    Plant Supervisor

    The Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the drilling fluids plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant blending, storage, and dispatch of drilling fluid products. The role involves supervising plant personnel, managing inventories of chemicals and additives, coordinating logistics for product delivery, and ensuring adherence to quality, HSE, and operational standards. The Plant Supervisor acts as the key link between mud engineers, field operations, and supply chain teams.

    • Oversee daily operations of the mud plant, including blending, mixing, and storage of drilling fluid products.
    • Supervise plant personnel, contractors, and support staff to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
    • Monitor chemical inventories, maintain stock levels, and ensure timely ordering and delivery of products.
    • Enforce strict compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
    • Ensure quality control testing of mud products before dispatch to rig sites.
    • Coordinate logistics for transportation of fluids, chemicals, and additives to drilling locations.
    • Prepare daily operational reports, plant performance records, and incident/maintenance logs.
    • Liaise with mud engineers and drilling teams to understand fluid requirements and ensure timely delivery.
    • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for plant equipment and machinery.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, safety, and cost optimization.

    Job Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in drilling fluids operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a mud plant or drilling fluids facility.
    • Professional certifications in HSE, plant operations, or process engineering are an added advantage.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with ability to manage multi-skilled teams.
    • In-depth knowledge of drilling fluids, chemicals, and plant blending/mixing operations.
    • Strong understanding of HSE standards, risk management, and environmental compliance.
    • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Proficiency in plant operations reporting, inventory management systems, and logistics coordination.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced oil & gas operational environment.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Mud Supervisor

    The Mud Supervisor oversees all drilling fluid operations at the rig site, ensuring that mud systems are designed, maintained, and optimized to support drilling objectives. The role involves supervising mud engineers, ensuring cost control, and liaising with drilling contractors and service providers to deliver safe and efficient operations.

    • Supervise and coordinate mud engineers and service providers at the rig site.
    • Oversee mud testing, treatments, and system adjustments to maintain drilling performance.
    • Ensure proper inventory management of chemicals, additives, and mud products.
    • Monitor mud costs and provide accurate daily cost tracking and reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory HSE standards in mud operations.
    • Troubleshoot complex drilling fluid challenges, including losses, stuck pipe, and wellbore instability.
    • Advise drilling team on fluid system impacts during drilling, casing, and completion operations.
    • Prepare daily mud reports, performance analyses, and recommendations for improvements.

    Job Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
    • At least 5 years of progressive experience in drilling fluids, with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
    • Proven track record in offshore and/or deepwater drilling environments.
    • Well control certification (IWCF/IADC) preferred.
    • Leadership and supervisory skills with ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Advanced knowledge of drilling fluids engineering and waste management.
    • Strong cost management and reporting skills.
    • Ability to make quick, sound technical decisions under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Mud Specialist

    The Mud Specialist is responsible for planning, monitoring, and maintaining drilling fluid systems to ensure safe, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant drilling operations. The role involves providing technical support on mud properties, testing, and treatment while coordinating with drilling engineers and rig site teams to optimize drilling performance.

    • Design, select, and maintain drilling fluid systems for various well conditions.
    • Conduct regular testing of drilling mud properties and ensure compliance with specifications.
    • Recommend chemical treatments and additives to maintain mud performance and wellbore stability.
    • Monitor solids control equipment and ensure efficient fluid circulation.
    • Identify and troubleshoot drilling fluid-related problems such as losses, kicks, and contamination.
    • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and environmental regulations in all mud operations.
    • Collaborate with drilling and completion engineers to optimize drilling performance.
    • Prepare technical reports, mud logs, and daily fluid system performance summaries.

    Job Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience as a Mud Specialist in oil and gas drilling operations.
    • Strong knowledge of drilling fluids chemistry, rheology, and hydraulics.
    • Certification in well control (IWCF/IADC) is an advantage.
    • Proficiency in mud testing equipment and laboratory analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
    • Ability to work in challenging offshore and onshore environments.
    • Familiarity with industry standards (API, ISO) for drilling fluids.
