    Procurement Officer

    Job Summary

    • Effectively manage and coordinate the procurement of good and services in accordance with the set procurement guidelines and procedures.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Sourcing and procurement of goods, works and services in accordance with good procurement practices and laid down procedures and guidelines.
    • Preparation of solicitation documents and enquiries for goods, works and services in liaison with user projects and undertake the appropriate bidding process.

    • Assess all vendors/suppliers and ensure that they meet the minimum requirements to be on the suppliers list. This also involves conducting supplier premises visits to monitor and evaluate supplier standards.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Purchasing and Supply or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Advanced Diploma Graduate
    • Minimum of 3 years work experience in procurement
    • Proficient in MS Excel/Word/Power Point
    • Experience with SAP will be an added advantage
    • Experience in working with manufacturing /Cement industry.
    • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
    • Having materials management/engineering knowledge background is an added advantage.

    Inventory Stores Officer - Cement Industry

    Description and Responsibilities

    • Executing inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system with proper documentation responsible for working with procurement on, goods inwards and issues to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly.
    • Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits
    • Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
    • Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks

    Stores Officer

    • Support the effective management of materials at the plant to ensure alignment of inventory levels with appropriate guidelines.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the stores (centralised) under the supervision of the Head, Stores.

    • Ensure incoming products are received and stored according to DCP’s policies & procedures.
    • Maintain online inventory management software and ensure timely identification of triggers (or manually identify when minimum threshold levels have been reached) to initiate actions for stock replenishment.
    • Post details of receipt and dispatch transactions and ensure integrity of the inventory management system.
    • Maintain up to date records of materials inventory at the stores (existing stock, pending orders, etc.)
    • Provide information on current stock and orders to provide justification for re-ordering.
    • Monitor trends of product receipt and dispatch at the stores to provide basis for demand forecasting
    • Conduct periodic inventory stock counting/ inventory accuracy checks
    • Perform end-of-day inventory reconciliation to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved in time.
    • Notify Head, Stores of irregularities in inventory records and support in reconciling/ resolving.
    • Maintain approved HSE best practices in the stores.
    • Develop periodic reports of stores operations and performance as required.
    • Maintain electronic inventory management database.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Stores.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration
    • 3 - 6 years working experience, with two (2) years relevant work experience in the manufacturing Industry.
    • Proficiency in the use Microsoft Suite is required.
    • Knowledge of SAP will be an advantage.

    • Assist with the management of the end-to-end implementation of approved new production systems to achieve seamless transition within the plant.
    • Implement the roll out, maintenance and institutionalisation of an operational intelligence system within the production unit.
    • Ensure that the production lines are structured optimally to deliver efficient and effective solutions in cement manufacturing.
    • Drive productivity improvements and reduce non-value adding expense within production systems.
    • Oversee the smooth running of a continuous feedback system to ensure that reports on all monitoring systems are produced accurately and on time.
    • Promote effective use of production tools and standard processes.
    • Assist in fostering an environment that embraces change and promotes innovative solutions to complex production problems.
