    Cash and Voucher Assistance Officer

    Role Overview

    • This role will be responsible for implementing the cash transfer activities of the LABDI Cash and nutrition project in Yobe State ensuring that the cash transfer component is delivered in a timely manner and to a high quality.
    • He/ she will work closely with the project team in Yobe State as well as the CVA.The CVA officer will also coordinate and collaborate with LABDI staff and report accordingly on project progress.
    • The role will manage and monitor all operational and technical areas of cash activities including budget management, coordination and representation, security, logistics, compliance with internal policies and procedures of cash transfer programming.
    • In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

    Key Responsibilities
    Project implementation:

    • Work closely with CVA Manager to implement cash activities.
    • Coordinate with LABDI counterparts in Yobe State.
    • Assist in sensitization of local government structures, communities and traditional authorities on the targeting criteria and identification and registration of beneficiaries.
    • Work close with MEAL staff to on-board enumerators to support with the registration of households receiving cash transfer.
    • Manage pre-paid cards (mode of cash transfer delivery) and work closely with relevant teams to ensure pre-paid cards are loaded correctly.
    • Oversee delivery of regular cash transfers and help ensure the resolution of any problems.
    • Actively participate in relevant field assessments to identify the beneficiaries’ needs and viable business opportunities, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs.
    • Organize the training of cash beneficiaries on the identified needs.
    • Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at field level, as laid out in the detailed implementation plan.
    • Support in the registration of target families, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriately.
    • Coordinate activities with local authorities, international community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
    • Compile and submit regular project reports and updates.
    • Support in the retrieving of pre-paid cards distributed to program participants at community level during enrollment and ensuring it is back

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or HND in relevant course Social Policy, Social Science, International Development, Economics or related relevant discipline
    • At least 3 years’ experience of working in Cash & Voucher Assistance in emergency and development settings, for a broad range of institutional donors and sectors
    • Previous humanitarian response experience
    • Understanding of Cash & Voucher Assistance in Nigeria
    • Experience with various cash and voucher modalities, including digital, mobile, card, paper voucher, and cash in envelopes.
    • Demonstrable understanding of M&E, beneficiary accountability, and learning
    • Experience in the application of methodologies to calculate cash/voucher amounts for sectoral outcomes, as well as for multipurpose cash transfers.
    • Familiar with the Sphere Standards (Handbook released in 2018)
    • Demonstrated program design, monitoring and evaluation skills, including designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale.
    • Able to generate and use data and evidence to innovate, deliver, learn and share what works and what doesn’t work for children.

    Nutrition Assistant

    Role Purpose

    • A Nutrition Assistant at LABDI typicallysupports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of nutrition programs, focusing on improving the health and well-being of women and children, particularly in developing countries.

    Job Description

    • Advocacy visit / awareness creation and engaging community stakeholders on the Nutrition project activities for community acceptance and participation.
    • Plan and organize nutrition activities at designated MAM sites in liaison with the nutrition officer and other program staff.
    • Support field level technical assessments and plan and organize LABDI community led supplementary program in project location site in liaison with the Nutrition Officer/Manager.
    • Conduct extensive routine integrated management of acute malnutrition (IMAM) Screening using mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) tape, bilateral pitting edema detection, operating under the SOPs of the CMAM component and principles.
    • Supporting targeting of beneficiaries; formation and establishment of Mother Care groups; selection of community volunteers and members of community structures.
    • Work closely with care group promoters and lead mothers to ensure all aspects of the program are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the community to MAM sites.
    • Ensure effective referrals of the identified malnourished children to the appropriate program (OTP, SC, Tom Brown) based on the level of malnutrition identified.
    • Engage in the IYCF counselling and IYCF message sessions during OTP days and ensure names of caregivers are recorded in the IYCF counselling register.
    • Educate lactating/breastfeeding mothers on maternal infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN) and effective breastfeeding positions (Cradle, Cross-cradle, side lying and under-arm etc.) for good mother – child bonding during breastfeeding.

    • Oversee the distribution of complementary food recipe in preparation for complementary food demonstration activities.

    Grievance Redressal Mechanisms (GRM) Associate

    Role Overview

    • The Grievance Redressal Mechanisms (GRM) Associate will support the implementation and management of LABDI’s feedback and complaint mechanisms in humanitarian and development projects.
    • The GRM Associate ensures that beneficiaries and community members can safely and confidentially raise concerns, complaints, or feedback—and that these are addressed promptly, professionally, and in line with LABDI’s safeguarding, protection, and accountability standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Feedback and Complaint Management:

    • Receive, log, and categorize grievances, complaints, and feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders via multiple channels (help desks, hotlines, suggestion boxes, community focal points, etc.).
    • Ensure timely and confidential handling of all cases in accordance with LABDI’s standard operating procedures and safeguarding policies.
    • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and secure records of complaints and their resolutions.

    Case Follow-up and Resolution:

    MEAL Officer

    General Job Description

    • The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer, under the supervision of the MEAL manager, supports the MEAL manager to provide methodological and technical support to teams to ensure the quality of MEAL tools in projects and programs, working within the framework established by the MEAL department/organisation, also as the MEAL Officer will ensure a well structured and clear feedback /complains channels are maintained, and complaints channelled internally to the appropriate department.

    • The position will be responsible for initiating, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the progress of key deliverables of the nutrition programme within Nangere LGA Of Yobe State programme.
    • The Nutrition Officer will provide technical guidance throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes/ projects.

    Major Responsibilities
    Summary of Key Functions/accountabilities:

    • Plan and monitor Nutrition programmed, verify the planned movements and distribution of nutrition products, resolving routine issues and/or escalating where appropriate, to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with the standards.
    • Summarize Nutrition data, conduct analysis and prepare reports to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
    • Improvements to field staff/monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of Nutrition programmers.
    • Build team capacity in Nutrition through effective guidance, coaching, training, and accountability.
    • Assist in developing and expanding malnutrition prevention activities through promotion of IYCF and awareness raising in targeted areas.
    • Strengthen eternal stakeholder engagement including district local governments to strengthen nutrition programming.
    • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure UNICEF /LABDI can quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
    • Participate in national level nutrition technical working group discussions as may be required by the Project/Sector Manager.
    • Any other duties as may be required.

    Technical and Operational Support to Programme Implementation:

    • Supported by the Nutrition Manager, conduct in-depth analysis of current interventions under nutrition and recommend corrective actions to guide and inform programme strategies across Yobe State.
    • Implement Nutrition activities that are backed by social and behavioural evidence and strong engagement and participation mechanisms in both development and humanitarian contexts.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders and partners for the implementation of community engagement
    • Work with nutrition stakeholders to build consensus on a harmonized national behavior change communication strategy, plans and materials.
    • Provide technical guidance and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners participate in discussions with national and sub-national stakeholders to promote nutrition and development issues, especially in the areas of behavior change communication.

    Networking and Partnership-building:

    • Build and sustain effective close working partnerships with nutrition sector government counterparts and national stakeholders through active sharing of information and knowledge.
    • Represent LABDI in external meetings as appropriate.
    • Facilitate programme implementation and build the capacity of stakeholders to achieve programme goals on maternal and child rights as well as social justice and equity.

    Innovation, Knowledge Management and Capacity Building:

    • Apply and introduce innovative approaches and good practices to build the capacity of LABDI Staff and stakeholders, and to support the implementation and delivery of normative change.
    • Keep abreast, research, benchmark, and implement best and cutting-edge practices in nutrition management and information systems. Assess, institutionalize, and share best practices and knowledge learned.

    Requirements

    • Qualification: BA / BSc / HND in a relevant field.
    • Experience: At least 3 years.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English. Knowledge of local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
