    Klasha was founded in 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria by a team of ex-Amazon, Shopify, Net-a-Porter and ASOS employees. It was founded to make consumer goods online more accessible to customers across Africa. At Klasha, we believe that consumers in Africa should have the same frictionless access to the goods they want regardless of their geographic location.     Senior Product Designer

    This candidate will have a strong ability to turn scope and ideas into attractive products based on customer needs. You would ideally also feel comfortable creating prototypes and communicating with internal teams to deliver wholesome solutions. 

     

    We're a Seed-stage startup, so ideally you'd be comfortable wearing multiple hats. We're learning quickly, shipping regularly, and working cross-functionally to build the future of commerce in Africa. You'll be joining a vibrant, mission-led team that cares deeply about the work we're doing. 

    Responsibilities

    • Be a role model for other designers on the team and coach them.
    • Decide on our design language and how our design system should evolve.
    • Build processes as and when needed to help the team deliver during hypergrowth.
    • Build the agency within the team to adapt their working agreements for a collaborative and high-impact workflow.
    • Analyse projections and forecasts and come up with opportunities to move the metrics and influence strategy.
    • Support the C Suite and management in the design direction for the company.
    • Identify opportunities for new products.
    • Analyse how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences.
    • Set design requirements based on briefs from internal teams and external partners.
    • Produce prototypes and test functionality.
    • Improve the design of existing products.
    • Gather feedback from product users.
    • Identify new product improvement opportunities.
    • Analyse how a new product satisfies market needs and consumer preferences.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree in any business-related course, computer science, engineering, or equivalent preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Product Designer, Product Designer or similar role.
    • Experience as a UI/UX Designer as well as a strong portfolio of related projects.
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop).
    • Creativity in mixing up colours, shapes, and techniques.
    • Experience with design programs (like Illustrator and Sketch).
    • Time-management skills.
    • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
    • You pay strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for aesthetics.
    • You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions.

    Founders Associate

    You will work closely with our senior leaders to develop and implement effective strategies that drive growth and improve operations. You should have a passion for entrepreneurship, creating innovative products, and empathising with and supporting our customers.

    We're a Seed-stage startup, so ideally you'd be comfortable wearing multiple hats. We're learning quickly, shipping regularly, and working cross-functionally to build the future of commerce in Africa. You'll join a mission-led team that cares deeply about connecting Africa with the global economy. 

    You'll be working with our candid and collaborative team, where your knowledge and advice about application architecture and the newest mobile technologies will be highly appreciated. The code you write will need to be cleanly organized and of the highest quality. You’ll also help ensure solid application performance and an excellent user experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with senior leaders to develop and implement effective strategies that drive growth and improve operations
    • Conduct research and analyse data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
    • Participate in high-level meetings and contribute to discussions on key initiatives and projects
    • Act as a thought partner, providing insights and recommendations on complex business issues
    • Support the development of key metrics and KPIs to measure the success of initiatives and identify areas for improvement
    • Work on building statistical or financial models  

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in a related field e.g. computer science, entrepreneurship, 
    • Background in early-stage startups, venture building or management consulting 
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results
    • Experience with project management and driving cross-functional initiatives

    Head of Finance

    As a Seed-stage startup, you will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, this position requires the ability to work independently, communicate complex concepts in concise terms, prioritise tasks, and work with various departments efficiently.

    • Liquidity and treasury management, overseeing Klasha's financial resources to help meet wider business objectives.
    • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
    • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
    • Develop trends and projections for Klasha's finances.
    • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction/optimisation opportunities.
    • Oversee operations of the Finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
    • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
    • Liaise with auditors to ensure the appropriate monitoring of Company finances is maintained
    • Confident oversight and delivery of Central bank reporting 
    • Personable and business facing 
    • Partnerships and relationship building 
    • Managing the output and nurturing the development of a Finance Executive 

    Requirements

    • Based in the EU remotely or Cape Town. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related course 
    • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in fintech or financial services.
    • CIMA or equivalently certified 
    • Significant exposure to Treasury Management. 
    • Experience working globally 
    • Automation savvy, with proficiency in analytics and wider tooling. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and defend data-driven recommendations. 
    • A charismatic relationship builder, able to win the trust of external and internal partners alike 
    • High level of determination and tenacity.
