    Senior Executive - Import

    The Senior Executive - Import is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the company’s import operations. This includes handling documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, liaising with suppliers, and working closely with customs authorities to facilitate the smooth movement of goods. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of import processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Job Detail

    Import Operations

    1. Coordinate and manage end-to-end import processes, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery.
    2. Prepare and verify all import-related documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
    3. Monitor and ensure compliance with international trade regulations, tariffs, and import duties.
    4. Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

    Supplier and Stakeholder Management

    1. Communicate with international suppliers to confirm orders, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines.
    2. Negotiate terms with logistics providers to optimize shipping costs and transit times.
    3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customs authorities and external partners.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    1. Ensure adherence to government regulations, trade policies, and company guidelines related to imports.
    2. Stay updated on changes in import/export laws and advise management on potential impacts.
    3. Handle disputes or delays in customs clearance and resolve issues efficiently.

    Data Management and Reporting

    1. Maintain accurate records of import activities and costs.
    2. Generate reports on import performance metrics, such as lead times, costs, and supplier reliability.
    3. Use data insights to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

    Job Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
    2. 5-7 years of experience in import operations, supply chain, or logistics roles.
    3. In-depth knowledge of INCOTERMS, shipping documentation, and customs clearance procedures.
    4. Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
    5. Certification in international trade or logistics (e.g., CILT, APICS, or FIATA) is an advantage.

    Key Skills and Competencies

    1. Strong understanding of import processes, customs regulations, and international trade laws.
    2. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage complex import operations.
    3. Proficiency in MS Office and import-related software (e.g., SAP, ERP systems).
    4. Strong communication and negotiation skills to deal with suppliers, freight forwarders, and authorities.

    Group-Level Strategy and Alignment

    1. Develop and implement a unified performance management strategy that aligns with the vision and goals of the group.
    2. Ensure coherence in performance management practices across subsidiaries while allowing for tailored approaches as per business needs.
    3. Collaborate with leadership across group entities to define measurable KPIs and metrics aligned with their operational objectives.

    System Design and Optimization

    Job Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
    2. Minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles within large or group organizations.
    3. Proven track record of implementing performance management systems across complex, matrixed organizations.
    4. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, HR analytics, and reporting tools.
    5. Experience in handling multi-industry or multi-geographical businesses is essential.
    6. Certification in HR-related disciplines (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPM) is desirable.
