Job Brief

We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer with minimum of 5 years experience in the textile Industry.

Responsibilities

• Work on systems and components that meet needs and requirements

Requirements and Skills

• B. Eng / HND in Engineering
• 5 years Proven working experience as a mechanical engineer in a textile industry.
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE) is an added advantage.
• Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge.
• Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
• Creativity and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
• Technical writing skills.

Job Description

• We are hiring an electrical engineer to implement complex industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical systems.
• To do well in this role you should be a licensed professional engineer and have extensive experience as an electrical engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, commercial, or domestic purposes.
• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
• Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products.
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards.
• Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects.
• Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
• Supervising or training project team members.
• Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
• Maintaining electrical equipment.
• Working with a variety of technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
• Not less than 5 years mimimum working experience in the textile Industry.
• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
• Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
• Proficient in design and calculation software is an added advantage.

Duties

• Supervises and participates in ordering, purchasing, requisitioning, expediting, receiving, inspecting, storing, distributing and accounting for materials, supplies, tools, and equipment;
• Supervises the preparation of documents for the procurement of materials, supplies, tools and services;
• Manages stores/warehouse operations to determine compliance with operating procedures, recommends necessary changes, and establishes new or revised policies and procedures within established guidelines;
• Investigates and resolves requests from buyers, accounts payable offices and vendors concerning payment issues;
• Confers regularly with vendors and others, involved in the procurement process.
• Prepares periodic performance and activity reports and other reports, as required;
• Supervises regular physical inventories, including cycle counts, of all stock items;
• Uses Internet technology, other telecommunication networks, electronic mail, and manufacturer technical catalogs and manuals to obtain current, accurate specifications of materials, supplies and tools;
• Establishes control procedures to assure the security of warehouse stock and other items located at stores/warehouse locations;
• Consults with repair shop supervisors, engineers, mechanics, technicians and other specialized staff regarding special projects or anticipated needs;
• Monitors performance and completes performance reports;
• Coordinates stores/warehouse activities intra-departmentally and with other departments;
• Conducts regular safety inspections and training in safe work practices, storage of hazardous materials, and applicable regulations;
• Establishes and maintains a safe and hazard free work site;
• Supervises and participates in the purchase, receipt, correct identification, storage, control and/or disposition, reclamation and recycling of hazardous and waste materials, including electronic waste;
• Reviews requests for supplies, materials and tools needed for future projects and answers inquiries regarding stock levels.

Requirements

• Experience in textile industry is an added advantage
• Use of ERP or SAP software is an added advantage.

The packing supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the packing department. This includes:

• Supervising the packing staff.
