    Solar PV Installation Field Technician

    Job Description

    • The position of the Solar PV Installation Field Technician   is expected to provide support to the Company’s operations in compliance with global best practices.
    • The job holder will be responsible for designing, Installing and/or maintaining different renewable energy solution predominantly solar photovoltaic (PV) or hybrid systems for residential, commercial, or productive client in compliance with GVE standards and procedures. This may include structural design and implementation of support structures for the solar modules and other components.

    The Solar PV Installation Technician is actively responsible for:

    • Assessing the job site, identifying, and resolving any potential hazards/challenges and present recommendations.
    • Developing cost effective and efficient installation plans.
    • Professionally assist client in identifying most appropriate installation location for the various equipment/subsystem that would guaranty personal/equipment safety as well as ensure optimized cost and operational efficiency.
    • Timely presentation of reports (site assessment report, work progress report, incident and resolution report etc.)
    • Preliminary installation design.
    • Installing, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment/installations in compliance with manufacturer’s specification.
    • Adopt best practices and ensure compliance to standard procedures such as proper system sizing, proper grounding of systems as well as conduct necessary tests required for optimal and safe operation of system.
    • Maintaining product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations. Completes projects by training and guiding end-users.
    • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
    • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, HND or OND in Electrical Engineering.
    • Good knowledge of electrical flow diagram interpretation and installations.
    • Two (2) years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and installation preferable in the renewable sector.

    Regional Supervising Engineer (West)

    Job Description

    • Regional Supervising Engineer holds a very vital and strategic role in the company. This position is expected to drive the company’s strategy implementation through coordination of operations in the assigned region and in compliance with global best practices, policies, systems and procedures as led down by GVE operational procedures.
    • In charge of managing the company’s technical operation in the assigned region.
    • Represent the face of the company in the region.
    • Manage customer’s expectations, serve as a link between customer and the company: serve as second level escalation to customer queries.
    • Translate customer requirements and/or change requests in functional and high-level technical specifications, keeping in mind the technical and functional integrity of the solution.
    • Validate implemented solution against the functional specifications and as ‘inspector’ to ensure that the solution will match the business requirements.  

    The Regional Supervising Engineer (West) is actively responsible for:

    • Reviewing the implementation of power system designs and distribution grid designs for sites (Mini-grid and SHS)
    • Working with partners and subcontractors to develop and apply multiple approaches to assess and forecast demand, including proprietary machine learning models and industry standard energy modelling software, while mitigating for risks;
    • Oversing the development of technical designs for energy and distribution systems for our system that utilize solar PV and/or batteries and/or diesel backup systems (master of hybrid systems implementation)
    • Developing design standards for project development that are appropriate for local contexts and follow international best practices;
    • Reviewing /developing technical assessments of system components, including, but not limited to: metering and billing mechanisms; remote shutdown and use of mobile phone platforms and/or GIS management systems to facilitate an efficient and smooth operation.
    • When needed, develop or review shop drawings and engineering plans (site surveys; site plan, layout, and identification rings; electrical single line diagrams; Instrumentation and control systems; major equipment list with sizing; major equipment specifications and operating models; energy production estimation; and, recommended optimum mini-grid system capacity and configurations);
    • Liaising with line managers, host communities and clients to drive business development and company growth
    • Contributing targeted written inputs on process efficiency improvement.
    • Managing inventory and stock for the region.
    • Supervising and coordinating the activities of the field engineers in the regions.
    • Reviewing installations and perform project go-live review, ensure E2E compliance to the company’s set standards.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's Degree is a plus).
    • 4 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and installation preferably in the renewable sector in Nigeria
    • Skilled in Electrical Systems Design and implementation
    • High IT literacy level. Ability to use excel, MS office suite, data analysis/ management applications and CRM.

    Mini-Grid Commercial Operations Manager

    Job Description
    The Mini-Grid Operation Manager will be in charge of managing the commercial operations of the company’s mini-grid sites with the purpose of ensuring the following:

    • Collaboration with technical operations team to ensure 100% uptime of all the mini-grid sites spread across the country
    • Manage commercial field operations, including personnel, maintenance activities, financial activities, and planning.
    • Ensuring all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
    • Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices
    • Helping the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
    • Collaborate with the site operators to manage revenue collections and ensuring no revenue leakages.
    • Develop and implement innovative approaches to ensure optimal capacity utilization in all the sites.

    • Ensure all sites operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way. Track and maintain records for site operations, such as site performance, downtime events, parts usage, or substation events.
    • Monitor and maintain records of daily facility operations.
    • Estimate costs associated with operations, including repairs or preventive maintenance. Determines cost of individual sites operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.
    • Examine revenue collection data and use them to make site optimization recommendations to management in a bid to improve profitability.
    • Establish goals, objectives, or priorities for field operations. Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices. Maintain operations records, such as work orders, site inspection forms, or other documentation.
    • Prepare field operational budgets, Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency to support site operations. Liaise directly with site OEMs to manage warranty repair or replacement services. Order parts, tools, or equipment needed to maintain, restore, or improve field operations.
    • Help the organization’s processes remain efficient, legally compliant and without loopholes.
    • Formulate long-term strategic and operational objectives for the mini-grid business of the company.
    • Review, negotiate, and improve new and existing site contracts.
    • Manage mini-grids business expansion, development budgets and forecasts
    • Oversee and manage the mini-grid sites maintenance schedules in collaboration with the technical operations teams.
    • Perform site reliability checks, uptime controls and monitor site performance KPIs
    • Develop relationships and communicate with customers, site operators/managers, developers, landowners, authorities, utility representatives, or residents. Manage Site stakeholder engagement and find ways to increase quality of customer service across all locations.
    • Support the management team in the upcoming phases of mini-grid sites development through making data driven recommendations based on historical data of existing sites.
    • Develop processes or procedures for site operations management, including transitioning from construction to commercial operations. Select, recruit and train site operators, contractors, or subcontractors.
    • Supervise employees, operators or contractors to ensure quality of work or adherence to safety regulations or policies.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field (Master's Degree is a plus).
    • 3 years proven work experience as a commercial Operations manager, Investment banking, portfolio management or related field

    Management Accountant

    Job Description

    • The Management Accountant holds a very vital and strategic role in the company. This position is expected to provide essential Financial Governance, Finance and Accounting management, Control and Reporting, General Administration, Legal and Tax services to the company’s operations in compliance with global best practices, policies, systems and procedures as laid down by GVE operational procedures.
    • The Management Accountant’s key responsibility is to work closely with the CFO and the executive management in developing new opportunities aimed at increasing footprint in the sector. Over the next years, (he/she) needs to develop and position the company as an international leader in the sector offering increased company’s valuation and upscale investor’s interest.  In addition, the Management Accountant will provide guidance and support and ensure local implementation of the company’s corporate compliance programme.

    • Effectively contribute to the strategic vision and tactical execution to drive revenue growth, profitability, and capital base.

    The Management Accountant is actively responsible for:

    • Leads financial analyses of investment opportunities (equity, loan, grants, angel investors), projects financing and acquisitions targets

    • Provide finance leadership in the negotiation of legal and other transactional agreements / documents to suit GVE’s best interest

    • Manage the payables process and receipts and deposits of cash & bank transactions
    • Execute remittances for PAYE tax, VAT, and other tax responsibilities.
    • Ensure the smooth operation of bookkeeping and record transactions onto accounting softwares, in conjunction with preparing bank and petty cash reconciliation.
    • Advise management on any irregularities observed in record keeping and asset control
    • Perform internal audits.
    • Conduct a continuous review of all reconciliations, payments and helps in maintaining the proper documentation for further compliance reviews.
    • Coordinates external and other regulatory compliance reviews.
    • Maintain relationships with several internal business stakeholders to understand the business.
    • Prepare reports based on audit results and present internal audit reports to the board.
    • Promote the highest standards of ethics across the organization.

    Account Payable and Receivable:

    • Responsible for sending out invoices to clients.
    • Ensure timely follow-up on invoices sent out to clients.
    • Manage accounts receivable and cash application functions to ensure timely and accurate recording, collection, reconciliation and reporting of accounts receivable.
    • Work closely with Commercial, Sales, Operations, and inventory control team to ensure discrepancies and payment delinquencies are resolved on a timely basis.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts related to accounts receivable.
    • Updating of Cashflow forecast in ERP and providing weekly updates to management
    • Partner with cross functional teams to share best practices and improve communication and procedures
    • Track account transactions and resolution of issues.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external business partners
    • Oversee routine departmental activities of account payable
    • Maintain accurate and complete financial employee and client records
    • Prepare analysis of accounts and generate monthly reports.
    • Monitor vendor payments and timely receipt of outstanding credit
    • Build and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
    • Supervision of advance payment made to vendor

    Tax and Audit:

    • Prepare tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports.
    • Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions.
    • Manage and maintain the company’s tax database.
    • Determine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve profits.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
    • Offer support and guidance during audits.
    • Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden.
    • Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.
    • Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial management or related field. (Masters’ degree is a plus).
    • 10 years of relevant experience in Investment banking, project driven engineering enterprise, portfolio management or related field and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (ERP (ZOHO) is a plus)
    • ICAN, ACCA or related qualifications will be an added advantage
