    Housekeeping Supervisor (Abeokuta)

    • The housekeeping supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the operational excellence of the production plant by upholding the highest hygiene and sanitation standards. This position is instrumental in ensuring that every corner of the facility, including high-traffic production areas, sensitive hygiene zones, employee welfare spaces, administrative offices, and external premises, meets or exceeds stringent cleanliness and safety benchmarks. The supervisor is tasked with meticulously planning, coordinating, and overseeing all sanitation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory food safety guidelines and company policies.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Hygiene and Sanitation Standards

    • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and hygiene standards, such as HACCP, GMP, and FSMA.
    • Implement and monitor strict sanitation protocols for all production and non-production areas.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment, surfaces, and floors are clean and sanitized per plant requirements.
    • Oversee cleaning of high-risk areas, such as production floors, raw material storage, packaging zones, and processing equipment.

    Team Management

    • Train, and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring they understand and follow plant sanitation procedures.
    • Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks.
    • Assign tasks and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff, providing feedback and additional training where necessary.
    • Maintain a positive and professional work environment, encouraging teamwork and efficiency among staff.

    Cleaning and Sanitation Supplies Management

    • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, cleaning tools, and Cleaning PPE, ensuring timely procurement.
    • Select and approve cleaning agents and disinfectants in compliance with food safety regulations.
    • Ensure proper labelling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals, minimizing waste and risks to employee safety.

    Regulatory Compliance and Documentation

    • Maintain detailed cleaning logs and records for all housekeeping activities, ensuring they are up-to-date and audit ready.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any sanitation-related issues identified during inspections or audits.
    • Participate in internal and external food safety audits, demonstrating compliance with hygiene protocols.

    Health and Safety

    • Ensure the housekeeping team adheres to the plant’s safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals.
    • Conduct safety briefings and training for housekeeping staff to minimize accidents and injuries.
    • Investigate and resolve any hygiene-related incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities to enhance sanitation practices and recommend process improvements.
    • Keep up to date with industry trends and innovations in cleaning methods, tools, and products.
    • Collaborate with other departments to implement cross-functional hygiene initiatives.

    Key Skills and Competencies

    • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues proactively.
    • Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of housekeeping staff.
    • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for team coordination and report preparation.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BSc in Food Science and Technology, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Microbiology or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a food processing environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of hygiene standards such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000.
    • Experience in managing cleaning equipment and sanitation chemicals.
    • Proficiency in using cleaning scheduling software or tools is an advantage.

    Quality Assurance Officer (Abeokuta)

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and compliance to all product and process specifications, as well as food and environmental safety.

    Duties and Responsibilities
     

    • Ensure compliance to quality policy, procedures, work instructions, and documented quality systems. In addition, ensure compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Carry out inspection upon arrival of raw materials, packaging materials and inputs against specifications and submit reports after inspection.
    • Ensure all quality procedures for fruit washing and storage are observed.
    • Check the peeling and cutting quality, and complete the quality control sheet at Processing.
    • Check the packing quality and complete the quality control sheet at Packing.
    • Conduct quality control on pallets in accordance to the finished goods control procedure.
    • Ensure daily calibration and verification of all measuring equipment in the laboratory and in the factory.
    • Monitor and control all storage areas and conditions.
    • Continuous training and coaching of factory employees on Food safety and quality issues.
    • Fulfillment of housekeeping and environmental standards.
    • Report any non-compliance detected in relation to both the Quality and Food safety management system to the Quality manager.
    • Report immediately any non-conformity on product quality detected to the QA manager.
    • Report immediately any breakage, damage or malfunction of equipment to the QA manager.
    • Ensure samples for analyses are properly taken for each batch.
    • Manage and maintain all tools and equipment for carrying out quality control checks: in the laboratory and in the factory.
    • Ensure proper and prompt filing of records: maintain organized and accessible records for analysis and reference.
    • Ensure correct traceability of products and records.
    • Supporting process improvements throughout the testing and quality assurance processes
    • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines in the factory.

    Supervisory duties:

    • Appraise the performance of immediate team members, identify their training needs and organize or recommend appropriate training for them.
    • Administer disciplinary measures of immediate team members in accordance with the company’s disciplinary procedures
    • Interpret policies and procedures to immediate team members and where necessary, consult superior or appropriate departments.

    Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements

    • Bachelor\'s Degree / HND or higher in Food Science, Agribusiness or a related field.
    • At least two (2) years of professional or sector/industry experience.
    • Flexibility based on factory production schedule.
    • Knowledge of the use of measuring equipment.
    • Knowledge of GMPs
    • Knowledge of the HACCP system
    • Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
    • Integrity and accountability
    • Fluency in English – excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
