    Finance Officer (Microfinance Bank)

    Job Summary:

    The Company is seeking to hire a competent Finance Officer, who will be in charge of its financial health by overseeing the overall financial operations. Budget planning, audit participation, transaction monitoring, and invoice preparation will be among the job responsibilities. Ultimately, the finance officer will be in charge of managing the financial transactions and processes daily.

    This role requires an excellent communicator, with excellent organizational skills and must be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets.
    • Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency.
    • Maintain records and receipts of all daily transactions.
    • Ensure financial records are kept up-to-date with the latest transactions and changes.
    • Participate in financial audits.
    • Reconcile bank statements.
    • Reconciling daily, monthly, and yearly transactions.
    • Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems.

    • 3-5 years’ work experience as a Finance Officer in the Financial Technology sector.

    Compliance Officer (Microfinance Bank)

    Job Summary:

    The company is seeking to hire an experienced compliance officer who will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight, development, and management of quality systems, contract compliance, and operational business processes. In addition, s/he will oversee interventions throughout the programming cycle and ensure compliance with the company’s established policies, procedures, strategy, and also regulatory laws.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Constantly reviewing and revising Compliance policies, including corporate governance and anti-money laundering.
    • Respond to regulators about AML/Sanctions compliance, consumer protection, and data privacy.
    • Develop, implement, and execute the internal compliance training program.
    • Work closely with Legal on all Compliance, Risk Management, and Business Development matters across Africa.
    • Liaise with regulators, including coordination for any regulatory on-site inspections across the company’s operating locations.
    • Ensure suspicious transaction reports, screening, and KYC are fully investigated in line with regulatory requirements.
    • Support applications for and continuing maintenance of FinTech-related business licenses.
    • Assess various risks such as – country, customer, product, and cyber and report to Management and Board.
    • Carry out Companywide AML/TF Internal Risk Assessment.
    • Pre-empt, prevent, and correct compliance breaches.
    • Stay updated on industry developments and new FCA, AML, and KYC rules and regulations.
    • Provide compliance regulatory risk assessment and program implementation.
    • Escalate regulatory risks and policy breaches or discrepancies, wherever necessary to the appropriate authority.
    • Implement compliance frameworks of digital payment to ensure a smooth launch into new markets and new products.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years cognate experience as a Compliance Officer from the financial or fin-tech industry.
    • Experience working in a startup or a fast-paced environment will be a plus.

    Planning Engineer (Building Construction Company)

    Job Summary:

    The planning engineer will prepare the detailed project schedule based on widely accepted engineering practices and derive reports on different management hierarchal levels. The planning engineer is expected to work within the project control team to support the project management team in achieving the project schedule. S/he must be open to learning the Company’s ERP system for monitoring and tracking materials status among other usage.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and define project goals and objectives.
    • Develop an activity list for new projects.

    • Plan, coordinate, and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes, and systems.
    • Educate employees on methods to ensure project continuity and completeness.
    • Develop detailed task lists and work effort assessments.
    • Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.
    • Oversee schedules, and risk management plans, and provide serious deviation warnings hindering project results.
    • Develop WBS for each activity group and develop a schedule based on the above.
    • Track all subcontract schedule performance to ensure that subcontractors meet the approved schedule.
    • Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.
    • Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all clients to reassess, renegotiate, and amend the scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts, and budgets.
    • Alert project management team, on when schedule recovery is required and what type of schedule compression tool to use.
    • Develop a list of activities on the schedule critical path for tracking and reporting.
    • Provide subcontract schedule of works for tenders
    • Ensure to convey required project data and information to project teams.
    • Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management.
    • Evaluate and analyze team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.
    • Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
    • Utilize the ERP for tracking materials procurement and reporting on the impact of late procurement on the overall schedule.
    • Gather actual data, update the project schedule, and develop reliable schedule forecasts with support from the project team.
    • Carry out other duties on planning and reporting as may be assigned by the Project Control Manager

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related field or Applied Science with a minimum of 4-8 years of relevant experience. 
    • Master’s Degree, PMI-SP certification, and any other related professional qualification will be an added advantage.
