Entry-level custodial position. Performs custodial duties required to keep assigned office building, SAI buildings or other assigned facilities in a clean and orderly condition. May be assigned to help maintain the grounds. May be required to travel from building to building. Maintains assigned work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, walls, furniture and other building furnishings; sanitizes rest rooms, operates vacuums, carpet cleaners, buffers, etc; moves furniture,
• supplies, and miscellaneous equipment as needed. Routinely performs other duties such as dusting furniture, disposing of trash, cleaning of restaurants, cleaning grease traps, etc. Renovates and renews surfaces by using special equipment and products. Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers, vacuums, and helps keep equipment in working condition. May clean, fixtures, and wood paneling from ladders or scaffolding; hang curtains or drapes from ladders; remove dirts/weeds from sidewalks. Follows time schedule and prescribed methods. May assist in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requested. May perform minor repairs. May assist in planting, weeding, removal of dead flowers, cleaning planted areas. May operate lawn-cutting equipment.
• Maintains good public relations. Reports problems to supervisor. Sees that assigned area is properly maintained to the established standard.
• Performs other duties and attends meetings as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires general knowledge of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to operate equipment such as vacuums, etc. Basic understanding of hand tools used in making small repairs.

This position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can work, worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances.  Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and  2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community. 

This position performs journey level custodial work.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, etc. as instructed including fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, equipment, windowsills, walls, etc.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, and extraction equipment, etc.
• Sanitize areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructed
• Wet or damp mop floors
• Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling, etc.
• Spot clean carpets, rugs and upholstery
• Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials
• Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.
• Restock supplies
• Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment
• Remove leaves 
• On call responsibilities may be required
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs
• May assist in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requested
• May perform minor repairs
• Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or a higher Diploma in Housekeeping or a related field
• Comprehensive understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 23kg
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time
• Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners, chemicals and equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums etc.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools and make small repairs
• Ability to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision
• Must have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a team
• Ability to understand and write English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety
• Capable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing and able to ask clarifying questions as needed
• Must comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicals 
• Previous experience or knowledge in a similar role preferred
• May be required to work odd hours
• Must be in good health
