    Anchor Foreman

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the Barge Foreman in setting up the barge on work locations.
    • Prepare anchors, pennant wires and different types of buoys during barge mobilization.
    • Check the condition of the barge mooring system i.e. anchor winches and anchor wires, and report findings to the Barge Foreman.
    • Plot  anchor  positions  as  depicted  in  the  approved  anchor  pattern;  in  the  absence  of  such a pattern, plan and plot positions with the concurrence of senior colleagues.
    • Monitor the position of a barge during repositioning of anchors onto the seabed with Anchor  Handling Tugs (AHTS) to ensure that the barge is well positioned through all phases of the lay operation.

    QUALIFICATION AND  EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 7 years’ experience as anchor foreman is essential.
    • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
    • Knowledgeable of all standard offshore safety training requirements.
    • Knowledgeable of HSEMS, environmental awareness, hazardous material awareness and handling of waste.

    Bardge Administrator

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Compiles and maintains records of offshore project activities, performing a variety of clerical duties.
    • Keeps track of personnel count, time, diary/rotational planner, project force account notification,'mail
    • routing, compile and maintain files and records of the activities of vessel, equipment in accordance with established procedures
    • Perform  land based office service  and logistics such as  record  keeping,  personnel movement, materials and supply handling, telephones, faxes, copying/scanning machines and assigned projects.

    Barge Foreman

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • As  the  Barge  Superintendent's  representative,  supervise  and  issue  work  instructions  to construction crew for  the  overall safe installation of the project, as specified by the project Installation Procedures.
    • Directly reports to the Vessel Superintendent and responsible for all deck activities
    • Will organize via his respective subordinates anchor patterns, run anchors and moor barge at work locations in accordance with job requirements, Company and Client procedures
    • Responsible for refusing unsafe  work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established HSES Safety Standards and work practices.
    • Responsible  for  following  the  instructions and fulfilling the responsibilities within the Emergency Response procedures and advising crews on their responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 15years experience in offshore construction industry.
    • Minimum 8 years experience as a barge foreman on a major offshore pipe lay vessel
    • Minimum 4-5 years DP offshore construction experience

    Bardge Leaderman

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The Barge Leadermanwill report to the Barge Foreman. He will have overall responsibility to direct  the activities of workers engaged in operation  equipment to lift, move, and place
    • materials, and erect  tructures. Key personnel reporting to the Barge Leaderman will  be Riggers and Operators.
    • Prepare locations where structures are to be placed.
    • Direct load-outs of completed structures.
    • Establish or adjust work procedures.
    • Study production schedule and estimate requirements for assignments.
    • Requisition materials and supplies for the department as required.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 15years’ experience in offshore construction industry.
    • Minimum 7years’ experience as a barge
    • Ledermanon a major offshore pipe lay vessel
    • Minimum 5years' DP heavy lift experience
    • 5years' offshore supervisory experience
    • Valid STCW endorsed Seafarer's Medical Certificate

    Bardge Mechanics

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To follow guidelines / procedures and schedules for the maintenance and check out of  all
    • mechanical equipment and systems.
    • Responsible for maintenance and repair of the electrical, fuel, water, sewage, hydraulic and pneumatic  systems  aboard.  Preventative  maintenance  and  repair  for  the  barge's  cranes,
    • compressors, work winches, anchor winches and abandon-ship systems.
    • During pipeline operation will operate and maintain tension devices, conveyors, track shoes, davits, winches and hydraulic pumps.
    • Will maintain equipment logs, barge ballast / fuel / oil / water inventories and reports.
    • Follows a training and safety programme and attends regular safety meetings within  his group.
    • To carry out such tasks / duties which may be assigned by his supervisor(s).
    • To be aware of mechanical equipment downtime implications.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • The position requires a minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Barge Mechanic.
    • Should have mechanical experience with emphasis on operation and maintenance of heavy
    • diesel engines. Required to have working knowledge of boilers, water desalination units, deck and derrick cranes, anchor winches, and generators. Pipeline operation requires individual to be knowledgeable of hydraulic systems relative to the operation of conveyors and tension devices

    Bardge Superintendent

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • General administration and overall  supervision of  the barge with responsibility of all personnel and equipment on board the barge and other support vessels assigned to the vessel
    • spread.
    • Overall responsible person in charge of PLB and other support vessels assigned to PLB spread.
    • Control marine movements in relation to site, and in particular, ensure all vessels are moored
    • in accordance with pre-approved procedures.
    • Responsible for ensuring the stability of the PLB is within the limits stated in its valid load line certificate and that all other vessels are operated within their own capabilities

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 25 years’ experience in offshore construction industry
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as Barge Superintendent

    Chief Electrician

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To analyse and resolve any problems of an electrical nature relative to Barge Operations and activities.
    • Responsible for routine electrical maintenance and repairs. Installs/power wiring to newly installed machines and
    • equipment following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams and blue prints. Test/Diagnoses   malfunctioning   apparatus   using   test   equipment   and repair/replace   faulty   components or recommend remediation within good marine standards.  Assist other department personnel as required under the directive of the Chief Engineer
    • To liaise with the Chief Mechanic to ensure efficient operation of all equipment.
    • Will maintain General Alarm and Fire Bells in ready condition and organize periodic tests.
    • Will  schedule  apreventative  maintenance  programme  for  all  relevant  equipment  and systems.
    • To maintain equipment and job logs.
    • To investigate and initiate any methods and / or procedures which would result in a more efficient utilization of equipment / systems and minimize downtime.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Should  have  broad  electrical  background  with  working  knowledge  of  AC/DC  generators  to
    • 1500  KVA,  air-conditioning  units  in  35-60 ton range,  power  distribution,  DC  welding machines,   crane   and   winch   control   circuitry,basic electronics and radio / teletype communications, generator rebuild and alignment, air-electric controls and hydraulics. 
    • Must be able to estimate  and schedule materials and manhours. Should have working knowledge of barge operations, related  mechanical  equipment  and  delegates  tasks  to  crew whose abilities are most compatible. 
    • Conduct  safety  meetings  and  maintain  equipment  logs. Should be capable of effectively supervising a multinational crew

    Chief Engineer

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for maintenance and repair of the electrical, fuel, water, sewage, hydraulic and pneumatic  systems  aboard.  Preventative  maintenance  and  repair  for  the  barge's  cranes,
    • compressors, work winches, anchor winches and abandon-ship systems
    • To establish firm guidelines / procedures and schedules for the maintenance and check out of all mechanical equipment and systems.
    • To coordinate all his activities with those of the Barge Foreman, Welder Foreman and Chief
    • Electrician to ensure that all tasks are completed in the most efficient manner.
    • To be on call to troubleshoot / operate equipment such as auxiliary pumps, air compressors, steam generators, jacks and machine shop, to assist or expedite direct job efforts.
    • During pipeline operation will operate and maintain tension devices, conveyors, track shoes, davits, winches and hydraulic pumps.
    • Will maintain equipment logs, barge ballast / fuel / oil / water inventories and reports, order and  maintain  adequate  spare  parts  and
    • tools  inventory,  compile  and assign priorities  for repair work.
    • Will  be  familiar  with  applicable  A.B.S. and ensure  that  all  work  and  modifications  complies with their requirements, and have a knowledge of shipyard / dry dock procedures.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • The position requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Chief Engineer.
    • Should have wide-ranging mechanical experience with emphasis on operation and maintenance of heavy-duty diesel engine.Required to have working knowledge of boilers, water desalination units, deck and derrick cranes, anchor winches, and generators. 
    • Construction operation requires individual to be knowledgeable of hydraulic systems relative to the operation of conveyors and tension devices.  Ideally, the Chief engineer  will be able to set up a machine shop and organize various types of bench test equipment. 
    • Should be conversant with A.B.S. and towing procedures. Considering the diversity of tasks under his control the Chief Mechanic must be flexible and able to delegate authority. Should capable of effectively managing and supervising a multinational crew.

    Construction Superintendent

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure a safe and effective Permit to Work system is in place and maintained for all Construction activities.
    • Supervise and support day-to-day Construction activities / personnel in the safe and structured
    • delivery of the work scope and processes, ensuring all applicable site / Project safety procedures are fully and properly implemented.
    • Constantly strive to obtain maximum productivity and economical use of labour and equipment in order to keep costs within budget.
    • Assist in the development, issues and updating of all applicable Construction strategies, procedures / working practices and system / sub-
    • system boundary P&ID's required for the delivery   of   the   Construction   process -ensure  compliance with all Project standards,specifications and procedures.
    • Liaise with the Project Engineering office to ensure P&ID's and other drawings are produced in line with Construction requirements.
    • Co-ordinate the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of Construction resources to meet schedule requirements. This will include the necessary tooling and temporary requirements which are to be managed and controlled in a cost-effective manner.
    • Ensure, before any work commences, that all items of material, equipment, scaffolding  etc required are
    • on board the barge and other support vessels assigned to the vessel spread.
    • Overall  responsible  person  in  charge  of  PLB  and  other  support  vessels  assigned  to  PLB spread.

    Construction Supervisor

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Act as construction site representative ensuring offshore brownfield construction activities are undertaken in accordance with project execution plan upholding project objectives
    • Provides PMT oversight on all activities undertaken with respect to his assigned vessel, other PMT and all contractor personnel.
    • Review offshore brownfield construction work plans, pre-task   planning  and  method
    • statements to ensure comprehensive safety and feasibility for the brownfield modification project.
    • Monitors contractor’s offshore brownfield execution activities. Reports daily progress and issues of concern to Construction Superintendent and Offshore Construction Manager.
    • Supervises and influence the safe and efficient work execution by subcontractors performing offshore  brownfield  construction  work  to  ensure  compliance  with  project  objectives  and
    • contractual requirements.
    • Ensure offshore brownfield construction work is executed in compliance with Company rules, regulations, and standards and permit to work procedures as applicable.
    • Has autonomy over scheduling and planning of own work; organizes efforts of work group to achieve overall efficiency.
    • Report and record potential change order requests to assist in claims preparation.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience primarily in Offshore Brownfield Engineering and Construction. International experience is preferred.
    • Good  written  and  verbal communication  skills  with  the ability  to  communicate  at  all levels from management to field labor.
    • Good technical and supervisory skills.
    • Demonstrated experience managing all craft disciplines through mechanical completion and pre-commissioning.
