    Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant

    Key responsibilities:

    • Participate in the design of programme monitoring and evaluation tools (IYCF registers, CMAM database etc.) to track projects progress;
    • In collaboration with Nutrition and Health, WASH and FSL teams, ensure timely data collection, compilation and reporting according to programme MEAL plan;
    • Conduct monthly data analysis and prepare monthly programme monitoring reports;
    • Ensure the programme database is updated regularly;
    • Support programme feedback meetings to communities, facilities and authorities;
    • Support the MEAL Officers and MEAL Manager in data management for rapid assessments, situational analysis, surveys, evaluations and other research as required;
    • Plan, forecast and facilitate the production and supply of M&E tools and materials to supported sites;
    • Conduct daily debriefing with data collectors and ensure that issues and challenges are reported to the M&E Officer;
    • Support M&E Officer in collating program data for trend analysis per project;
    • Support the MEAL Officers and MEAL Manager to monitor progress across all target communities and communicate findings and progress to Program Managers;
    • Participate in evaluation of the projects (FSL, WASH, Nutrition and Health), focusing on data management of evaluation datasets;
    • Support the dissemination and use of evaluation and research reports and propose changes for improvement to the team;
    • Support report writing development of Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM).

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Rural Development, Business Administration, Statistics, Demography or related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects;
    • 1 year previous experience with local or international NGOs;
    • Previous experience with FSL, WASH, and Health and Nutrition projects;
    • Proficiency in the use of MS excel or other statistical package. e.g SPSS, STATA, ODK;
    • Fluency in English, Hausa and Kanuri;
    • Ability to work in partnership with government and development partners;
    • Good interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to work within a team setting;
    • Independence, adaptability and flexibility;
    • Excellent communication skills including report writing.

    Finance Officer

    Key responsibilities:

    • Daily record all bank account expenses in the excel book, in respect of Action Against Hunger standards in terms of use of chart of accounts, project code, contract and financial line and the third party codes;
    • Reconciliation of cash book and bank statement;
    • Ensure correspondence between the physical cash and bank book (bank statements) and the Excel/Saga cash & bank book on a daily, Bi-weekly and monthly basis;
    • Ensure bank books & cash book are closed, reconciled & sent to capital office on monthly basis together with the bank reconciliation & cash counts;
    • Make payments after verifying the consistency of supporting documents submitted in accordance with the Action Against Hunger procedures, ensuring all invoices are accurate, consistent and signed;
    • Verify accuracy of and pay invoices for purchases and comply with procurement procedure;
    • Contribute to elaboration of budget/ reports/ financial analysis when required or requested by line manager or Finance HOD;
    • Assist Finance Manager in BFU review meetings;
    • Support in preparation of the Bi-weekly cash transfer request to be submitted to the Finance HOD;
    • Ensure that the cash box, bank, and the main safe maintain the minimum security amount;
    • Maintain cash, bank, supplier contracts, PAYE, vendor & all other finance relevant contracts in finance department;
    • Supervise the base Finance Assistants and ensure proper verification of documents being checked;
    • Set objectives with staff under his/her direct management, and appraise their performance in accordance with Action Against Hunger performance management policies, identifying areas where they require support and capacity building;
    • Ensure staff allowances are accurately computed in line with the HR policies before processing;
    • Verify accuracy of and pay vouchers for the allowances of stakeholder, seconded staff and daily workers;
    • Manage the advances, ensuring invoices are received and that they are consistent with the Action Against Hunger’s procedures (invoice accurate and signed);

    Position Requirements:

    • A University Degree/HND, BSc in Finance, Accounting or a related Business Management field is required;
    • A relevant professional membership (ACCA, ICAN, ANAN) is an added advantage;
    • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Finance and Accountancy;
    • Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft excel, literacy and numeracy;
    • Exceptional organization and planning skills, ability to manage and follow work plans;
    • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, able to negotiate, influence, give effective feedback, be a team player;
    • Able to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities, and balance various team needs;
    • Experience with computerized accounting systems; knowledge of SAGA would be a plus;
    • Champion of ACF Charter values of: Professionalism, Transparency, Neutrality, Access to Victims and  Non-Discrimination;
    • Previous ACF experience, previous INGO experience;
    • Experience with donor-funded programs;
    • Experience supervising others desirable;
    • Team player and flexible;
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Accountability Assistant

    Key responsibilities:

    • Ensure through a systematic way that during distributions, helpdesk/information table are established to the community members to answer beneficiary comments/questions;
    • Support the entry of complaints into the Action Against Hunger’s complaints and feedback database;
    • Prepare bi-weekly reports showing the various categories of complaints and the status of the complaints;
    • Lead in the handling of the Action Against Hunger’s toll-free lines;
    • Support training sessions of relevant staff members to support and ensure quality implementation of accountability mechanisms and information provision plans;
    • Support coordination of FSL, WASH, And Nutrition and Health projects monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual reviews and reports as required;
    • Participate in dissemination of program information to communities, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders through a regular feedback mechanism;
    • Support the management of the beneficiary complaints and feedback mechanism database;
    • Update shared drive and project team space with program monitoring documents regularly;
    • Facilitate the reporting and resolution of all FCM-related information;
    • Ensure complaints are close within appropriate time-frame.
