechanical service equipment and motors in the facility
    • Tests equipment to check operation, tests equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime
    • Makes preventive maintenance equipment check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action
    • Examines defects and analyzes causes and, where possible, takes corrective action
    • Performs varied mechanical duties such as dismantling, moving, cleaning, repairing and installing facility equipment
    • Uses hoists, rollers or trolleys to move machinery
    • May handle equipment installation projects from start to finish, including initiating contact with vendors to review equipment problems and determine proper repairs or improvements to equipment and interacting with other departments such as Engineering and Purchasing to complete the project.

    Qualifications / Experience

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 15 years of proven experience in Mechanical engineering, with significant experience in the oil and gas industry.
    • Offshore/FPSO experience is required
    • Certifications:
      • Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
      • Certification in mechanical systems maintenance is an advantage.

    Compression and Mechanical Specialist

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate directly with gas clients to identify project needs, develop project scoping documents, and support project execution.
    • Lead the design and engineering of compression systems, ensuring they meet a wide range of performance requirements and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
    • Preparation and review of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Process Flow Diagrams, heat and material balances, P&I Diagrams, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies & reports, Operation & Maintenance Manuals, etc.
    • Prepare and review specifications and data sheets for compressors, control systems, and related equipment.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations for new and retrofit compression projects.
    • Participate in compressor, Engine and gas turbine startup, performance testing and troubleshooting.
    • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams for existing compression systems.
    • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement corrective actions to optimize system efficiency.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement preventive measures.
    • Review of Client documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations
    • Prepare and review instrument data sheets and specifications (control valves, PSV’s, meters, etc.)
    • Participate in planning, cost control and scheduling for assigned projects.
    • Develop and review TIC estimates.
    • Develop economic analysis (maintenance and energy cost) for equipment selection.
    • Maintain effective communication and relationships with project team members and clients, with a commitment to building enduring relationships leading to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications, and calculations
    • Coordinate with equipment vendors to develop project scope and execute detailed engineering.
    • Coordinate with torsional and acoustic analysis companies to ensure design is mechanically sound and components are properly selected.

    Qualification / Experience

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Compression or or a related field.
    • 10 years of proven experience in the oil and gas industry.
    • Offshore/FPSO experience is required

    Certifications:

    • Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
    • Certification in mechanical systems maintenance is an advantage
