Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity by forecasting cash needs and optimizing working capital.
• Implement effective cash management strategies to support business operations.
• Identify and assess financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies to safeguard the financial health of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
• Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities as needed.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to team members for professional development.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices for financial operations.
• Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders, including senior management and board members.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
• Manage the external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required documentation.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• ACA or ACCA certification is a must.
• 5+ years of proven experience in a finance role, with a track record of successful financial leadership.
• Agency banking experience is desired
• Proficiency in Data Analysis, Excel, SAGE, Cost Analysis, Financial Reporting, PowerPoint Presentation

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the overall business objectives and contribute to the growth and efficiency of the agency banking/fintech operations.
2. Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners involved in the agency banking operations. Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and relationships are aligned with business objectives.
3. Collaborate with the technology team to integrate and optimize systems and platforms that support agency banking operations, ensuring seamless and secure transactions.
4. Implement systems and processes to monitor and analyze transaction activities, identifying and addressing any anomalies or irregularities promptly.
5. Develop and enforce risk management protocols to safeguard financial transactions, data, and customer information. Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the agency banking operations, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Oversee the onboarding, training, and ongoing support of agency banking partners. Ensure compliance with operational guidelines, standards, and regulatory requirements.
8. Establish and enforce quality assurance standards for customer interactions, ensuring a high level of service delivery and compliance with industry and company standards.
9. Develop metrics for awareness creation and mobilization of the tech project and ensure that associating activities are carried out
10. Conduct regular internal audits, review and consolidate financial accounting books
11. Handle the overall coordination, management and implementation of the company, support the development and usage of finance services in line with the tech scope.
12. Approve loan disbursement to credit worthy customers and ensure loan payments in a time-efficient manner.

Key Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Financial Management or related discipline. MBA is an added advantage.
2. An average 4-5 years’ experience in a financial institution or related Industry with at least 2 years in Fintech start up.
3. Professional certification in accounting/banking (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ACIB etc.) would be an advantage.
4. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office (in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
